When Lisa has a bad experience on a cocaine laden night out, she decides to quit for good, which causes a rift between her and her group of friends. When she befriends David Salle, she discovers that he has been studying the drug culture in detail, and as she helps him they discover a whole new meaning behind the cocaine-filled society in which they live.
I quite enjoyed this book up until a point. I liked Lisa as a protagonist, she was very believable and I cared about her and her story. I felt that the insight into the drug culture of Dublin was honest and thought-provoking.
However, the twist towards the end, while unexpected, took the plot into a far fetched state that was just not for me. I also didn't like the fact that the plot was brought forward throughout the book mainly using dialogue, there weren't many unbroken passages of writing and I don't particularly like that style.
Overall I enjoyed most of this novel, I definitely think Bentley is a promising author and I will be looking forward to reading his first book after this.

Read this book in a day. Absolute page turner. Although no one likes when a good book ends, the ending was on the right note. There was no "But what happens too *insert name here*" It was brilliant from start to finish

So engrossed the whole way through. Have also read another of his books Greenridge thats not on Goodrreads so can't rate. If you can get your hands on either you wont be dissapointed. It had two different sides to the book a disturbing dark side with bits of comedy throughout.

I have mixed feelings on this book.... While I was gripped throughout, I was disappointed with the storyline towards the end. What started out so realistic just took a wrong twist, in my opinion.

My sister in law bought this book directly from the author and offered it to me to read. I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it. Given the authors own previous battle with drugs it makes the story all the more believable. I found it hard to put down and a real page turner, always wanting to know what happens to Lisa next. It has made me think about the dark social scene currently going on in this country and fear for my young nieces and nephews who may have to deal with this evil as they grow up.
