For Luna Kalen, the line between reality and a dream is hard to recognize.
Recovering from a car accident, the solitude at the coast is meant to be therapeutic. But Luna soon finds it more than her idle mind can handle.
After exploring a dangerous stretch of shoreline, Luna returns home with a mysterious man she discovers in a cave. Little does Luna know that this man is about to fill her world with sinful pleasures…and blood-thirsty vampires.
When reality and fantasy collide, unimaginable dangers lurk, revelations are revealed, and darkest desires are fulfilled.
But if you think the happily ever after is the sign of the ending, it’s really only the beginning.
I love anything and everything Vampires. Dark gothic imagery gets my heart pumping. Men with muscular physiques, pale skin and a downright right bad-boy look (not to mention fangs) makes me weak in the knees.
And this was a problem for me.
I was born and raised in Hawaii- not quite the right setting to allow myself to delve deep into these dark passions. I lived in perpetual sunshine so having a delicious fantasy of a sexy vampire brushing up against me also came with images of 3rd degree burns. Ouch! So the moment I relocated to Colorado, my love for vampires rekindled and my passion never burned brighter. The setting was just perfect; the cold, misty mountaintops, creepy graveyards, enchanting forests and howling creatures in the woods. Add to all of this the fact that I moved to Manitou Springs, a town rumored to have wizards, witches and vampires and I was truly at home.
Don't believe me about my town?
We have annual coffin races through the streets, a 500-million-year old underground world as a major tourist attraction, our own castle at the end of the town, a haunted cemetery and fabled underground tunnels. Now how is that for the setting for a Vampires series?
THE AMBROSE HEIGHT VAMPIRES SERIES Set in Manitou Springs, Ambrose Heights is the gated community that sits hit up on the mountain, overlooking the town. The town’s residents don’t quite know what to make of the mysterious neighborhood. If they did some investigation, they would realize what they were living among. After all, Ambrose translates to Immortal.
And slated as a seven-book series, you’ll have enough wild and seducing vampire tales to sink your teeth into.
This book took me by surprise. I was hooked from the very beginning. I never suspected the characters relationship.( I don't want to say more and spoil anything). Renny and Luna's feeling were obvious and just so sweet but Luna and Trevor were so hot. The creatures in the cave were really scary. The research the doctors were doing was amazing. I loved this book because it was not the regular vampire love story. It was so well written and the ending was such a surprise!! I recommend this book to anyone who loves vampires and likes a very unique story!
There was so much to enjoy about this juicy, naughty, spicy erotic romance… It was truly my guilty pleasure last month, heating up the last cold month of winter. Maya DeLeina offers up a delightfully ambitious serving of sensual delights combined with unexpected and fascinating plot twists. She delivers a wholly original treatment of vampires -- difficult to achieve successfully in today's literary world -- and took me away from my landscape of snow and ice to the gorgeous beaches, mysterious caves, and heady pleasures of Hawaii with her beautiful descriptions.
I don't normally read erotica, but delving into DeLeina's words was like indulging in an exotic chocolate dessert while lounging on silken cushions by the pool, or bathing in a luxurious bubble bath… And I have to say that my favourite character was Icky, the snake. DeLeina's depiction of Luna's exotic pet is beautiful -- the animal is the best treated fictional invertebrate I've ever had the pleasure of reading about, bringing me back to my own daydreams of having an in-house terrarium for a nice big snake.
If you decide to pick up this instalment of her Naughty Vampire series, make sure you have a lovely glass of wine and a candle lit for ambience. And a fan, for the really steamy bits. ;)
Caution: this is NOT a safe romance! Explicit, graphic imagery is involved.
I received this book for review from HeartFelt Promos and the author. I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review.
Renny Morgan is having a very sexy discussion with Luna Kalen and that’s just the Prologue. This is Luna’s story to tell so it’s told in the first person. And be warned, the language is graphic.
Luna has a very sexy encounter with a man she’s just met – a man without a name. How many of you would like to have one of those same encounters? This may be one of those cases where you’re either going to have to open a window or turn on a fan. For me, thank goodness it’s wintertime.
Trevor Gary is Luna’s mystery man. Their stories are perplexing but also seem to be so similar. This vampire tale is different from any ones that I have read before – our author has put a slight twist to it. And that is what makes it so interesting. Maya’s book is like an addiction – once you start you just don’t want to put it down.
The Epilogue will come as a surprise and will have you questioning all that you have read. I felt it was a great ending and it will leave you wanting more. The second book hasn’t come out yet but she does have other vampire books out that you can read until the next Naughty Vampire makes its appearance.
This was a romance with plenty of twists and turns, a bit of a spooky edge and not to mention lots of steamy scenes that make you want a man like Trevor in your life. The scene with the “rubber” men was quite freaky, I don’t think I have ever found a read that actually unnerved me a little bit as this one did in that scene and to find out what they actually were was quite sad.
I wasn’t quite sure where the read was going at the start with the Prologue, starting off with Luna and Renny, then the entire read being about Trevor and Luna, but once you reach the very end you get enlightened to the whole situation. I did not see the ending panning out the way it did; the truth unravelling and everything being revealed as to the story behind Trevor and Luna’s connection, then the whole story got turned on its head yet again in the Epilogue!
The way this author writes is so smooth and enthralling; the whole story flows so perfectly and always keeps you guessing. It was a tough decision trying to rate this one, but I have decided on three and a half stars bordering very close to four stars.
If you want to read a book that makes you wonder if it is real or make believe than this is the book for you.
It starts out with Luna Kalen and Renny Morgan talking about his book he wrote and used Luna's name. She created the cover for the book and things get pretty steamy at the café. Next thing you know Luna is having blackouts and has been in an accident. She comes to a cave and rescues a man named Trevor.
You are left wondering if you missed something or if it is real or what. I loved it and it kept me on the edge of my seat guessing.
Blood of Luna is cute and funny with plenty of both silly and sexy moments mixed together with some interesting vampires that will definitely pique your curiosity. Although there were a few confusing plot twists in the story its well thought out and her love scenes are steamy. Luna for me is a confusing character because her personality seems really contradictory however it doesn't make her less likable. I enjoyed this book, its worth the read if you have a craving for a paranormal romance.
Maya did it again! Another hot and steamy romance. I was drawn in from the first page and I could not put it down. Without giving anything away I will say that the plots and twists in this story had me trying to read faster to find out how it all works out. I highly recommend this book and this author.
Maya Deleina creates a descriptive tale in this journey between reality and fantasy. Luna Kalen seems displaced and in a state of limbo from a prior car accident. While Luna is out on her secluded early morning stroll along the beach, curiosity gets the best of her and she ventures into a near by cave. What Luna finds in the cave will alter life as she knows it. All that she thought was a fantasy can turn out to be real. Or it could be the other way around.
Luna is a graphic design artist that just received great news from Renny Morgan, a author of a soon to be released vampire book. While driving to their destination the fog starts to roll in. Chapter one opens with Luna strolling along the shoreline just before sunrise, in her therapeutic ritual after the car accident. On this particular morning Luna’s interest is piqued by the caves near by that she has heard so much about. As she ventures into the cave she has a suspicion that someone is in there. She finds a dirty, nude mystery man. She allows the man to follow her to her bed and breakfast to clean up. Along the way she notices how handsome the mysterious man is.
Between Luna’s undiagnosed black outs and the unprotected rush to have sex with the handsome stranger I was left with a reminded that yes this is truly fantasy. This author has a talent for extraordinary details. The steamy sex scenes were visually appealing. At this point I was curious as to where the plot was headed. I kept reading to find out where the mystery would lead and would the plot pick up.
The introduction to the vampires were very descriptive and quite spooky. At times the details were gruesome as would be expected with a vampire novel. Something was missing in the plot of the vampire origination. Personally, it opened a lot of questions that didn’t seem to be answered. Characters were popping up out of the blue. At one point I was wondering if this was a sequel to a previous book. Maybe it was due to the fact that the vampire characters were briefly mentioned without much details or description to really get to know them. Although I know this is a work of fantasy, the author’s vampire section didn’t make much sense. I wanted to feel the vampire as something that could be believed as real. This wasn’t the case in this novel. The author’s approach was different and interesting so therefore I kept reading because I was interested in how this all was going to play out.
I thoroughly enjoyed the author’s writing style. She has a style that gives you enough details that the description of the surrounding elements make you feel you are there in the scenes. For a book to have very few characters, the author left little room to create in-depth character description. I didn’t connect with the characters, nor did I get a visual of how the characters would look. It was as if they only had names.
The brief epilogue did reveal the twist and helped clear up the cliff hanger left in the prologue. Overall the book is a nice combo of fantasy, sex and suspension.
If you enjoy a hot and steamy descriptive quick read, I definitely would recommend this book.
