No Starling shall ever know the pleasure of a Happily Ever After.
Kit Starling is returning to Neverland without Peter Pan, something she promised she would never do. But the island is falling apart, Lost Boys have been captured, Knave is under a curse, and Alice and Hook are getting closer to finding the Hideout every day. Worst of all, the Starling Curse is hanging over her, threatening to take away her true love because of mistakes made by her father and his brothers. If she can take a head start and make it back to Neverland without Peter, maybe she can get ahead of the Starling Curse. Maybe she can end all of this without losing anyone else.
The pacing in this one was a bit off, especially when it came to how the conflict played out, but I still had such a fun time! I fell so in love with these characters and Ramey's version of Neverland throughout this series and I loved just spending time with them on adventures in this book. Kit and Peter's individual character journeys and relationship arc have played out so naturally throughout the books, and I really loved their development. I also just adored every new piece of found family content with the Lost Boys (and two certain brothers).
I definitely recommend this series to Peter Pan fans, fans of Once Upon a Time season 3 who wanted more from its unrealized potential, and anyone who just wants to escape into some fairytale-esque adventures.
Love this series! Hate that it ended. You get attached to these characters and wish there was more to read about them. Jessi Ramey, you did an AMAZING job writing this trilogy! Can't wait for more stories from you.
