"It's nice to have someone with your…um, skill set…around when there's a killer on the loose."

Taking out bad guys is in Jake Connelly's DNA as much as strength, fearlessness and Greek-god good looks. So is rescuing women like Chelsea Harris, who's kidnapped by a brutal escaped convict. What isn't in the cowboy hunk's DNA, Chelsea fears, is an interest in relationships—espe

Very good book with intense action right from the start. Chelsea was carjacked by an escaped convict. Jake attempts a rescue but ends up captured with Chelsea before they are able to get away. As they hole up in an empty house to wait out the storm there is an attraction that burns between them. Jake also still wants to protect Chelsea and catch the convict.

I really liked both Chelsea and Jake. Chelsea is house sitting for her parents when she gets grabbed by the convict. When he stuffs her in t

WOW this book was so good I read it again after I finished it. This is going onto my favorite’s list. The story starts out with Chelsea getting gas. An escaped convict points a gun at her, and tells her to drive. The car runs out of gas. Jack was on his way to see his dad in the hospital when he saw a car on the side of the road. He fought with Bradley the escaped convict. Jack ends of locked in the trunk of the car alongside Chelsea. Once they get out of the trunk they have to face a blizzard, ...more

I'm surprised I have so much to say about a book I didn't like, but here we go:

1. Brady' POVs didn't add anything to the plot or story.
I didn't understand him as a character at all. He kills two cops (and Mr. Noble) no problem, but keeps giving Chelsea and Jake chances to live and fight him yet another day.
I mean, they have like four altercations throughout the book... it got ridiculous. Just end them!
...Brady's threat felt so weak I couldn't believe he was still being written about two hundred

A carjacking at a gas station by an escaped felon is foiled by an empty gas tank, freaky snow storm and a black ops man on leave to visit his father’s death bed. But it doesn’t come to an end easily. Chelsea Harris, the original victim finds herself in the trunk of her car listening to Jake Connelly fight it out with the felon, Brady, who had killed two officers during his initial escape. Eventually half-naked Chelsea ends up in the trunk with a concussed and now weaponless Jake who breaks them ...more

Sometimes nothing but a good romance will do and this book certainly fit the bill. The main characters were both strong and interesting. Jake is Black Ops, in the States to visit his desperately ill father. He's sidetracked by a carjacking that involves an escaped convict, an innocent bystander and a blizzard. The heroine, whose name escapes me as I write this in an airport, was no shrinking violet and while she couldn't escape without help, she wasn't lying back waiting for rescue and neither w ...more

First, and most importantly – let’s hear it for Ms Cornelison and her size fourteen, kickass heroine. How refreshing to have a woman with curves, love handles and cellulite. And how normal for her to struggle with her weight, especially since her douchbag ex dumped her for putting on weight while dealing with her mother’s cancer. I also cheered at our hero, who wasn’t the least bit fazed by Chelsea’s weight and instead enjoyed her curves.

Chelsea is kidnapped by an escaped inmate while stopping f

Solid believable characters. Neither the woman or the man frustrated or annoyed me, which is a big plus for me, because I find it hard to like the women in romance books. I actually really liked this woman. Yes, she's a little insecure, but not overly so. It's a believable amount. I also like that she's not a bad ass chick, nor a damsel in distress. She seems human, and fights like hell when needed. My only complaint was that she says, "Oh Texas!" soooo many times. It's corny as hell to begin wi ...more

Cowboy's Texas Rescue by Beth Cornelison is the third contemporary romance in the Black Ops Rescues series. It is scheduled for release on February 19 2013. I did not read the two previous books, and did not feel like I lost anything from this book because of that lack. Jake Connelly lives to protect the innocent and take out the bad guys. He devotes his life to it. But, as he is hurrying home to visit with his critically ill father he is waylaid by a lady in distress and a murderous escaped con ...more

Chelsea Harris has bad, bad luck…she just needs to get to her parents house before the snowstorm that is chasing her, hits the area. But instead of watching the storm from the warmth and safety of her parents house, she ends up being the victim of a car jacking by an insane escaped convict and gets thrown in the trunk half naked. Then to add to it a stranger who pulls over to be a Good Samaritan to what he thought was a stalled ve

Cowboy's Texas Rescue by Beth Cornelison
Cowboy's Texas Rescue is full of drama and action. everytime I think the danger is over I get surprised.
Chelsea Harris just stopped to get gas before she headed to her parents house. She was house sitting while they were out of town. When a man came up and put a gun to her and told her to get back into the car and drive.
Edward Brady escaped prison killing two guards before he hi-jacked Chelsea. He looked at her GPS and asked her questions about who

Good story. I loved the two characters especially Jake who was really sweet and definitely not shallow.

There was only one thing that I disliked. Chelsea lessens her own importance as a simple human being because of what her ex-boyfriend has told her about her weight as she was looking out for her mom in the hospital. He leaves her because of it. She blames herself for the weight gain and not spending time with him. That is not a fair and just thinking since we know that a good person, especially

This is what you call a page turner. From the carjacking at the beginning to a shoot out in a courtroom at end the villain is like the energizer bunny and keeps on coming back.

This is the third book in the Black Ops series and it’s as intense as its predecessors.

This is a 3.5 book. I loved Chelsea a lot, but jake was kinda a jerk so eh I think the end ruined the story a bit.

She received her bachelor's degree in Public Relations from the University of Georgia and after working in public relations for a little more than a year, she moved with her husband from Tennessee to Louisiana, where she decided to pursue her love of writing fiction.
