I would like to start this review by saying that I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review and this in no way affects my review.

While I did enjoy this book for the most part, there was one main aspect that greatly disturbed me. To the point that I was uncomfortable and to disturb me to that point is quite a feat because I am not easily disturbed. There were also a couple of grammar and spelling issues that I came across which is a huge pet peeve of mine. Other than those two issues, I did quite enjoy the book. I liked the fact that Renee had a very difficult childhood but overcame it and made something out of herself. I also quite enjoyed that the plot was so fast paced and unpredictable, I couldn't help but keep turning the pages. I loved the ending which I didn't see coming at all and thought it was absolutely perfect!

3/5 Stars!

Was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review

Summary:
Renee has has an extremely rough life. Rape, torture and being pushed aside. She has grown up to be much more than anyone ever expected. Being a top Queen-pin, Renee has it all, or so she thinks.

Dislikes:
The dialog was kind of hard to follow for me. The relationships were a bit frustrating because I couldn't stand how some people were treated.

Likes:
The thrill factor of the book is lightning quick. A well thought out plot with a bunch of surprises. Was a very fast paced read with talented writing.

Overall:
I enjoyed the book well enough. Wasn't a favorite but was definitely intriguing. If you tend to like mafia/mob and organized crime novels I think you would really enjoy this. It is a wonderful to see a woman in charge of a mans world too. Thank you, Brandie for the opportunity to read your book!

Renee is an intelligent and business minded drug lord. Her team and business affairs are tight knit, but this closeness is something that she never saw as a liability.

While reading this story I found myself turning pages and even going back over what I read because of the ways that the characters in the book were related. This was a classic case of 6 degrees of separation, since several of her enemies were connected to the people who were closest to her without anyone being aware.

What was surprising about Renee - All Hail The Queen, was the fact that story was more focused on the emotional parts of the characters. These emotions included the love that she had for her deceased father, her hatred towards her mother and step father, her close but distant love for man Julian who was 2nd in command of her organization, the love that she had for her sister and the hate that the same sister had for her, the perverted love that her step father had for her, the hostility she had for an illegitimate sibling that she found about and also the love that one of her security had for her.

All of this love and hatred was the cause of to many deaths of people who were close to her, to enemies from her past and even to the sister that she love so much. I was also reason enough to hand over her throne to the illegitimate sister that she despised.

There are many areas of the book that will keep a reader entertained and on the edge of their seat and I recommend that they read this book very carefully to make sure that no details are missed.

Wow! What an awesome story from start to finish. This book was a pager turner. I couldn't put it down I had to know what was going to happen next. The characters all had there demons and they all seemed to revolve around each other in some way or another. Renee really was a queen even with her demons. It seems everyone was after her or blaming her for there troubles. I can't wait for the next book.

I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Renee had a shit childhood, and therefore takes no shit from anybody. Her hardened attitude has helped her to establish herself as the queen-pin of New York, but it's also pushed those away that she would maybe hold close. When her past threatens to destroy her, Renee must find out if letting go is what heals her...or what kills her.

I enjoyed this book overall. I appreciated the fast pace and the strong lead female character. However, I did find the book to have a few grammatical errors, along with what I felt to be a lot of repetitiveness, especially in regards to Renee's fucked up childhood. This was my first foray into urban fiction, and I appreciate the author giving me a chance to read her book. If you enjoy urban fiction, organize crime/mob crime, and/or strong female leads, then I think you would enjoy this novel.

Renee is a beautiful woman who's looks will make any man want to be with her but her heart...that's another story. Her heart has grown cold due to the traumatic events in her life and nobody can make her icebox of a heart melt. Without giving too much of the story away... This book left me full of emotions. I think we can all relate to going through things and holding on to them. Often times we don't realize that it's more damaging to us than to those who hurt us. This story had it all...suspense, drama, heartfelt moments and moments that literally made me drop my kindle. Excellent read by Ms. Brandie Davis. I look forward to Part 2 and no this wasn't a cliff hanger book at all. Everything got tied up in a bow which I loved because I hate books that just drop me off in the middle of nowhere. Brandie took me on the highest highs and dropped me to the lowest of lows but picked me up and left me right where I needed to be! Great Read!

Revenge to the Fullest

Growing up in the streets of New York, Renee found herself lost and lonely. Yes she had a mother and sister, but they were both against her. She was molested by her stepfather. After running away from home, she soon found herself in a position of power, running New York while keeping a low profile from her family and enemies under a new name - Jordan. Will the streets find out Renee's true identity?

“Renee: All Hail the Queen” by Brandie Davis is a book that keeps you interested from start to finish. I liked this book and recommend it because it was a true page turner. I liked that it provided a different element of drama and that it was from a female perspective. It was very creative. The characters were well developed and very realistic. You could actually envision some of the scenes in the book because of the great way it was written. It was a book that I truly enjoyed and because of this I give it a 5-star rating.

”Cold to the point of numbness.”

Renee: All Hail the Queen is a book about betrayal, malice, and love. Renee, queenpin of New York has been through hell and back, inflicting her pain on anyone who even thinks to cross her let alone tries it. Abuse from her childhood causes her to become heartless except were Julian is concerned, but is the man she loves enough to melt the ice surrounding her heart? A story of hurt, pain, power, and longing-- this book is the definition of great storytelling. A wave of emotions dipped in a sea of chaos, Renee’s life is full of it all. Family Ties are broken by lies and secrets, as the bonds of friendship are destroyed. Renee: All Hail the Queen is a book I’ll add to my list of favorites for sure. Ready for part II.

Loved it

I liked how even though Renee went through a lot in her childhood she keep living. She let them destroy her mentally but she is trying to get herself back together. This book is emotional and leaves u in your feelings. How can a mother do a child like that or a sibling hate u that much? Not sure how Renee will act once she finds the secret out about her sister Carmen. Will she be able to take her or will she let her be? So ready for part 2 so I can see what happens with Renee, her sister, her relationship with Julian. This book was entertaining from the beginning to the end.

Renee NOOOOOO......

First let me say when I first started this book, I was mad by the 5th chapter. I kept saying damn so many characters, why so many? However, it all came together beautifully. This book will have you completely on edge from start to finish. The way the author brought all the characters together, was really unique. I'm starting part 2, and I can't wait to see where the author takes Renee and her squad.

All Hail The Queen!!!!!!

Mental illnesses, murder, betrayal, drama, jealousy/envy. You name it this book had it. Very action packed and drama filled. Very minimal grammatical errors with excellent character introduction and development.

Renee is a force to be reckoned with. This was my first read by this author and won’t be my last.

I came upon this book by accident and I am unsure if I truly liked the book as much as I rated it. There were parts that were good and parts that felt rushed. She introduced a lot of characters in a short amount of time. I found spelling errors and other errors too. I truly hated the ending. Happy for her getting out but it makes me wonder if there is another book to this. Ending not the best.

Y’all know I LOVE a dysfunctional family... but this story was a bit much. Reneé, who also goes by Jordan, has it all. She’s used the trauma and pain she endured in her childhood to elevate her to the Queen of NY... however, with the status of the QBIC comes a price. On her rise to the top, Renee made many enemies and she comes across them all on her way down....

I don't often leave my favourite genre of fantasy romance, but this book slid across my library desk and I had to try it! It was everything I normally hate - more than 1 character's perspective, no magical elements, third person perspective, etc. BUT I LOVED IT. This book had so many twists and turns, I started connecting dots and was screaming with excitement nearly every chapter. Cannot wait to read the rest of this series!

I read this book in 2 days. It was very good and very engaging. I love a good urban novel and this one definitely kept me on edge. One thing about the book, the detail. This book had a little too much detail. Other than that, it was a great story.

I loved the way the author started this story the way she describes her scenes is like I was there. I love a story where the author is so descriptive that I could picture myself in the scene. Renee is living the life in her plushed out Condo sitting on her throne looking and observing the city no scratch that, her city New York. She is invincible with her army of bodyguards and her pounds and pounds of dope that they push through her city yep she had all the things her money could buy, the latest cars the most recent fashions but the one thing that her money couldn't buy her was a new life . The kind of life where her step-father didn't rape her and her mother is so in love with him and hates you so much that she lets him do it. Renee's childhood is something that she still cant escape which has made her a very heartless unemotional person which is causing a problem between her and the man she know she loves but is afraid to. As she tries to come to grips with her life she has people from her past as well as the present seeking revenge on her even her sister Page gets in on it angry at the fact that her father chose Renee to rape instead of her. Yeah I know sick right? This was a very well written out story about a totally dysfunctional family and the repercussions from it, being raped and abused by someone who is suppose to love you but didn't protect you can lead to many problems in life for not only the abused but for the family as well by saying that I mean it caused Renee to be scared of love and show no emotion and for her sister Page it was hate and revenge. This book had a lot of interesting characters that played there part really well it was never a dull moment in this book it kept me on the edge of my seat for the whole read and there was know editing problems at all which made it even smoother to read the author found her plot and stuck with it never straying from the story and it was realistic and refreshing to see a female gangster for a change. Kudos Ms. Brandie for a fantastic read and I look forward to reading pt. 2 in the future.

Okay peeps you know what time it is that's right Q&A .....

I was sent this book by Brandie Davis, for Free, in exchange for an honest review.

This is a first for me, I've never really read anything from the Urban Genre, although I feel this was a good introductory book. I liked the amount of drama, and the cast of characters. I felt as though I was watching reality t.v. which is a plus for the author, as she paints a pretty imaginative picture. I am not really a fan of books with sensitive topic's such as molestation and the like. So for me parts of this book were uncomfortable to read. But that is not the authors fault.

I think Brandie has a great writing career in store for her, and I think for a debut, this book was pretty darn good! I am sure it's going to be well loved! I might just not have been the right fit to read it! Good Luck Brandie!

I am giving this book a 4.5. Brandie Davis is a new and upcoming author. Her first novel Renee: All Hail The Queen takes us all on a journey with Renee. Renee does not live a normal life at all. Growing up her life was anything but normal. She was subjected to the verbal abuse her mother gave her on a daily basis as well as the horrible acts of molestation which was brought upon her by her step-dad. Renee never knew any love, the love that was suppose to be given to her by her family was taken away and replaced with evil words and actions. The pain she buried within her from her lack of family made her who she was. Renee is a cold hearted queen pin living lavishly in New York City. Since she is such a powerful person many things are protected and kept a secret in order to keep her protected.

With her moving forward with her past and its dirty secrets buried deep within her and with her being the head person in NY one would think that Renee has it all. She has power, money and with those two things alone she is unstoppable. What Renee doesn’t have is peace of mind. People are resurfacing from Renee's past and they are out for her and she has no clue. Friends are becoming enemies at the drop of a dime, lies are being uncovered, secrets are being told and ultimately Renee could be in danger. Will the most powerful woman in NYC continue to sit on her thrown and watch it all or will her past be her default?

Overall, I think Brandie Davis did a really good job with her first novel. It was something different to hit the book scenes, not most urban fiction has a woman running things its usually men seen as the big boss, so it was great to see something new. Renee showed the readers that women can run things just as well as men do. It was cool to see how everything came together the secrets connected things and I was like wow, didn’t see that coming. The saying people aren’t always who they seem to be is very true because you just never know. I will be reading part 2 to see what’s going to happen next, from the way things ended seems like its going to be good!

Keep Your Enemies Close

Ms. Davis has the knack of telling a great and entertaining story. I saw very little signs of this being a debut author, this shows she did the researched needed to put out quality work for her readers. Kudos to her for the great effort put forth. I highly recommend this not your average run of the mill novel.

Renee came from horrible beginnings a step-father who raped her, and a mother who did nothing to protect her child. Trust me there is much more to the story. As a child she had the deck stacked against her. As an adult she is an ice queen. No one can blame her, coming from a troubled past to raining over the city of New York. So what's the catch no one knows (except her immediate circle who is sitting on the throne,) to the public she is a faceless one who reigns over the city and runs it with an iron clad fist. Unable to forget the past she is stagnate and cannot move forward. When the past catches up to her and death is knocking on her door, we see just how close her enemies are to her. I was reading saying wow it’s a small world and Ms. Davis truly made it very small.

I enjoyed reading and seeing what was the next thing to go wrong in Renee life, and who her next enemy would be. Every character was relevant to the story, no matter how small of part, they had a purpose. Before the end of the book a clear reason was given for the ills in the novel, even if some of the reasons turned my stomach. I commend this newbie for thinking outside the box and giving us a different kind of novel. Dealing with issues that there is not a lot of light shinned on. Going the extra step and showing how it affects the psyche.

The only loose end I wanted to know was: is Julian’s secret going to come out? Guess I have to wait for part 2 to drop. Other than that there were no loose ends and is a complete story. The biggest drawback for me was I wanted less narration and more dialogue between the characters. Don't get me wrong all points were addressed and thoughts conveyed, just wanted them to come from the characters.

This was the first book by this author and I enjoyed it very much. Renee kept me entertained from the beginning to the end. I loved the way the story flowed from event to event and I also loved the author's writing style. There was drama from the beginning and the twists and turns kept me very entertained. I felt for Renee and I understood why she behaved the way she did as she went through some rough times in her life. Her back story intrigued me and I experienced some of her emotions. I excited to read about her as the layers of her hard shell were removed and her true self was revealed. I do wish that the author would have went into Renee illegal activities a bit more. We know that she was the queen pen of NY, however I never really found out how she worked the drug trade. I know that Renee will be a trilogy and I can't wait to did deeper into her life and find out if the Queen will remain atop her throne!!

"Renee: All Hail The Queen" is the debut novel by Author Brandie Davis. Renee is a victim of sexual abuse at the hands of her stepfather. With a mother who verbally abuses her, Renee has no one to turn to except her best friend, Julian. Choosing to run away from her past, Renee finds herself in a position of power. But no matter how fast or how far she runs, she just can't escape the faces of her past.

" Renee" was a fast paced read. I loved how the point of view switched between characters. I also loved that Brandie Davis chose to focus not on Renee's career, but instead on her personal life and life outside of the streets. Page was a straight up lunatic and the Electra Complex storyline was interesting to say the least. The story was vivid and the characters unforgettable. I can't wait for the next installment! 5 stars!
