Equally important, he answers the questions that parents are most likely to What should they observe in their children? What questions should they ask their doctor? Which tests are necessary? What risk factors should they be aware of? And how can they help their children cope with the social and psychological aspects of their illness. This book is the most comprehensive guide I have found to rheumatologic conditions in children. It is written in plain, easy to understand language, despite the complicated and detailed medical focus. I highly recommend this publication for any parent with a newly dignosed child. Seasoned parents can also benefit from this work, as it is an excellent reference for related syndromes and conditions that may develop in tandem with a child's original diagnosis.

This is the best resource I've found yet to learn about my child's arthritis. I had a lot of questions, and the book helped me answer many of them, and then helped me understand the disease well enough to articulate other questions more clearly to my doctor. It's well-written and easy to understand. If you're interested in the various forms of juvenile arthritis, medications and treatments involved, and especially if you have a child recently diagnosed, this is a must-have for your bookshelf.
