Meh. I kind of enjoyed Last Blood, but that might have been down to me getting to finish off a series rather than the actual book itself. Everything was just so predictable and cheesy — nothing exciting or surprising happened.
-Chrysabelle was a boring cow. I used to like her but she turned into a full blown, run of the mill, dull Mary Sue. She didn't say or do anything remotely interesting.
-I quite liked Mal when he was being all evul and thinking nasty thoughts. Sadly, when ...more

Kristen Painter's Last Blood, the conclusion to the "House of Comarré" series left me feeling a little uncertain... Not because it was a bad book or because anything was left wide-open but because everything just felt too... easy. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed this book and Chrysabelle and Mal still had to face a lot of obstacles, but I never felt worried that they wouldn't succeed. I am happy with the way Ms. Painter wrapped u ...more

The first half of the book is paced so slowly it felt like a chore. The first 200 pages could have been chopped down to 50. Evil Mal was literally out of it the entire time. We never got to see his beast released, or what his curse made him capable of. The obstacle Chrysabelle had to face to turn him back was so easily overcome it was ridiculous. I really wanted to see them ...more
Let me start by saying this was my series find of last year. I haven't been along for the ride since the beginning but after seeing the beautiful covers I just had to start reading them and I devoured the first 3 straight through and then had to pace around for months waiting for the 4th one to be released.

The feel of the series as it progressed as gone from riveting, with the first books, to something that resembles a family drama with the last books of the series. I don’t honestly know how I feel now that I have finished Last Blood by Kristen Painter, depressed is a good word. That’s it, I am depressed as I adore this series, and I hate to see it come to an end. “Pouting like Lilith.” For those of you who haven’t read the serie ...more
Quick & Dirty: This is the last book in the House of Comarre series. Chrysabelle will face her enemies for the last time. The question is whether she will come out the winner against them or lose all that she holds dear.
Opening Sentence: Twenty-four hours.
For those of you who have read this series and enjoyed it, I am sad to say this is the last book in the series. Now after saying that, I have to say that I believe Kristen Painter has out done ...more
I wonder if there will be some type of spin off to this series. There is no telling what this great author could dream up for Mal and Chrysabelle's offspring. Here's hoping...
I have loved this series and have devoured each installment as it came out. I expected Last Blood to continue the excitement and was devastated when I got a bit of a ways into this. It was terrible.

I love Chrysabelle and Mal. This is no secret. With the ending of the fourth book, I was heartbroken, as most other fans were. I went into this book with so much hope but not just for these two; Kristen Painter has made me fall in love with all of her characters and I was so hoping ...more
If you somehow managed not to lose your sanity after reading the cliffhanger ending to Out for Blood, then you can definitely manage to read Last Blood without tearing out every single follicle of what remains of your hair.

It is bittersweet to see this series come to an end. It seems as if it was yesterday that I attended NY Comic Con and listened to a panel where Kristen Painter talked about her experience with her first book and how she came up with her world. I hadn't really heard of her but I fell in love with the cover and quite frankly I loved her personality. And that's why I read it.
The House of Comarre is so unique and truly has it all. Action, intrigue and romance. We've been on this ride with Chry
