Second in a sexy, playful new series of women's fiction imagining what it might be like for a modern American woman to fall in love with a British aristocrat, from new author Megan Mulry.

Sarah James is an accomplished American woman who heads her own chic shoe company. Devon Heyworth is the rakish, ne'er-do-well younger brother of the 19th Duke of Northrop. When the two me

I was really intrigued by the concept of this book...old world dukes in a modern age. I was really disappointed in the execution. The book was basically about really rich British and American people. There was really no need for them to be dukes (and the hero of this book wasn't even a duke). It would have been so much more fun to have some of the constraints of the time imposed on the characters of this book. The plot itself was just kind of okay. The two main characters get together first thin ...more

I thought this book would be a nice romance, difficult but worth it. The synopsis completely detracted from the novel. I thought that she wouldn't love him until later in the book, but instead she pined after him the whole time. Also, keeping a guy upstairs and bringing one downstairs - so not classy. Also, all her fights with him (the 'tension') was stupid.

Completely disappointed - I didn't like the characters and the humor fell flat.

This book was a major disappointment after the fun read of Mulry's debut. Instead of the first book's sexy romance, this time around we get a lot of sex but not much romance. The hero and heroine jump into bed together and spend 300 pages unable to keep their hands off each other. The hero acts like an ass several times, and shows very little character growth or remorse. The heroine goes from insecure virgin to sex goddess in the blink of an eye. I was charmed by the studious, series hero of Roy ...more

Shortened names abound! The author even managed to work in Sar as a replacement for Sarah. There were several typos and a lot of extra jargon that added nothing to the story for me. Sarah is a 25 year old out to rid herself of her virginity after years of being a workaholic and seemingly a little asexual she just wants it over and done with. So she does and suddenly her body awakens to this whole new relam of feeling. The guy she loses it to doesn't know she was a virgin but still managed to tre ...more

I liked the premise of the book, and the funny one-liners the author out in the book, but it was really drawn out. I think there could've been more plot and romance instead of every second together just being sex, and I am all for the steamy romance, but it just got tedious. I wish they had created a bigger mystery with the stolen funds, or had a more in depth story line that followed that, instead of just using it as a separation tool. They were way too much on again off again for my liking ins ...more

Megan Mulry is definitely my new favorite contemporary romance author. If the Shoe Fits was just as good as the first book in the series, A Royal Pain.

This story features two characters from A Royal Pain: Sarah James, the sidekick shoe designer, and Devon Heyworth, the brother of the Duke of Northrop.

The plot really doesn't matter since it's pretty much the standard romance formula, but the characters are wonderfully written which is much more important to me.

It was a disjointing read. That made it a bit difficult to follow at times and caused me to loose interest. About a third of the way into the book, I was skimming the book so that I could find out what happened. When I was only 30% from finishing the book, I lost interest in doing that.

I would not recommend this book even as a read when you are trying to kill time.

Not as enjoyable as the first in this series, but still a fun, light read involving two of my secret obsessions: royalty and high fashion. Its like the "Go Fug Yourself' gals wrote a book for those of us closet blog readers.

I thoroughly enjoyed Megan Mulry’s If the Shoe Fits! It has the perfect blend of charming story, witty repartee, and absolutely adorable characters with personality and sass. Do I need to tell you more?

Devon Heyworth is rich, handsome, and smarter than you’d give him credit for – it’s all a part he plays up for the nosy busybodies, preferring to keep some part of himself private. It’s not like he’s ever had to do more than be rich and hand

Devon Heyworth is a man that you would love to date – handsome, tall, smart, charming, and also a royal. Man-whore is his middle name but it only takes one woman to erase such title. He doesn’t realize that the woman has arrived in front of his face.
Sarah James is known as a hit shoe designer. Raised by her own grandmother in France a few years after her mom died, she was a very independent woman that haven’t met the one yet. Little thing she knew that the one had come on her best friend’s weddi

I’ve been telling myself for a couple of months now that I want to try a new author or two in the stack of books sitting here, so Megan Mulry is the first of those. I think I made a really good choice.

Though this is the second book in the series – a series that doesn’t have a name yet that I can tell, so I gave it one! – and as much as I wish I’d read A Royal Pain first, you don’t need to. This story stands on its own, while you still get the sense of the previous characters and what they went t

If the Shoe Fits is the follow up to Megan Mulry’s A Royal Pain. This books centers on the relationship of Devon Heyworth and Sarah James. Devon is not the heir but the spare to the 19th Duke of Northrup and has spent his life cultivating an image of an empty headed dilettante barely working as an architect. In reality he is a brilliant mathematician and inventor. Sarah is the only daughter of a stuffy department store CEO who has become well known as the designer/owner of a trendy shoe company. ...more

The pairing of Sarah and Devon was hinted at in Ms. Mulry's first book, A Royal Pain, so I was interested to read how Sarah and Devon would conquer the Atlantic Ocean and achieve their happily ever after. Unfortunately, If the Shoe Fits missed the mark for me.

Sarah and Devon have great chemistry, so I wanted to see their relationship work. Watching it unfold on the page, however, was not a pleasurable experience. Sarah, while she is a successful businesswoman, appears to have come from

I'm usually not one to read contemporary romance, I'm more of a YA girl, but this romance really does heat up great. After just starting to read "If the Shoe Fits" I am very intrigued. I absolutely love the idea of an American Entrepreneur who goes to England and meets a British "Earl". Who doesn't love a good British guy?! At first the writing seemed a little bit "jerky" to me, meaning that the points of views changed so much it was a little hard to get used to. I'm very happy I've wo

In honor of the royal baby, His Highness Prince George, actually being named, I thought I'd read a royal themed book. This book fit it perfectly having not only Lords and Ladies, a Duke and two Duchesses, but also a new baby.

As much as I enjoyed A Royal Pain, If the Shoe Fits was a little different. Of course my memory is slightly foggy after reading hundreds of book since I've read A Royal Pain. I really did enjoy If the Shoe Fits. The chemistry between Sarah and Devon was really hot and I had

** Disclaimer ** I received an early copy from the publishing house that provided this book through a giveaway contest. My review is of my own opinion. Thank you!

"If The Shoe Fits" really is the modern fairytale. You don't expect to meet someone at your friend's wedding and fall in "like", but in this book, Sarah did. For me, the story was a little bland and didn't have a huge plot. It was simple. I was trying really hard to like the female lead. She's American, independent, and "made". She's go

3.5 stars. "If the Shoe Fits" is the second book in this series from Megan Mulry. The first book is called "A Royal Pain," which I read and really loved. While this book was a little spicier than "A Royal Pain," it was still a really fun read. Although this book is the second book in the series, you don't need to read the first book to get this one.

I really liked the love story between Sarah and Devon. Both characters appeared as secondary characters in "A Royal Pain." Sarah is an American shoe

If The Shoe Fits is the follow up story to A Royal Pain by Megan Mulry. At times the antics of Devon and Sara are richly humorous and at others, they are so sexy they threaten to combust. This is the perfect romance for your summer beach bag!

Devon Heyworth is the younger brother of the 19th Duke of Northup. He has gone through life not taking anything too seriously. He learned at a very young age to hide his brilliance from the world. He is the best man in his brother’s upcoming weddin

I LOVE SARAH JAMES.

And gosh how I wish I had her shoes. If the Shoe Fits is the second in a series from writer Megan Mulry. And tells the story of Sarah James, shoe designer and voluptuous goddess, and Devon Heyworth, younger brother to the Duke of Northrop as well as being a bit of a slut. Sarah and Devon meet at the Duke's wedding, and some hot and heavy flirting goes on. Before Sarah can blink, Devon has her stripped naked in her hotel room and her virginity is about to go bye-bye. That's rig

Although this book can be read as a standalone, why would you want too? The first book, A Royal Pain, was filled with laugh out loud and touching moments that you wouldn't want to miss out on... this second book to the Unruly Royals Series picks up right where the first one left off following Bronte's best friend, Sarah and Max's younger brother, Devon. Their story is also filled with laughable and relatable moments, but hotter!

Sarah James is a young, successful, and well-traveled gorgeous woma

I really enjoyed this, so I'd like to rate it higher, but as much as I liked them, I'm not convinced any real character growth occurred, so I don't feel like I can. I loved Sarah in A Royal Pain, so I was really looking forward to her book, and Devon was the obvious choice as a love interest. They're both wonderfully endearing characters. Sarah's never been in a relationship and has a hard time reconciling her feelings, as well as working out how a romance can fit in with her business schedule. ...more

I received an early release copy of If the Shoe Fits from netgalley. I have to admit that now that I read some pure romance books this one falls within the realm of the type I enjoy most. I seemed to have a fondness for the royals or wealthy men meeting and falling for someone that is not part of their crowd. In this case Sarah James is non-royal but she does come from a wealthy family and in her own right is very successful and wealthy. I loved her more in the first book in the series. In this ...more

If the Shoe Fits is a fun modern day romance. Sarah James is a beautiful young American entrepreneur with a designer shoe business. According to her stepmother, she is sadly twenty pounds overweight, but that voluptuousness only draws the attention of handsome Devon Heyworth. Devon is the younger brother of Max, the Duke of Northrop. He is an intelligent man with a gift for math, but he hides it behind a playboy persona. I kept picturing him as a Prince Harry sort of man.

Sarah and Devon meet at

When I began If the Shoe Fits I didn’t realize it was part of the Royal Pain series, but it worked well as a standalone. It is the tale of a modern day American who falls in love with a British aristocrat. Filled with humor, shoes, angst and a delicious romance I enjoyed this romantic tale. Three word review: steamy, charming and entertaining.

We meet Sarah James a young successful owner of a shoe company who has dreams of having her boutiques all over the world. She is the maid of honor at her b
