Alaysha has the power to drain living things of their water--she just can't put it back.
Sarum is under siege and a recovering Alaysha finds herself at the heart of a covert war where even the enemy is unknown. Whether it's the father she has spent nineteen years killing for, the witch of flame who promises to teach her control, or the charismatic Yenic who claims to love her, she must ultimately decide who to trust. If only that trust didn't come at such a high price.
Blood Witch is book two in the Elemental Magic series, a new adult fantasy series for women of all ages, but recommended for those over seventeen. There's a good bit of intrigue, a smidgen of magic, and of course, some steamy romance.
Thea is a NEW YORK TIMES and USA TODAY Bestselling Author. She used to have a black lab at her feet when she wrote, warming up the calves. It can be cold in rural Nova Scotia. Now it's just a cuppa tea keeping her warm.
Her urban fantasy pulses with dark themes and action-packed intrigue. Her characters are always deeply wounded creatures struggling for redemption.

Blood Witch Worthy Successor to Atkinson’s Water Witch
Those who read Thea Atkinson’s precursor novel, Water Witch, will not be disappointed by this, the next installment in the “Witch” series. However, if anyone has been under the impression that he or she knows each character and what or who those characters embody, such a person would be sadly mistaken. There are plenty of surprises in this novel.
The main character, Alaysha, is constantly changing and developing, which mimics the existence of true-life beings. Yenic, Alaysha’s would-be love interest, is still a mystery to readers, but he is not the only character who, like Alaysha, is as much as secrecy-imbibed as the wind. Each character is a complex and relatable being with tantalizing backgrounds of his, or her, own.
The plot is well-honed and keeps the reader’s interest throughout the novel; so much so in fact, that by the conclusion of the work, one thirsts for more of the tale. Viewed as a fly on the proverbial wall, each subtle nuance of Alaysha’s life and experiences come to the reader as matters of fact untouched by a fictional hand. Atkinson’s continuing path through Alaysha’s world is one on which readers will gladly accompany her. The mysteries are an added bonus that will keep each coming back for more.
Alaysha is recovering from a stab wound to her side. The shaman Theron stitched her up then Saxa took over watching over her. Yuri has brought Aislin, the fire witch, to Sarum supposedly to teach Alaysha how to control her water magic when in fact, Aislin has a young girl who looks similar to Alaysha. This story has romance, lots of action with plenty of it being sword fights, and ends in a cliffhanger. Highly recommended.

I love the darker feel of this installment. It really ramps up the tension and brings a new dimension to the world-building. This book has a deep sense of mystery and foreboding that deeply enriches the series so far.
The MC is a fantastic tortured yet strong and resilient heroine. I am really excited about the new edge to the series progression and I look forward to the next installment.

Our heroine is still trying to learn how to control her power when another witch comes along and offers to train her. But can she trust her?
This is book two of the series. It works pretty well as a standalone, but there is a lot going on and you will be missing some of the back story. Keep that in mind.
This book is a sword and sorcery fantasy story. The story is well written but not necessarily easy to read. There is a lot going on and it can be difficult to keep track of what is what at times. Our heroine develops a bit in this story, which is good, but she still has a long way to go in my opinion. The plot is intriguing and there is clearly lots more to come. Overall, a step up from the first book and I am encouraged to see what comes next.
Recommended.

This is book 2 in The Witches of Etlantium Series, Alaysha a water Witch (so she thinks) has been doing her father's dirty work for years, she knows no other way. Sarum is under covert attack and Alaysha must make choices she's not sure of, and if they are the wrong ones it will mean her death. Thea Atkinson has written a book series that showcases strong women, shows that by thinking things through and sometimes fighting things through can make a woman stronger and more self reliant. This is definitely a paranormal book, don't get me wrong, there is sorcery by the truck load, it's just tempered with the vision of women, be they magic or human, they can think and do for themselves, and that it's alright to fall in love without subjecting yourself to a man's desires. 4 ☆'s for a well written and entertaining read. I would suggest that young adults be at least 15 before reading due to content. I recieved a gifted copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
This is a great listen. It continues where book 1 ends. It will grab you and you won’t be able to put it down till the end . Alaysha leans about more about herself , as she leans about herself she starts wondering where does she belong really . She has two men that she feels strongly about , but she’s wondering which one is true to her . Alysha doesn’t want to be used and controlled like she was with her father .
As Alysha starts to be more herself and grow stronger she knows she needs to battle the Fire Witch . Who is the fire witch , what is the fire witch up to . Once The two witches will meet who will come out on top . Alysha is wondering will be she able to control her evil ways . Grab it and see . Do other elements witches come out of hiding
Meghan was good in this one like book 1 . Her voice is strong , smooth and clear. She did all the characters perfectly
Wow, I loved this book. If you like audiobooks, the narrator brings the tale to life in a wonderful way. I can’t put it into words the feeling I got while listening. At times, it was almost a mournful feel. The setting is like a medieval time. I picture the world in black and white lol. A lot happens in this one. And I was surprised at the ending. I had to stop and rewind. I can’t decide who I like more, Gael or Yenic. I’m so torn. I can’t wait for the next book. Gosh I wish it was in audiobook already lol.
I finally got to read all of this from a friend! Yay! Loved it and am hoping that the author has more books to come in this series! It was suspenseful, unbelievably well written and a page turner! I love that the main character was so adventurous and a heroine even when she was not so in the beginning. I will pass this one on! Great work Thea!!!
The way Thea Atkinson writes is absolutely captivating. The reader is drawn in from the very first page. One paragraph leads to the next. One page leads to the next. You find yourself caught up in the middle of the night. How and why can you find the place to set it down? The words just draw you in. You just want to keep reading and reading and can not stop. Her work is both illustrative and expressive. The world building goes beyond that of many other authors. She takes the time to build a web made out words, a network of fine threads intertwined. You are completely enticed in such a way that you cannot set the book down. I was disappointed and oh so sad when I reached the last page. I wanted more!! But clearly the ending was meant to be. The writing is amazing as is the rest of the book. This novel is filled with twists and turns. You think that you have discovered the story line and than you find that a new twist is leading down yet another path. The story is captivating from the beginning and you just want to keep reading and reading and not stop. It is both descriptive and has wonderful world building. When I reached the end - I wanted more!! But the ending itself is amazing as is the rest of the novel. I received the novel from BookFunnel This is my true and honest review.
The story continues from the previous installment. The witches have even more twists that they must contend with. This series is an intriguing mystery and one definitely keeps me guessing. There are some areas that are a bit confusing, but things unraveled I began to understand the world as it unfolds.

This magical and deadly journey will have you on the edge of your seat and get your heart racing for what may happen next.
This author has never disappointed me. I have read the first book in the series and the story is becoming more complex and involving. I look forward to getting started on the next book.
The phenomenal continuation of this enthralling series! I love how Alaysha is finding allies in the most unexpected of places and how she is learning who she is! I can’t wait for the next book!
