Incomplete, says this microscopist. ;) Should have had twice the pages or more, and more on historical oculars and early scopes (Antonie van Leeuwenhoek! Likely spelled that wrong..), and a full atlas of different bacteria at various magnifications using various techniques, and then a whole chonky chapter on the limits of resolution... It's a shortish coffee-table sort of read. Waiting room length book. Wanted a lot more photos of germs.

Eye captivating photos of microscopic matter and organisms with internet links.

Great classroom library book for 2nd through 6th grade. Even though a 2nd grader would probably not be able to read this on their own, the pictures would certainly be worth looking at. The internet links add to what kids can learn from it. Good text to include in a class introducing microscopes.

This is a great introduction to the microscopic world. It can be read on its own, but it would be even better if you had a microscope to go with it.
