Hello GoodReads! I'm Diamond Drake, the author of Imagined Love, For the Love of Jade (the sequel and 2013 International Book Award WINNER!), and Love's Fool (2012 Editor's Choice). Ever since the first grade I dreamed of seeing my name on the back of a book. To be able to see that dream become a reality has been a huge blessing and I'm SO grateful. The best part of this experience has been connecting with readers and knowing that they're able to feel the same emotions I felt when I wrote, as they read. I LOVE the heartfelt messages and reviews and the impact that my characters have on others. It's amazing and beyond my wildest dreams. Thank you to all who've become fans of my work and especially to those who have become friends. It means the world to me.

Here are a few facts about me . . . I was born and raised in Gary, IN, but I now reside in Stockton, CA with my wonderful husband of seventeen years, my two teenage daughters, and my two German Shepherds. A few weird facts . . . I always write the end of my books first and work my way to the beginning. For some strange reason I write better when Coraline is playing in the background. And I'm deathly afraid of opening a can of biscuits!!! HA,HA,HA. I hate the unexpected pop!

Well, I hope you enjoy my books. Feel free to leave a message or visit me at www.diamonddrakebooks.com or facebook.com/diamonddrakewrites I'd love to hear from you!

Well I never...... I really did not expect to enjoy a "love story", because I am all into fast paced books with action, erotica, twists etc.... If I could have kept my eyes open I would have read the entire book in one session. From the start you knew there was "something" coming and the author made sure she grabbed you with that a few times during the book before that "explosion" of twists and turns and backstabbing actually erupted. The book is well written (and edited), I must say that I enjoyed her style of writing. I did get a bit lost in the "girls" conversations and had to read their conversations a bit slower to grasp the "slang" dialogue. I caught myself giggling a few times at how I was trying to pronounce the words just right..... A few scenes in the book also had me laughing out loud. Although the ending was kind of predictable, the added "extra" was not (dont want to spoil anything by saying what it is) and that was nice. Diamond, I really did enjoy your book! I truely hope you get published (like proper published) cause I think there is really a market for your books!

******I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review********

The book is loaded with DRAMA,tom foolery, and lies. Madeline, her sister Christa and their clique of friends share more secrets and lies than anyone I have ever seen or read about. To be honest the book started off a little slow, but once you get passed about 10-15% of the book, things start to take off. You will not be able to put it down. Maddie and her friends are off the chain. For most part of the book, I couldnt stand Madeline. She was selfish, and self-centered. I hated her for what she put Sidney through. He loved her and she would walk all over him b/c he allowed it and wanted her so badly. It wasnt until Ezra came into the picture that I started to like her. I saw her grow up a little and I loved the relationship she had with his daughter. I enjoyed reading about women my age. For the most part, the characters I am used to reading about are mostly in their twenties. These women were in their 30 and older. I know (or used to be friends with) a chic that acted like each one of the ladies in Maddie's clique. For that reason alone, is why I dont hang with that many females. They run their mouths too much and want to tell your business you get mad at them. These ladies "ran" their mouths like no body's business. They were constantly talking about each other, heck for the longest I was trying to figure why they were even friends. With that being said, my absolute favorite scene in this book was Avis birthday party. The only twist that I was able to guess was Prim's new man. All the rest, I would have never thought possible. My mouth hit the floor with the revelation of Raye Ann's secret. I am still in shock about that one. I have only seen that happen in movies. I have never read about that in a book. I actually feel sorry for her and I hope she gets her HEA!

Speaking of HEAs........ that ending................. I to know more about the other characters. I am glad that Madeline got her HEA after everything that hit the fan but what about Deidre, Raye Ann,and Christa? What happened to them? This book needs to be turned into a series or something cause I need more on these chicks lives. As triflin as they are, I need more information. I need a book 2, please and thank you. LOL!

Diamond Drake is a gifted writer with a great imagination. She does an excellent job bringing her characters to life and putting them in situations that we can relate to. It truly was impossible to put down. They way it's written is strategic and effective in keeping the reader wanting more. Overall, I loved it and I don't regret my purchase at all. I'm just sad I finished it already! Can't wait for the next one!

This is my first read from Me Drake. Loves Fool was packed with drama and questions from the start. The Stiles women were unlucky in love and searching for acceptance. I would love to see the other characters resurface in their own stories and find the love they are searching for. GreAt job Ms. Drake!

This was my first read from Diamond Drake, and I enjoyed this read from her.

It wasn’t the type of romance I’d initially expected when I picked it up, but then again, that’s the beauty of Love’s Fool. There were plenty of twists and turns, and some definite moments where you wanted to reach into the pages and choke some sense into them. For that, I have to give Diamond kudos, that doesn’t happen to me very often when I’m reading.

I’m used to keep up with all of the characters that were thrown into the mix, and the secrets that each of them kept were crazy to say the least! There wasn’t a sense of getting lost in the story or having the characters lose their voices or feel like one character was like the others. Hopefully sometime in the future we will get a chance to know some of the characters a little more in a follow up novel (insert hint-hint here LOL). The sex scenes were hot and sexy, too, but not too over the top to where it felt like it was unbelievable, either.

The mystery of how the secrets were almost revealed were a good touch, and I am a big fan of trying to guess exactly what happened or what the secret might have been, so that aspect of the book had me hooked.

Love’s Fool put me in the mind of the first time I fell in love, and the first time I was a fool for someone I thought I loved. If you want a story that brings out emotions you never thought you’d have toward fictional characters, pick up this book.

This was a very enjoyable read. It’s definitely not your run of the mill romance. There were plenty of twists with drama to match and the sex scenes were steamy. I often found myself getting frustrated with several of the characters and wanting to grab them and just shake some sense into them. This was a very busy story in that there were quite a few characters to keep up with, each having a secret or a little drama of their own. Normally I would have found this somewhat overwhelming but the author did a great job of separating them and giving them enough depth so that I didn’t feel like I was missing something. There were definitely some characters I would have liked to have gotten to know a little more about but I was satisfied with what was given. The author was quite good at bringing the character to the brink of revealing a secret only to pull back the reigns and save it for later. It was truly like a soap opera that kept me on edge. There were definitely no dull moments or lulls in this book. Well done Diamond Drake! I look forward to reading your other works.

This is my first read from this author and I must say Love's Fool was full of twist, turns, and mega drama. Every character has a secret and a story and I would love to see Mrs. Drake write a few more books going into detail about a few of them. I love the character Ezra and pray that he is not only a book made man...lol. Mrs. Drake did a fantastic job of making you want more by feeding you tidbits of what was going to happen if you kept reading. Everything tied together perfectly in the end and I definitely hope that there will be a sequel very soon to this novel. I must admit I had many emotions reading this book! I experienced laughter, crying, joy, sadness, and anger in these few short pages of this book. I could not put it down once I began to read it! I would definitely recommend this author and this book! I look forward to reading more of her work. Mrs. Drake you are a welcoming and refreshing new author that will attract many with your style of writing!! Great Job!!!

My sister, friends, and I have basically overdosed on Diamond Drake novels for the past few days! It was like an obsession that once we finished one book we had to read the next. I thought I knew what to expect with this one but it was Soooo not what I thought. I laughed so hard. At other times I wanted to choke the hell out of some of these women for being foolish. I was anxious to get to the party where all the drama went down and I was not disappointed. Drama, drama, drama! Even to the last page Diamond surprised me. I would highly recommend this to anyone that likes drama and being kept on the edge of their seats. Great, great read.

Diamond Drake's Love's Fool was definitely a drama packed novel. Boy, these women were a hot mess and the men no different at times. Drake again makes her readers want to seek vengeance on the characters in some scenes while others you just want to say "duh" or cry for the mistakes they make in trying not to be love's fool. There are many characters in "Love's Fool", but they all play pivotal roles in the story.

I am trying so hard not to give out too much of the happenings but it is so difficult after reading Drake's earlier works -- "Imagine Love" and "For the Love of Jade." Just know this, we all have our lil' secrets and in "Love's Fool" all the secrets come out in very suspenseful and dramatic ways. I, myself can usually figure out what is going to happen in a story I select, but wow I just didn't see it coming at all in this good read.

Do I recommend this novel? Yes I do and I would even like to see a possible sequel(hint-hint).

Love's Fool was a good read. Madeline, her sister & several of her friends all appeared to be looking for love while harboring secrets.
Madeline had a friends with benefits relationship with Sydney though he wanted more he never seemed to be the man she gave her heart to. After Ezra & his daughter Aura entered her life things seemed to take a turn for thr better in the "love" department for Madeline. Even while she was jealous of his ex & child's mother Prim with her exotic looks.
This book had unexpected plot twists & turns but was a good book that keeps you intrigued and wondering whats going to happen next & to whom is it going to happen to. I would like to read a sequel if one is written about the other "ladies" in MadMadeline's circle of friends.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review from the author and Making Connections group on Goodreads.

I've been reading books by Author Diamond Drake all week and she is a quite amazing author. He story line in this book depicts Madeline and her group of "friends" filled w/secrets, sex, lies, & drama. Diamond has made all of her "characters" humanized in that we can relate and possibly see bits and pieces of ourself in them. I wonder if there is a continuation to this story? I fell in love with your work Ms. Diamond :) now what to read next...

This review is from: Love's Fool (Paperback)
I really liked Love's Fool. It was a bit different from Drake's previous two, Imagined Love and For the Love of Jade, but I truly enjoyed it. Some of the characters made me want to come through the pages to shake some sense into them but that's a testament to the writing ability of the author. The ending was satisfying but it definitely left the doors open for a part two. I hope there is one because I'd love to know what happened next. Great job, Diamond Drake. I look forward to more from this author.
