Veer is the second book in Clyton Falls series and I liked it more than I liked the first one, Derailed, but mostly because I really liked Gavin in the first book and was really excited to read his story.

I kinda felt sorry for him in Derailed when Molly picked Ben over him, and when I learned what he had to go through in his past, I felt even more sorry. I just wanted to give him one big bear hug!

The story starts when Molly's friend fro

This was another enjoyable read in the series. There were times when I wanted to slap Becca though. However, I understood things were hard for her. I liked Gavin and I thought it was nice what his brother did at the end.

This started a little rough for me but I eventually warmed up to the characters as we got to know them a little more. The dialogue is sometimes stiff and it results in the drama being escalated rather quickly and in a more melodramatic fashion. But that mellowed out as the story progressed. I thought the ending was a little rushed though.

I get it!

I finally get why Gavin was included in Derailed and while I didn’t care for him in that story I absolutely love him in Veer. Alyssa Rose Ivy is the best. I’m not sure why I expected any different because I absolutely love her style of writing. I can literally finish her books in a couple of hours because I can’t put them down!

Becca, Molly’s friend from college from Derailed comes to Clayton Falls to get away from a life that’s sort of crumbling down around her and she needs a break

Possibly reading this in another time and place, I might have given it a three, but just needing something to get me through some travel time, this was a good choice for me. Was it anything mind-blowingly original? No. Was it amazingly written? No. But for what it was, it was good and it kept me entertained.

Originally from Boston and in law school to become a DA, Becca decides to spend her summer with her best friend Molly in NC working at a small town law firm. She immediately runs into local

If you liked the first book, Derailed, you will like this too. It's another predictable, but feelgood romance, that leaves you pretty satisfied with the ending.

I loved Becca and I already loved Gavin, but their relationship just felt somehow forced at times. I actually thought she had a lot more chemistry with Jake than Gavin. But I knew this wasn't their story so I gave up on that. I did end up liking them, they were obviously a great fit. Sex is not ignored, but like with the first book - it's

I wanted to read a new book that I had not heard about and found Veer. Good story and not rushed but I think it could have been longer. I hope we get to see Becca and Gavin's story progress. I would have enjoyed steamier scenes. OHHH and how I cringed at his mom and sister...WTH? Totally overwhelming.

This new adult contemporary romance is the second book in The Clayton Falls Series. I really loved Derailed, the first book in the series and couldn't wait to read Veer. We were introduced to the main characters in this story, Becca and Gavin in Derailed. Becca is Molly's best friend from Law School in Boston. Gavin is the hot cop that had a thing for Molly in Derailed, but Molly's heart totally belonged to Ben. Though Gavin displayed some really thoughtful moments in Derailed, I really thought ...more

Veer is the story of Becca, Molly's best friend in Boston. She runs away to Clayton Falls after a year of heartache from the death of her mother, disappointment from the D.A office in Boston, and loneliness. Gavin is the man who's dreams were crushed after a career ending injury left him unable to play the sport he loved most, baseball. Now, living in Clayton Falls for the past three years, he's a local cop looking to settle down, but bumping into Becca was the last thing on his mind. When the t ...more

It took me some time to work myself up to read VEER. I wasn't absolutely crazy about DERAILED (book 1 of the series) but I was dying to know what happens with Gavin and Becca. Every time I would pass by it on my nook I knew I just needed to dive in and read the darn thing. But I was scared. There I said it. I was scared the book and me wouldn't connect. But we did and I was so happy I finally decided to read it.

I will be the first to say that I did not like Gavin one bit in DERAILED. I thought

I'm not exactly sure why I picked this up especially considering my less than lukewarm reaction to its predecessor, DERAILED. Like that one, this is a standard romance. First take a girl in dire need of a break and heading on out to do something about it. Second have said girl then meets boy in a less than ideal situation. Try to shake things up a bit with a not quite love at first sight. Then have them both deny deny deny what they truly feel. Here though there's a dash of meanness on both thei ...more

If you enjoyed Derailed, the first novel in Alyssa Rose Ivy’s Clayton Falls Series, then you will fall in love with Veer! Told from the alternating POV’s of Gavin (the sexy cop we met in Derailed) and Becca (Molly’s best friend from law school), Veer is the perfect blend of romance and heartbreak. I found myself thoroughly engrossed in Becca’s side of the story. She was a very authentic character to me.

This is one of those stories where the author does a fantastic job of peeling back the layers

This book was totally cute fun and romantic! Gavin and becca what a perfect match! The ending was super cute, and i loved the way that we got a different side of jake in this book. I might of just found a new favorite character from this series.

Alyssa I really love love love your stories. Please keep writing, and hurry up with your other two books! I can't hardly wait any longer!

Veer, the second book in the Clayton Falls series, tells the story of Gavin (the cop who fell in love with Molly in the first book) and Becca (Molly's friend from law school) this time around. While it really isn't necessary to read Derailed, the previous book in the series, I would recommend that you read just so you have some background on the town and all the characters. Set a year after the happenings of Derailed, Veer not only allows us to ge

It was so nice to go back to Clayton Falls and “see” all of Alyssa’s characters again. Veer tells the story of Gavin, who was trying to date Molly in Derailed, and Becca, Molly’s friend from law school who has a pretty dark and troubled past. While not as romantic and “fairy tale-like” as Derailed where the girl rediscovers the love she left behind, Gavin & Becca’s story was more realistic to me and I loved that about Veer. You can’t deny the attraction these to have for each other, yet they ...more

Read and reviewed as part of the Veer tour hosted by Xpresso Book Tours.

Veer is a cute romance story about Becca, a law student from Boston and Gavin, a police officer living in Clayton Falls.

Becca is fiercely independent after growing up with just her mum after her dad abandoned them. Recently she’s nursed her sick mum, right up to her death from cancer. Now she’s all alone and feeling a little lost.

Gavin is an ex-baseball player turned police officer. His career ended after an injury.

I really like Alyssa’s books, she has a natural talent for writing great love stories that are also realistic and creating characters that you can relate to and fall in love with. I really liked Molly and Ben’s story in Derailed and was happy to hear the next book would be about Gavin. Although he may have annoyed some people in Derailed, I admired his persistence and liked his charm and was really looking forward to reading more about him. We

I love romance. I love it. It makes me so happy and I absolutely love reading it. However, when I say that I love romance, I also should mention that I don't expect great things from it. So when I had the chance to read Veer by Alyssa Rose Ivy I was pretty excited. Initially I thought Veer was just your typical adult romance novel. However, I later discovered that it fell into the new adult category. I was a bit shy of this at first because I have had fairly bad experiences with the new adult Ph ...more

Veer is the second book in the Clayton Falls Series and it is the only book that I have read in the series, which I found easy to read as a standalone. It was an emotional contemporary romance where both characters need to deal with their insecurities so that they can move on and improve their lives.

Like DERAILED, VEER is another sweet, short love story. To be completely honest, compared to the many YA/NA romances out there, it’s not very impressionable, but overall, it’s still a relatively enjoyable and easy read!

One of the best parts of the book, like its predecessor, is its “readability”: the language flows ea

Veer starts off a few months after Derailed left off with Molly and Ben, and in Veer we are seeing Becca's story come to life, she is Molly's best friend from law school that you will remember from the first book. The book starts off with Becca driving to Clayton Falls for the summer to spend time with Molly, and on the way there, her car stalls and will not start, and she is on the side of a long road by herself, and her cell phone has no signal. Someone happens to be driving by, and it turns o ...more

I really enjoyed Derailed, the first book in this series, but I honestly couldn't stand Gavin. When I heard this was his book, I was intrigued, but also a bit nervous going into it. I really wanted to know more about Becca though, and I was hoping that Gavin could redeem himself in my eyes. It took a while, but he totally did. And I loved Becca. The second book in the Clayton Falls series follows Becca and Gavin who are friends of Molly, the main character in the first book. It is a companion novel so there won't be spoilers but reading Derailed first will increase the reading experience. :-D Becca is headed to Clayton Falls to visit Molly and work at a local law firm. On her way into town her car breaks down and police man Gavin stops to help her. Gavin isn't so hot for city girls and
