The Good Housekeeping Cookery Book is a must-have in the kitchen. It provides a very solid introduction to all cooking and baking. All the important techniques and recipes are there, written very clearly in a detailed format. There are tips on what to look for when buying ingredients and many basic recipes.
It’s a book I refer to time and time again for recipes and how-tos , and the best advice. My book was printed in 1998, and although there is perhaps a slightly different approach in 2025, my book is still of great value to me in my kitchen. This book is by The Good Housekeeping Institute- a household name.
I highly recommend The Good Housekeeping Cookery Book.

An oldie but a goodie. Great reference book covering every type of recipe. My only slight gripe is lack of photos.
