Recommends it for: Anyone Wishing To Self-Publish--All You'll Need
This book is great because it tells you how to get your eBook or novel up on Amazon in, seriously, less than a couple hours! The author didn't say that, but I am.

Now, having said that, I don't believe the author would recommend that anyone actually spend only an hour publishing his or her masterpiece, but if you want to go the Indie route, The Global Indie Author: How Anyone Can Self-Publish in the U.S. and Worldwide Markets, is the ultimate how-to book for you.

This book is so informative, so t

This third edition features a new cover, new subtitle -- to reflect the truly global phenomenon that self-publishing has become -- and a great deal of new content (over 80 pages). The technical chapters have been completely overhauled to deal with the complexities of image handling, the increasing frustrations of font handling, and the divergence of ebook technology away from the upload-your-Word-doc-to-Amazon model that the industry was initially built upon. New content includes:

I was fortunate enough to meet Ms. Demers at a local writer's event and to have purchased the latest copy of her book, "The Global Indie Author." I self-published a set of books many years ago without the luxury of her experience, and it was a challenge. With today's new technology and the latest options for publishing: e-books, vanity press, POD, the world of self-publishing has gotten even more complicated and complex. The adage that, "You don't know what you don't know" could be a slogan for ...more

I have read many books about self-publishing in the past few years and have to say how impressed I am with the incredible detail and research that went into to putting this book together.

The author doesn't merely quickly gloss over topic areas, but digs into insightful detail in various areas. I have never seen, for example, anybody (outside of selected publishers, selected booksellers and keen book nerds) take the time to properly explain an ISBN and the importance of one. Demers goes through v

If there would be 6 or 10 stars, I would give them all for this fantastic book!!!

The amount of titles about self-publishing is skyrocketing - but most books are not written by professionals. I guess I read them all - and did some not even finish... They are either full of false hype or lack insider knowledge of the industry - and even the basic professional book marketing essentials.

The Global Indie Author is and exception - and the ONLY BOOK an author ever needs!!!
No matter if beginner or sea

This how-to book has helped me self-publish my novel, "Appalachian Carnival," so much so that I don't know what I would have done without it—especially when it came to formatting the book for a Kindle edition.

I've read several do-it-yourself publishing manuals, but this is by far the best. Part One spells out how easy it is to self-publish. Part Two addresses the difficulties, the controversies, the contrarieties, the downsides and upsides, even the sideward sides, of dozens of things to do and

i am not an author, but I live with one, and I have to say: this book could save your marriage! Lol....you know the deal--you're watching a great show on TV and suddenly you hear "Oh *&%#@" from somewhere down the hall. It's your Indie-self-published SA (significant author) verbally accompanying the "tear her/his hair out" scenario because they can't remember how to do something they can't even describe about getting their book published. this book covers pretty much every tantrum-inducing compl ...more

Read the excerpt from amazon showed that this book contains some interesting stuf, but, apprently, also some things that aren't so much. So I'm still not confident this is the book I'm looking for.
Although, from what I saw, the author does try to do what she sets out to do and look at things from the perspective of an author who's not from the USA, and that's something others haven't delved into yet.

If you are going to self-publish, this is the book to use. Period. It's clearly written, in both summary and detail, to take the would-be author through the tricks and traps of getting published. An indispensable reference tool. ...more

Bad, Bad ... in all my devices it download only the cover. Pretty expensive for just a cover. And obviously no way to get my money back.
