Blue Ocean Bob is a unique chapter book that includes great illustrations and rhyming. The main idea is setting goals and achieving them, which is a great tool for every day life. Most children will be able to read this story and feel inspired to dream and reach for the stars.

I could not help but want to tell Bob about Jesus through most of the story. Most of you know my faith is very important to me and even through Children's stories I want my Faith in Jesus to shine. Bob was seeking guidance

I received this book for free in exchange for a fair and honest review.

The Adventures of Blue Ocean Bob follows Bob and his bird Xena as Bob follows his dreams. The book is also very well illustrated which goes perfectly with this beautiful rhyming book.

This book inspired children (and their parents!) to go after their dreams. Persistence and positive attitude is highlighted as well.

I would recommend this book to children to help them achieve their dreams. This book is a valuable resource in t

My thoughts: I grew up near the sea on the North Carolina coastline and can identify with the rolling waves, breezes, and joy experienced by Bob in this lushly illustrated early chapter book for young readers. The author brings a delightful child to the readers of the book. A child just like his or herself that needs that little jolt to nudge him forth in the world to reach out and make decisions. Decisions that could lead to achievement of joyous goals in life.

We all want to find our purpose in life, and kids are no exception. In The Adventures of Blue Ocean Bob by Brooks Olbrys, Bob is a boy who is hoping to discover his purpose in life. He realizes his dream is to be a marine biologist, and he knows that he will have to work hard to achieve that goal. He enlists the help of some marine friends to find out exactly what steps he will need to take to make his dream come true.

“There once was a boy who lived close to the sea and daydreamed all day about what he might be. His island was lush and his life wasn’t bad, but he wasn’t content with the things that he had.”

Synopsis: Bob lives on a beautiful island, but something seems to be missing in his life. He sets out on a journey with his chatty hummingbird, Xena, to seek guidance from the friendly creatures of the ocean. He meets Al, a playful dolphin, Doc, a sage turtle, Earl, the clam, and Wallace the walrus. They a

The Adventures of Blue Ocean Bob by Brooks Olbrys is a series of books which educates children about the ocean, its creatures, its problems and how people can help. We received this book to give an honest review.

We have read the second book in this series and really enjoyed it but I was curious on how Blue Ocean Bob came to be so I asked the author if I could read book one and he was good with sending me a copy.
In this story we learn how Ocean Bob became an official assistant to Mary. We get to meet Doc the Turtle, Earl the Clam and Wallace the Walrus. Each animal gives him the wisdom and wise words to complete his

Written in a rhyming AABB style, the book is easily available for early readers. The words are bold and very clear and contrasting to the illustrations very well. Let’s talk abo

I would like to thank Bostick Communications and the author, Brooks Olbrys, for providing me with a copy of this book to review. As the first book in a series of early reader chapter books, The Adventures of Blue Ocean Bob - A Journey Begins provides a great foundation upon which the author can build. The reader is introduced to Bob, a young boy who lives near the sea and dreams about the world unknown to him. With his trusty guardian, a hummingbird named Xena, Bob embarks on a journey. He talks ...more

My son(two years old) got the package and got to open it. He loved the cover! He just stared at it for about two minutes and was telling me everything on it, then when he opened it he was even more excited to see all the colorful pictures. He loves the art work throughout the book.
I love that the story is easy to read and easy for him to follow. Sometimes when books are to rhyme-y they are hard for me to read a lot of. I never have been good at tongue twisters! But this book is really easy to re

Blue Ocean Bob has a great moral of continuing what you started, even when things look hopeless.

The book was a little long for my son to sit through in one sitting, enjoyed it.

The book's prose is beautiful and has a very interesting way of describing the characters and dilemmas.

My son and I really enjoyed reading this book. I loved how intense Xena's feelings got

Without giving too much away, imagine a young impressionable man, who sets out in the world full of questions, seeking advice and through exploration, experience, "Purpose, Vision, Goals, Attitude adjustment) and Persistence" he really finds his TRUE PURPOSE and happiness!

This is a Juvenile Fiction Chapter book, but I found the messages relevant and with the story line, I found that even I as an adult, who is currently realizing my own purpose in life, my vision of how I see it, defining goals o

I really like the illustrations in this book. It is an early chapter book with gorgeous color artwork on every page. The text is written in rhyming prose which is easy to read.

I enjoyed the message behind this story, but I wish that it hadn't been so straight forward. It almost came off a little bit preachy. The advice given to Bob is very abstract rather than concrete. I wonder if children will understand what it's talking about. That being said, I really enjoyed the book and I thought it wa

The story about Blue Ocean Bob takes your child on a whimsical journey. They will learn about Bob his guardian, Xena, and the other animals Doc, Earl, and Wallace.

This easy to read chapter book was a wonderful read for my daughters ages 5 and 7. Each night before bed we read a chapter out loud and discussed what happened in each chapter and tried to apply the lesson to real life. In each chapter Bob meets a new friend that teaches him something new about working hard and the steps that lead up to success. This children's book has a great story line, and great lessons for children to build confidence. I would highly recommend to any family as a "feel good" ...more

This is the first book in the Adventures of Blue Ocean Bob. Charming story. Sort of a sing-song rhyming, which I think will be good for new readers of any age. Bob sets out to learn more about himself, meets new friends along the way. Looking forward to reading the others in this series. Here is an example:

Though the path is rarely straight, to the vision be true,
for all that you seek is likewise seeking you.

This is a darling new children's chapter book. It is for early readers in grades K-4 with beautiful illustrations. It is a story of a young boy named Bob who goes on a journey to find his real purpose in life- something to give it meaning. He has a hummingbird friend named Xena who goes along with him on his adventures. Along the way he meets many ocean animal friends who give him great advice to help him along. My kids & I enjoyed this cute story. I loved the rhyming song-song aspect of it. ...more

The Adventures of Blue Ocean Bob: A Journey Begins has positive messages artfully wrapped in rhyme within the book’s colorful, eye-catching pages. While the reading level seems to target grades K-2, I think 3rd and possibly even 4th graders would enjoy Bob, a very real little boy, and his adventures. My thanks to the author for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed dipping my toes in BOB’s sea of positivity and I think you will as well…

The illustrations of this book draw you in so completely you can't help but want to read it and see what's happening. The story is just as good as the pictures and the rhyming makes it so perfect for children. This book has a great message and I just really love it. I would recommend this book (and I'll be using it when I start to home school next year!) 5 out of 5 stars.
