Young Adult (teen) paranormal/urban fantasy romantic thriller.

Two Seattle 16-year-olds, Jatred and Jasmira, are not your typical star-crossed lovers. They are not even your typical Shape Shifters. Sure, they try to live an ordinary life. At least, as ordinary as the Prince and the Princess of the rivaling ancient Races--the Winter wolves and the Summer leopards--can live.

I couldn’t stop reading this original YA urban fantasy! The Shifters live in our society, and an important event is coming. There are intrigue and mind games, and loyalties are tested. At the center of it all is the beautiful love story between Jatred (my favorite character) and Jasmira. The author weaves life in high school with a rich fantasy world that uses mythology in a smart, unique way. It reads like a great movie: lyrical romantic scenes, stunning settings, sharp dialogue, and amazing ac ...more

So I picked this up as part of a Black Friday bargain because I really liked the sound of it and I just couldn’t resist. I caved and did not regret it! This is an interesting twist on shifters, involving long-forgotten deities, ancient pacts, magic (YES!), and romance. I did a great deal of worrying about the characters and how things would turn out and I will certainly be keeping an eye out for the next book, Forged by Synergy. One thing that did bug me was the omniscient perspective. You could ...more

How I dislike writing a negative review even if the book warrants it. Unfortunately, there were so many issues with this book that I just couldn’t overlook them. So let’s get to it. To start I had such a hard time with the names. It was if the author tried to find names that had never been used before or she was trying too hard to have a mini United Nations in her story. The main characters are named Jasmira and Jatred (conveniently they call each other “J” because even they can't stand to say t ...more

I give this book 4.5 stars

Wow. Such a different shifter story! We follow lovers Jatred and Jasmira. Jatred is from the Winter race of shifters run bythe Goddess Crystal where as Jasmira is from the Summer race run bythe Goddess Amber. Two shifters from different races. Lovers. They aren't supposed to be. It is looked down upon by the Goddesses.
Think Romeo and Juliet in a way. Only here after Jatred is forbidden to stay away from Jasmira by Crystal and he

Forbidden love between members of two enemy Shifter races... and not just any members but the Prince and the Princess themselves. Lies, treachery and trials between them - will their love be strong enough to survive?

My reaction: Meh. Hmm.... Aha! *cough* *sputter* *cough* [repeat process]

This book had too much PDA for my liking... especially in the first few chapters. I was sort of confused whether I did read the story from the middle of a series and there is another book before it on how Jatred

I loved how the author starts out her interesting story. Maybe it's because I have a particular fondness for wolves - having been raised in a place named Lone Wolf. That said - I also liked Jatred and Jasmira very much also. I liked the author descriptive way of taking readers into the world of her characters. There is some repetition in scenes, etc. and I could easily guess the plot... but so what? As most of us aware or at least I think most are aware that youngsters as in this story can be a ...more
I'm sorry to say this is a DNF, so it would be unfair to give it a rating. And as always, I feel the need to explain why I didn't finish it.
The concept of this book is intriguing. One couple, bound by love, though separated by their rival clans. Star-crossed love is an age-old story, and still classic. Unfortunately, I just couldn't get into it. I found that I was inundated with details, right down to the brand of clothes they were wearing, which distracted from the story. I also had a difficult

Well first and foremost I'd like to thank Angela Orlowski-Peart for sending me a copy of her book to read. She just proves that not only is she a very good writer but also a very nice person. ;) Now here's the review I promised her I'd write after reading her book. :)

Forged by Greed may at first feel like many other YA books when you start reading it but I found once you get really into the book that all changes and its story and world really pull you in. With likeable characters, a interesti

I couldn't put this book down once I picked it up!
Jared and Jasmira (love that name) are great charachters whos love can't be taken away. Not even by the goddess who likes to throw tatrums! It was just a great read from beginning to end. I know if I start telling you about my favorite parts I will reveal to much so, let me just say winter and summer aren't suppose to love each other but, 2 of them do! Will it last you gotta read the book to find out but, believe me IT IS SO WORTH IT!!!!

I’ve always loved tales of shape-shifters living a dual life amongst us, because after all, who really knows? But teen-aged shape-shifters finding the balance between the two worlds was what drew me to Forged by Greed. Angela Peart integrates both worlds seamlessly and amps up the tension and conflict between the warring worlds of the Winter and Summer races as well as the conflict between love and duty. When push comes to shove, and evil threatens the good, there is some serious butt-kicking, b ...more

This book is as a-typical while still falling smack right into a readers comfort zone as I have ever come across.

It is interesting, the twists are both expected but executed in a way the reader cannot foretell and the characters are like-able. The book reads amazingly fast and is a really good call for a YA reader.

Forged by Greed is the story of Jatred and Jasmira, two shape-shifters from opposing sides. Both of them are the future King and Queen of their races and their Goddesses have very special plans for them. With a very important date closing in on them the Summer Goddess will trap Jasmira in her plot to control both races and the consequences of her actions will fall on Jatred. When the future of their world means they should be apart, what will Jasmira and Jatred do about their love?

I received this book from Goodreads First Reads in exchange for an honest review. I award this book between 2-2.5 stars.

Forged by Greed by Angela Orlowski-Pert is about two teen lovers: Jasmira, the Princess of the Summer Race (leopard shifters) and Jatred, Prince of the Winter race (wolf shifters). On top of their Romeo and Juliet romance are two Goddesses, Amber of Summer, and Crystal of winter, who battle for ultimate domination. There is a powerful Amulet shared between the races that may be
I had a very hard time settling on a rating for this book. There were things I liked about it, and things I really didn't. In the end I settled for the midpoint - 2.5 stars.

I liked the idea behind the story - two races of shifters being manipulated by ancient goddesses, but figuring out how to work together and save the world. The world Ms. Peart created was intriguing.

That being said, there were elements I just didn't care for at all. First and foremost, Jasmira. I found her to be whiny and cli

This was my first real shifters book and YA book. I did enjoy and truly give four stars. I found the story, the characters and the writing intriguing and after the half way point I didn't want to put it down.
The story involves two races of shifters, the Summer and Winter races; a romance (not quite forbidden but frowned upon); a big event to come and friendship.
The title of the book fits the story wonderfully, because in the end it all for

This tale of shifters, goddesses, & demons is quite unique! If you enjoy a fast-paced, action-packed, paranormal, romantic thriller that is sure to have you giggling before long then this would be the book for you! ;)
The characters are full of life, questions, & mystery. I really appreciated getting to hear the different POV's as the conflicts became more intense. It helped me to re-evaluate who's side I was truly on.

This is an amazing story about shape shifter's. You have Jatred who is soon to be the Winter Prince (Wolf) and Jasmira who is soon to be the summer princess (leopard) who have been in a secret relationship. They are not allowed to be together because they are from the rival tribes, thus making the goddesses very mad. You have Crystal who is the winter goddess and Amber who is the summer goddess. Amber is power hungry and causes a huge battle between bo
Jatred, the Winter Prince and wolf shifter is in love with Jasmira, the Summer Princess and leopard shifter. They are members of rival races so this is a true star crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet type story. I liked the characters in this book a lot. The story immediately grabbed my interest and held my attention. There were a l ...more

If you like shifter novels as much as I do, I highly recommend this book to you. As you start reading you join Jasmira and Jatred, a young shifter couple who seem to be very happy, they are the princess and prince of opposing races. You then continue on to see a story of two races of shifters, their Goddesses and how this affects them all. The story is beautifully written and keeps you involved right to the end, where you groan and say “oh no, not yet, more more please!” I would like to thank A ...more

This story follows Jasmira and Jatred two royals just living their teen lives. Jasmira is the princess of the Summer Shifters, ruled by a Goddess whose name is Amber. Jatred is the prince of the Winter Shifters, ruled over by the Goddess Crystal. Both Jasmira and Jatred are destined to be Queen and King of their respective races, but a twist of fate has them in love with each other, something that is forbidden by both races and their Goddesses.

What is it about stories of forbidden love that makes it so fun to read about? It seems like no matter how many of these stories I read I am still a huge sucker for a good one, and this book is pretty darn good.
This story follows the basic outline of any story about forbidden love. A boy and girl fall for each other but for some reason they are not supposed to even talk to each other, let alone fall in love. In this book the boy and girl

This book was an interesting read about shifters that live in the everyday world. It shows the difference between the Summer Realm teens and the Winter Realm teens trying to get by in everyday life. What would happen if the next in line to be king Jatred of the Winter Realm and queen Jasmira of the Summer Realm would fall in love. You see what the Goddess wants the heirs to see.
