Maybe it's just me, but I dig "an old fashioned exposed apron sink and backmounted faucet with attached soap dish"(pg 80).
Some of the layouts, though...it's like they want their living room to smell of dinners past, like they've got nothing but time to wash glass cabinets and decorative tile of grease splatters, like a cutting boards of exposed bread and cheese is super common (cats jump on countertops). Unopened wine bottles?!

Some good points but it is outdated. Probably because it’s from 2004!

I have the Third Edition.
Great book filled with photos of a variety of kitchen styles.
Excellent suggestions and ideas. Minimal but helpful materials review.
