When the kitchen turns into a syrup-filled mess and a riot breaks out at a basement sale, the Brown family knows that Paddington has been out and about once again. Reprint.
Michael Bond, CBE was an English children's author. He was the creator of Paddington Bear and wrote about the adventures of a guinea pig named Olga da Polga, as well as the animated BBC TV series The Herbs. Bond also wrote culinary mystery stories for adults featuring Monsieur Pamplemousse and his faithful bloodhound, Pommes Frites.
I love these books so much; genuinely laugh out loud funny. It's hard to believe I first read them before my age had even reached double figures! Mind you, my childhood self probably would have been in a state of mild disbelief if you'd told him I would re-read them in my forties! :-)
Another charming tale about Paddington and the Brown family!
Ages: 5+
Cleanliness: for goodness' sake, goodness gracious, Mercy, Gosh, and Crikey are used. Mentions a man smoking a pipe. Father Christmas is in a play Paddington partakes in.

With each review, I provide Content Considerations, mentioning any objectionable content I come across so that parents and/or conscientious readers (like me) can determine beforehand whether they want to read a book or not. Content surprises are super annoying, especially when you’re 100+ pages in, so here’s my attempt to help you avoid that!

Michael Bond's lovable creation Paddington Bear tries to make toffee, takes part in a TV quiz show, goes shopping in a department store & much more in another series of laugh out loud adventures. What a legend!
If you're a fan of Winnie the Pooh, you have to give Paddington a try. He's delightful, as are the Browns, and this book is a treat for the whole family. Highly recommend!
I'm really enjoying this series (read by Hugh Bonneville) and the escapade's Paddington always gets into. Definitely recommend this series to younger audiences who want to follow the adventures of a bear who comes from Peru and now lives with the Brown Family in Winter Gardens in London.
2nd time reading
This cheered me up when I needed it! I love reading about Paddington's adventures and misadventures. Always comforting.
kažkaip atrodė skubotos tos istorijos šį kartą, arba man jau pabodo 🤷♀️ bet pridedu “investigate/consider the matter” ir “first big shock of the day” į savo vocab for sure
Another great collection of Paddington’s adventures. He’s so funny and especially when he takes things literally and gets himself into trouble. The garden and Mr Gruber’s outing two classic examples of this. If ever you feel down reading Paddington lifts your spirits.
Poor Paddington in this short collection the little bear gets himself into a game show and wins 500 pounds, tries making toffee and makes a huge mess in the kitchen and also ends up in the hospital with a bad case of "The Toffee Drips". He is nothing if not adept at keeping both the Browns and their housekeeper Mrs. Bird on their toes with his delightful antics as he has his many (mis) adventures while learning to do life in London....Quick and easy read for children of all ages Paddington is a remarkable little bear from darkest Peru befriended and taken home by The Browns (not sure they really knew what they were getting into LOL)
So funny, especially the game show chapter! Mum and I had so many laughs, I love Paddington's antics and how the Brown's just accept it and shrug it off, their family wouldn't be complete without this loveable bear, and I enjoy reading all the different troubles they all find themselves dobbed into!
For some reason, even thought so far the Paddington books are pretty much all exactly alike, they are still wildly entertaining, and my 6-year-old and I cackle away the whole time...
This remains a classic, I still love it very much, and Hugh Bonneville does a wonderful job reading. The Christmas pantomime chapter lives in my brain forever.
Another fun collection of stories about the hijinks Paddington gets into at number 32 Windsor Gardens! I read this with my son and we both enjoyed it 👍
Endlessly charming and filled with delightful antics..
Recommended to any Mommy of a child from 5 to 13 ...13 for the more whimsical children. And also recommended for adults who love reading classic children's literature.
