Forward Passes is the 2nd book in the Lumberjacks series by Jami Davenport. I LOVE sports themed books for many reasons, mostly of the perverted nature, but I especially love the ones focused on football. It’s not only my favorite sport to watch, it’s also my favorite one to read.

Our Hero of the story, Tyler was first introduced to us in the first book because not only is he the quarterback on the Lumberjacks team, he’s also the cousin to t

What a wonderful and very hot romance! As a football fan myself (Go Cowboys!) I really loved the story from Tyler’s point of view and seeing that as perfect he looks from the outside he has real insecurities inside that he just didn’t want to deal with.

One thing I found very interesting was Lavender’s back story. It deals with a real problem that does in fact happen in families where the parents are no longer together. It is called parental alienation syndrome or PAS for short. I think that Ms.

The two first meet when Tyler's uncle bequeaths him a rundown mansion in the San Juan Islands. In order to inherit the potential cash cow, Tyler must live in the home for 90 days. If he leaves town, the mansion will go to his sexy new neighbor, Lavender. She has plans to bring his uncle's dream of an affordable veteran's retreat to life. Only she lacks the funds.

Tyler and Lavender clash immediately. She finds him arrogant and has a serious chip concerning jocks. Despite mutual dislike, the two h

My Review:
After the very first chapter of this book, I was in love with it and looking to see if it was available in print to add to my permanent library (sadly, right now, it's not). Right away, I need to give kudos to Jami Davenport. She wrote a hero (and heroine although she isn't quite as bad) who has some serious flaws, which could make him really unlikable. But he's not...she creates a great balance so you can remain empathetic to him even when he's acting/thinking like a real jerk.

“He was just a guy gifted with an athletic body and a no-quit attitude. He didn't deserve this: the adulation, the money, the fame, none of it.”

Cocky and arrogant yet charming and deliciously sexy, Tyler is the man every man wants to be and every woman wants to sleep with. However, something profound happened that changed the way he looks at the world and his life. It all started with the death of a young man and spiraled further with the death of an elderly relative. Questions of self-worth a

Review as appears on my blog Amy's Book World:

Football, sexy men and hot steamy love scenes. What more could you ask for? Jami Davenport brings it all to her writing which makes her books a delectable naughty treat. Reading this installment of the series, the sexual chemistry between Lavender and Tyler just flows off the page. These two dance the verbal tango back and forth, generating a heat between the two that can not be denied. When they do get together , you cry out "Finally!". because it

I received a review copy in exchange for my participation in the book tour.

My actual rating for this book is 3.5 stars.

Readers should know that this book is not for the faint of heart. If language and steam-up-every-window-in-the-house sex isn't your cup of tea, you should most likely avoid this book.

First of all, Ms. Davenport did an amazing job making you dislike Tyler, but secretly want to jump into bed with him, as he's the best Bad Boy character I've read in a long time. He is such an as

As a sports fan and an avid romance reader, you’d think that I would have enjoyed this book more than I did. It’s not that it’s a bad story. But it’s more I had trouble connecting with the characters and their motivations.

Let’s start with Tyler. He’s fresh off winning a Super Bowl and now he’s stuck in the San Juan Islands for a couple months in order to claim an inheritance. He c

Forward Passes is about this mega-sports star, Tyler Harris, who is said to be the best quarterback in the NFL -- and the hottest. He's won two superbowls in two years, and he's in his prime. Except for some reason, he's losing his touch with the game. After his uncle dies, he goes to San Juans to find he's been left a broken down mansion. Here he finds more than just a mansion as he meets Lavender Mead -- his next door neighbor who has sworn off all jocks due to her father who abandoned her fam ...more

My newest obsession comes in the form of a Sports Romance series – Jami Davenport’s Seattle Lumberjacks! I read the first book, Fourth and Goal, and I NEEDED more so I immediately downloaded Forward Passes!

I had one problem with Forward Passes, Derek’s jerk of a cousin. Tyler. (Yet that didn’t damper my enthusiasm to read this second book, despite knowing it was Tyler’s story!) Luckily, Tyler redeemed himself in this one – sure, he’s still a jerk. But? Some guys are always jerks, I supposed. And

I was given a copy of this book to write an honest review for Netgalley and Cocktails and Books.

FORWARD PASS is a charming story about Joe, a retired professional quarterback. Since retiring Joe spends all his time on charity work and his sports show, but he is still having a difficult time trying to overcome his wild reputation from his younger days. When Joe decides to visit his best friend in Austin, Texas the last thing he expects is to spend time with Shay,

Wow, completely in love with Tyler! Just when you think the series can't get any better you are WRONG! I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves football and romance.
Tyler is on top of his game with football, but not with life. He hides his real feelings by being cocky, rude, arrogant, and a foul mouth butt. Not sure but I like when the male is arrogant butt because I know I am going to get an amazing woman in the story.

Forward Passes is the Second book in the Seattle Lumberjacks Series. After reading the book, I didn't think it would be possible to top it or even be as good but I was wrong. Jami Davenport didn't disappoint in Forward Passes. This was Tyler and Lavender' s Story. Even though this is a Football series, they are heartwarming, touching, funny books. I truly can't say enough good things about them.

This is the second book in the Seattle Lumberjack series but they can be read easily in any order which is the way I like a series. This is Quarterback Tyler Harris's story. With two super bowl rings he should be on top of the world but he ends the season jaded and questioning his passion for the sport and even life. He has a reputation for being a real bad ass, potty mouth and all but after the death of a young athlete he finds himself fighting to hold this image.

I really wanted to love this book. But I had a really hard time getting past the arrogance of Tyler and the refusal of Lavender to pull her head out of her ass and realize the truth. I also don't get how she could make excuses for certain people, even after learning of all the crap from her childhood.

I did love that Lavender was, for the most part, an independent woman who recognized her sexuality and her needs. While conflicted, she did accept that Tyler was screaming hot and a sexual dynamo. T

Forward Passes is the second book in the Seattle Lumberjack series and gives us Tyler's story, who was introduced in book one. Yeah, he's arrogant. Yeah, he can be an ass. But it's all am image he projects. Lavender has been burned by men involved in sports. She had no wish to get involved with an athlete. When Tyler's uncle dies and leaves him the family estate on an island with poor cell services and a stipulation he can't leave the island, the two of them are thrown together. He's introduced ...more

To say that Tyler has had a chip on his shoulders for a while, is an understatement. Cocky, showboating quarterback just giving attitude in a fake persona; However, that's not really who he is. You could tell in book 1 of this series that he had things he was hiding, but just not sure what it was. He actually has feelings but unsure of how to show them. Then he meets Lavender... And he starts to slowly creep out of his shell. The chemistry between them is

In general the book was mediocre. Nothing special came out to play.

Arrogant jock inherit an island mansion from his old dead uncle who befriended his young neighbour who was the heroine. The jock had to live in the mansion for three months to earn his inheritance.
The hero meets the heroine sparks fly and yada, yada, yada, yada....

The heroine was annoying and weak letting her bitter and angry grenmother control her life to the ninth. She was twenty seven... pppffffffff realy?

This book was okay, not as great a story as the first but just as hot. Tyler & Lavendar are scorching together when they get past their dislike for each other. Tyler's lost his edge & love for the game of football & Lavender has lost her father to the game years ago. Having to remain on an island to inherit a family mansion, Tyler meets Lavendar & decides if he's stuck there he might as well make the best of it. This was a very interesting read. The topic and back story where so graphic it makes me want to look at my own relationship with my kids. Lavender the leading lady of this story has to deal with some very real and disturbingly common problems for divorced children. It was wonderful to see the growth and development of the Star quarterback of the Jack team. This book has a lot of meat and is really not intended for young than 18 readers. The storyline is good. The sex is hot. Above all the touchi ...more

FORWARD PASSES is one of those formula romance novels that will not disappoint readers of this genre. The men are tempting and the women are feisty, the romance sizzling and the bed scenes scorching. Seattle Lumberjacks 2 might feel and sound familiar but the packaging JDavenport wrapped it in is crackling with sexual tension and funny interludes that made FORWARD PASSES a very good short novel to pass the time with

Ms. Davenport's style captivates and brings you along for the ride. You find yourself laughing, crying, holding your breath, and drawn into the lives of the characters. You are caught up in the hot and sexy world of football players and their lives. It also makes you realize that not everything is as perfect and pretty when you are in the limelight. I give this book 5 starts, you won't be able to put it down until you finish it.

This book is okay, and I'd probably rather give it 2.5 stars, because I don't know if I'd go so far as to call it good. I was often bored, and kept checking to see how much farther I had to go until it was over. It seemed like the author thought they could say "C*ck" and "Fu@k" a bunch of times, add some steamy sex scenes, and call it a story. Truthfully, I only bought the book because I thought the cat was funny when I read the sample. And honestly, the cat is the best part of the book. 2.5 sta ...more

First off, can I say how much I love that Ms. Davenport writes guys so well? There’s testosterone aplenty in this story, but it doesn’t eclipse the relationship between Tyler and Lavender. Those two have got it bad. The sparks fly between them from the start and they’ve both got solid reasons to not get together. I enjoyed them sparring and getting along both. And the getting along? Sizzling!

Bottom line – I’m not a diehard sports fan, but I’ve become a Lumberjacks fan. I loved reading this book
