The story is worth a 4 star, but I gave it a 5 because the story was so related to me.. I could see me in Viren (the lead role of the story)...

There are no others to describe the story.. It is a definite read..

It is not possible to believe that this is the author's first book..

I am sure it will make you cry.. A heart gripping read...

With the completion of my Post Graduation I completed another book in my one-night-read manner. This time I got “I’m Heartless… A Real Confession” by Vinit K. Bansal.
The book comes with a tagline “This is not only a story rather it is real confession of a lover” that you can see with its cover picture that indicates it’s not a regular love story that will end with “and they lived happily ever after”. It a tale of a guy Viren, whom author mate in a really strange situation where he was about to die and the Author got to know about just a bit of his love story. Later Viren finds the author trustworthy and ask him to write his story as novel and author did that. Story run around a post graduating student who is, according to author, said to be a day dreamer, an egoistic, a hopeless romantic and an attention seeker afflicted with a bizarre madness and arrogance engulfing him. And throughout the story you can find many places where you can feel it clearly but one thing author missed was Highly Self Deluded mindset of Viren. He was full of I, Me, Myself behavior but found no quality in him that can make him so dominant person and for me he was just a regular guy. He fall in love with a girl and in the meantime several other girls fall in love with him, but for the sake of his loyalty for his True Love, he ignored them all, including himself. He has friends Like Max, Sunny, Freddy, Jiya, Om and Mansi (Who later became the main lead of story) and they did their part very well, exactly like the saying “we all are meant to do our part”.
Initial chapters are quite out of flow and as I heard earlier that books from Mahaveer Publishers are full of spelling and grammatical mistakes, this one too had ample of them which contributed by a fair margin in breaking the flow here and there quite often. The flow is scattered till chapter 8 and 9 but after chapter 10, story picked up the flow and sailed smoothly till the end. Every chapter after chapter 9 was in correct context and maintained the same pace with every passing chapter. Events were described in detail and expressions were self descriptive, unlike early chapters where I found some unnecessary detailing of expression (like and exclamation mark describes a Shock on its own, you don’t need to express it, and similarly many expressions are self understood).
I like the way of storytelling of Mr. Bansal, considering “I’m Heartless” being his first novel but language needs a lot work. It’s losing edge at many places, sometimes Start of chapter is really good but after proceeding further it let down me. But I really liked the simplicity of language; it’s a true I-can-read-without-dictionary language and I’m sure these grammar issues will resolve in his next (?) for sure.
Few things I noticed were,
1. Self Contradiction: In chapter 6, Author said Viren told everything about Pari to Mansi, but in chapter 17, Mansi says she know nothing about Pari. How it happened?
2. Chapter 8 broke the thought flow in really bad manner that I almost thought of leaving the book for a while and continue reading later sometime but somehow I read it in one go.
3. Chapter 9 did nothing but felt like an attempt to cut a few chapters by editor and say a lot many things in few pages, that was really irritating part of the book. But later after chapter 9 flows was smooth and just perfect.
4. Author said Viren was a poet, but no piece of his poems can be found in book, disappointing for me.
5. I strongly felt need of an Epilog, because I was eager to know what is current situation.

To conclude this review I’d say, I’m heartless is a book that you probably won’t read if you just hear its name due to perception of just another love story, which it’s really not.
It’s a mature story and Mature because the way characters are behaving are really appropriate for PG students. There are many moments when you will find yourself smiling like a nut and shouting out “Damn! It’s true!!” real loud because they are written with very keen observation. I found some characters to exist without any need but still they coalesced in story in a way that they don’t feel useless. Storytelling is Good, but not very good. You can read it in very short span of time that too with least effort and after reading you will really find the Actual meaning of its Title. Prologue provokes to read it further but initial chapters failed to grip my mind but later as story picked up the pace, I forgot my Coffee and was just lost in the story.

I am heartless - a real confession, is a romance fiction narrating the ups and downs of campus life of Post Graduates
(not graduates, otherwise it would have had atleast some comedy in it ;)). Given that this is the writer's first book
he has done a reasonable job.
While the book is full of grammatical mistakes and bad sentence constructions, there is an overdose of them
for initial 10 chapters. This irritates the reader a lot and keeps him from being engrossed. The book starts becoming a
smooth sail 13th chapter onwards and the reader starts liking the book as the book proceeds towards ending. He, then,
falls in love with the last chapter. The last chapter of the book is what sets it apart from the rest of the book. It is
interesting to levels that it can entertain the believer of platonic love. According to me the book's 95% sales can count
only on this chapter !
The book can easily be condensed to half with an effort of a few ours and would make a better read. This new half version will contain the prologue, one chapter replacing first 12 chapters, chapters 13-19 and the 20th chapter in its original form.
There are a lot of what-the-hell moments in the book. One such example is the english translation of the poem on the 17th
page ! Also there is an overdose of characters which confuses the reader. The writer could have done away with atleast
some characters since they are not used in the book anyway.
The prologue of the book connects very well with the last chapter and keeps the reader curious till the end.
The cover page of the book is a good job and the introduction at the back cover provokes the reader to read the book.
All in all, a good first effort has been made by Mr. Vinit K Bansal and I hope to see his forthcoming works getting better.

"I Am Heartless: A Real Confession"
First debut novel of Vinit K. Bansal. Vinit has done a good attempt in devoting his attention towards the story line and the way he has expressed the true emotions of the Lead of the story (Viren) is quite recommendable.

I personally was very much attracted towards the title and the cover page of the book. and after reading this novel I must say that the cover pic goes very well hand in hand along with the story line.

Now about the story,
Story moves around the character Viren who is very much desperate to find his true love(pari), and one fine day, he finally finds his Pari, when he falls in love with Rashi. But for Rashi he was Just a good friend. He expresses his strong and true love to Rashi, makes many sacrifices for her, but she continues to treat him like a normal friend. In all this he ignores his best friend Manasi who was having a strong and true love feelings for him. One day when Rashi told him about her relationship with Pratap, Viren endup losing himself into deep deperation and a hopeless loser. All this while Manasi took charge, take care of him and brought him back from that deperation period. All this while Viren and Manasi became very close to each other. Manasi showed the hights of her love and affection to Viren but viren on the other hand took it very casually and get physically involved with other girl too. When Manasi got to know about this she end her relation with viren. After so many years, Viren realizes that Manasi was the real “Pari” , who he always ignored, and also used as per his needs. He realizes his mistakes and sins, and expresses his real confessions, before attempting suicide.

Story line was quite predictable without any crisp and turns which can make readers stict to it with interest. Starting was very slow but the second part of the novel will attract you. Very easy language which can be read by anyone.

As a Avid reader I didn't liked the story but if I see it by another eye, as a Real Confession by someone its remarable.

A really nice attempt by Vinit. I would wish him success for his future.

“I’M HEARTLESS” is an HONEST CONFESSION

Genre: Romance Fiction

“I’M HEARTLESS” is the first novel by Mr. Vinit K. Bansal. It is the story of Viren, a day dreamer, who dreams that one day he will definitely find his true love (or Pari, as he fondly calls her). One fine day, he finally finds his Pari, when he falls in love with Rashi, who ‘quite unsurprisingly’ treats him as ‘just a good friend’. He expresses his strong and true love to Rashi, makes many sacrifices for her, but she continues to treat him like a normal friend. Amidst all this, Viren ignores the true love of Manasi, who is Rashi’s best friend. He ridicules Manasi, ignores her often, but she remains honest and true to him. Viren, instead, waits endlessly for Rashi, and one fine day, Rashi informs him that she in a relationship with Pratap. Viren is heartbroken, and starts behaving like a hopeless loser. At this stage, Manasi takes care of him, and ‘quite unsurprisingly’ they become very close. But, Viren is not the same guy any more. He has lost all his faith over love and relationships. He treats his relationship with Manasi, very casually. There comes a stage, when he becomes total ignorant, mad, psycho, and even gets involved with another girl – Neetika. His life takes a serious turn when Manasi gets to know the truth about him, and his wrong doings. She leaves him, forever! Years fly by, and Viren realizes that Manasi was the real “Pari” , who he always ignored, and also used as per his needs. He realizes his mistakes and sins, and expresses his “real confessions”, before attempting suicide.

As a first time writer, Vinit K. Bansal has done a good job, and I really liked the way he has penned the character of Viren. It looks very real, and many people can easily relate to him. The second half of the book flows superbly, especially from the scene when Manasi starts taking care of Viren. The book contains many words that may prompt readers to consult a dictionary. But, Vinit has used them aptly. There are certain instances, in other books, where authors have used complex words without knowing the exact meaning and usage. The climax of the book is very good, very engrossing, makes you feel sad as well, and is very well written. Clap Clap Clap!

Enough of Appreciations!!!

The first half of the book, literally, drags. It is slow, very slow in fact, and most of the scenes are not properly connected to each other. That is the stage, when the reader tends to lose patience. But, as I said earlier, the story kicks off superbly well post “interval”.

The plot, on the whole, is very predictable; in fact, the prologue will tell you the gist of the story. There are many editorial mistakes, for which I will not blame the author. I want to appeal to all the publishers out here, please take care of editorial mistakes. They make a good book, look bad! And lastly, the usage of certain words will force a layman to refer a dictionary every now and then. Usage of complex English words is acceptable, maybe in descriptions etc. But, I personally believe, we don’t use complex English words in normal communication. So such words should be avoided, while writing the dialogues.

On the whole, Vinit K. Bansal’s “I’M HEARTLESS” is a good book. As this is Vinit’s debut book, he has done a good job. He has potential, and is here to stay. I am going with 3 out of 5 stars for Vinit K. Bansal’s “I’M HEARTLESS”.

Verdict: Read it. Be Patient with the first half. You will definitely love the second half, because it’s an HONEST CONFESSION.

I woke up at 9 a.m. today with only one thing in my mind that I have to read ‘I am Heartless’ by today itself. After finishing my daily routine things, I started reading the book at near about 11 a.m. and finished it by 6 p.m. Let me admit here that I am a very lazy reader. It’s the second book which I have read in one go after ‘Te Amo... I Love You’. I skipped my lunch and even my coffee too! Yes I can’t believe how could I sacrifice my coffee, but yes I did! I was so curious to know what happened next... Now I am simply in love with Mansi’s character, and her selfless love. I got to understand, what the real definition of love is. It was so heart touching, I was feeling the pain, and tears were rolling down from my eyes. Now I am eagerly waiting for Vinit’s next Novel.

P.S. This is not a review these are my feelings which I wanted to share with the author!!

I start to read at beginning it was good read and kept me adhere to it and it was very much excited to read to know what next, viren character was depicted nicely and situation was exhibited nicely, but some where in middle it was getting mess up by bringing other character unwanted but seriously speaking when i reached at the end tears rolled down from eyes after reading his confession. Don't know why we human being realize our treasure when we loose it or we are at the verge to loose it. I feel pity for viren who never realize true devotion of Manshi and i feel sad and sorry for Manshi.

Boss true are rarely found so treasure it before it lost.

A beautiful but painful story describing the real meaning of love!! Very lucidly written book which will engross you till the very end. One more positive thing is its language, so simple to understand and to relate with. Thanks to Vinit for presenting such a nice story.. you have done a commendable job. I could feel all the emotions, pain and love of protagonist while reading.

Want to know more what happened with Viren and Manasi after that. Eagerly waiting for I am heartless part 2

By Vinit K Bansal. Grade B
As already made obvious by the title, I Am Heartless is about a heartless fellow called Viren. The book is a romance novel written in the first person. It is about love, betrayal, friendship, intimacy and recklessness that Viren faces in his relationships.
“This is not only a story rather it is a real confession of a lover.
The story revolves around Viren – a day dreamer, an egoistic, a hopeless romantic and attention seeker afflicted with a bizarre madness and arrogance engulfing him. It is the story of his life which encompasses love, dedication, eccentricity, friendship and overall his discovery of true love and also the anguish of losing it due to his obstinacy. It is a repertoire of moments coated with velvetiness of love bruised by the thorns of betrayal. It highlights the situations which ultimately turn him into a devil, who wants to annihilate the whole world with his impiety, consequences being the least he cares about; and eventually loses his happiness, identity and even himself in this process.

The book has been written as a confession on the part of the guy Viren, by the author Vinit K Bansal. Viren is in search of his “Pari” who has always been in his fantasies and dreams since he was a child. He doesn’t find her until he meets a girl, Rashi, at the Kurukshetra University.Rashi happens to be the best friend of Mansi who also loves Viren but did not find any acceptance for it from our protagonist.
Viren falls head over heels for Rashi and thinks that she is the Pari he has been looking for ever since. On the other hand, Rashi tells him that she doesn’t feel the same way about him and buys some time. This one sided relationship continues for a year and a half, without Mansi knowing that it’s her own best friend who is Viren’s Pari. Rashi eventually tells Viren that she is in love with a different guy called Pratap and Viren is left heart broken. He stops believing in love and decides to play around with girls just for fun. Mansi, who helps Viren get out from the trauma of the breakup, becomes his first and major victim.
The book has an uninteresting start and middle but catches up well in the end where it has several twists in the plot. It proves to be really heart wrenching in the end which apparently was the goal of the author. The good thing that I found about the book was that unlike the other books by Indian authors, it did not have any unnecessary explicit content just to sell more copies. One can find many similes in the book which made the sentences look beautiful. By constructing these enchanting sentences in between, you could feel that the author is into poetry a great deal.
However, there were some things I didn’t like. In the first part of the book there were hardly any dialogues. I mean, you’re writing a novel not a two paged story that you can’t put any dialogues. This part of the book seemed as if it were a daily diary entry. I’ll give you an example from the page number twenty three in the book:
“Next day I woke up early and got ready by sharp 8 a.m. I spotted Vikesh and Shyam in the corridor, engrossed in a discussion regarding breakfast options. We had some sandwiches and coffee in the university market and reached the department precisely at 9 a.m.”
There’s a use a lot of brackets and words in capitals in the book. Wherever the author has given the slightest description of anything, he’s used brackets and minimized any description he could give, as if trying to make the descriptions invisible. And where do you find CAPITAL WORDS like these in literature? It clearly depicts that he is a debutant and has great scope at improving.
Also about the descriptions, some definitely did need to get invisible. He’s used Hindi words and then has written them in the bracket in English. I laughed when he’d said “…we were gazing at hot chicks (girls)…” and “…her Bindi (dot)…”. Come on, we cannot confuse Chicks and Bindi for Chicken and lady finger!
The book also had flawed grammar and punctuation at several places which is really the editor’s fault.
As I said, the Author gets in to the form in the chapters towards the end and it makes up for the start and the middle. An increase in dialogues also helps.
At last, I would say that there was one thing that I found in uniformity in the book and that was the overdose of narrative summary which rarely attracts a serious reader. I would recommend this book to casual readers and I wish Mr. Bansal luck and hope that I find finer and better pieces by him to read in future.

i've never regretted reading a book as much as i regretted reading this! I'm heartless is a heartlessly pathetic book one could ever come across.
THE EPIC FAILURES OF THE BOOK:
i don't remember the last time when i heard anyone call their friend, "friend!"
and the story gets more unrealistic with the entry of Pari without wings! "(Come on bro!!! For heaven's sake grow up!)
the girl who shouts HIIIIIIII in front of the entire class and hugs randomly with no sense of public around is smart and intelligent (really?)
you end up weeping like aa kid when u could not attend the call of the girl who had been trying to call u since few hours.
the protagonist burns his hostel room when frustrated (reason of frustration-Girlfriend didn't pick up the call) (That room is bloody not yr daddy's house you fool!)
the book teaches how to torture the girl who loves us the most in a most insane manner.
The guy has a problem with the bloody haircut of his girlfriend which is hardly visible and the girl still sticks to the moron and for her true love! (yeah! now i quit!)
in short if u want to read some suffocating drama which you won't get to see even in hindi soaps or bollywood movies. go on.
and perhaps if you dislike someone too much and torture them, gift them this book.
i want my money back!
On what basis did this book become a National Bestseller? i seriously want to know!

First of all I'm very "small" (not in size but in caliber and field) to review this masterpiece By You sir..
I have seen many authors prasing themselves or showing the positive sides of their nature in their books but what u did in this one is truly commendable... I mean Who has that much guts to confess such a "harsh reality" of his own blunders in public that too so well, only few can do this n ur one of them, Hats off dude...
The story will teach u a "lesson" for life that is "Value n appreciate the things/people u have rather than running for those which u want or dream off" (One shud value the relationships before losing them completely)
Life is like a boomerang, what goes around comes around... Story is a "Roller coaster" ride where Viren being an egoistic chap who keeps on running for his "So Called dream girl" ends up losing the one who loved him like anything...
Manasi 's selfless unconditional love for Viren (despite knowing everything abt Viren n his intentions) will make u weep like anything..
This story is a sarcastic slap for all those who are in relationships just for timepass or for fun(Love n respect ur partners before u loose them)
P.S =May b today u mite win in fooling someone BUT sooner or later u have to bear the consequences.. BCOZ WAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND..

I was in the latter half of the story and had made up my mind that I won't give it more than 3 stars. The story felt a little incomplete at times. It was going like a regular love saga.

But suddenly there was a twist in the story. The undying love of Manasi. It was a problem for me. It took me back into time where I was Manasi and my love was Viren. A cold heartless soul. This trance broke only after sometime and I carried on with my reading of the novel.

It brought me back to my senses. I was never extreme and I moved on too but the thoughts of that undying love for somebody still lingers on in my mind.

The story is simple yet very compelling towards the end. It's a epitome of what blind love does to you and worse than that when the whole world comes crashing down at you and leaves no path for redemption.

Very beautifully penned down and absolute justice done. :)

I'm impressed with the latter half of the story and got worked up with the first half as it felt incomplete at times.

But it's a very good written book with simple English and well constructed characters.

Anyone who is currently caught up in the tangles of love, or is acquainted with someone who is, will be well acquainted with the shibboleths of contemporary love stories: true love. It takes a lot of courage for a debut author to encroach upon the darker and gloomier aspects of love story without resulting in breaking faith in the oft repeated idea of true love.

As a writer Vinit Bansal is exceptional. The way he pour out the emotions, is out of this world. I Am Heartless is another example of it. After reading SOULMATES, my expectations were very high from him. But I AM Heartless didn't disappoint me. Viren is still hovering in my mind. How can be someone so mean or should I say idiotic. Whatever, I had never thought it would come out this way.
millions of thumbs up for this master piece.

I Am Heartless: A Real Confession by Vinit K. Bansal is an romantic fiction novel which is blended with love, emotions, griefs and sorrows in the life of protagonist Viren.

The story starts from the Viren's life in his 1st year at college in kurukshetra to how his decisions made impact in his life and the circumstances which were consequences of his decisions made him to commit suicide.

The story may be sounds like an usual one but the author have really written in a way that how every body could learn and realize the facts that how the life could take a toll towards us and how we take our loved ones for granted.

Author have also conscious in using a simple vocabularies with a lucid narration throughout the novel. Also the tagline of 'A Real Confession' have been justified by the author through the story.

Overall, A must read novel to have a emotional journey with some reality check throughout this short tale on Viren's life.
