Well!!

This one wasn't boring, I can tell you that much.

I almost wrote the book off as a DNF within the first couple of pages, when the heroine is visited by her husband's pregnant OW. There's little else that can completely turn me off like a cheating husband. Purely for the drama of it, I decided to keep flipping and see what other outrages I could choke and fume over.

And there were other outrages, such as the heroine being completely oblivious to the serious peril of her husband's health, and the destructive poison of her man-hating best friend.

In the end though,

The ending was a little incomplete, IMO. And what kind of backwards-ass idiot couple doesn't press charges for unrepentant attempted murder, Lord knows. That was too dumb for me to swallow. "They tried to kill me, but I don't want to think about it again, so they can go scott-free without so much as a restraining order in case they might want to try again, or target a new victim." If these were real people I would give them a really disapproving look.

p.s. if you want to know the real spoiler

I read the sample of this, and this story sounded so promising. Unfortunately, after the sample, the story went straight into the crapper.

Jack and Rachel were the most irritaing characters I have ever read before. Neither of them could answer simple questions of each other, or listen to each other when they needed to. They ran around with their heads up their butts, both of them too self involved to really see what was right in front of their faces.

And Jack's pregnant side piece should have been interesting or at the very least infuriating, but all she truly turned out to be was ineffective. Even a board up the side of Rachel's head, didn't seem to knock any sense into her. This story could have been so interesting and brought up so many angsty feels, but it lacked a story that made any sense and it lacked characters worthy enough to care about.

I liked this one, it was different.
It deals with two very interesting psychological issues that are stalking and panic attacks.
The initial scene is quite shocking, because the heroine receives a visit from the hero's mistress who tells her she's pregnant with his child and she asks her to let her husband free to marry her.
The heroine is shattered. She and the hero have lived like strangers lately because after three miscarriages she hasn't been able to have sex with him anymore.
They sleep in separate bedrooms, and the heroine saw pictures of him and ow for some time.
But she's not a martyr so she tells ow she's pregnant too.
And the same evening she seduces her husband to get pregnant again.
The seduction scene was really funny because the heroine lit many candles in her bedrooms and when the hero gets back home he thinks first that there's a fire in the house then that the heroine is trying to murder him, when he sees her in a sexy lingerie.
They have some very good sex.
The hero is not feeling well lately, he's having tests for heart conditions, and he's worried but hasn't tell anything to his wife.
Ow calls him at his office and tells him she's pregnant and the child is his.
So we find out she was an amployee in his company and she was always around him after his wife had the last miscarriage. He took her to dinner out one evening but nothing happened. He was never even tempted. Then, when he took her home (her home) and he was at the door, ready to go back home, he felt dizzy for the first time and the woman asked him to sleep at her apartment until he felt fine again. He felt on the couch and left the morning after.
So now she's claiming it's his son, even if he's sure it's not, and is basically harassing him.
She's a stalker, that's it.
And a psycho one.
The hero's doctor tells him he has to stop working for six months if he wants to recover his health because he's severely stressed and he risks a stroke.
So now we have an example of a hero who is not the usual hp cold death machine as regards his life and business, but a regular man who's been under a severe stress due to business and personal matters (he was very hurt for his wife's miscarriages and felt powerless) and now he suffers from panic attacks.
The heroine finds out where he has gone (he didn't tell her he was sick) and follows him there, but sadly ow also found out where he is and goes there too.
Thank god the hero prevents the twoo women from meeting and takes the heroine away while his mother deals with ow.
Aferwards all comes out but thank god the heroine believes his explanations, realizing that ow is a lil bit on the weird side, but sadly the psychowoman tries to kill her pushing her from a cliff.
No great harm done and the heroine is pregnant again.
The hero finds out ow was one of his friends mistress and they wanted to milk him dry.
All is well in the end.
I enjoyed this book, both characters were not bad, the heroine suffered because of her miscarriage and felt a failure as a woman, and the hero was definitely not an alpha man, he was a beta introvert man who was not able to express his feelings and suffered because he was not able to reach his wife emotionally.
The character I loved the most was his mother, a sensible and practical woman who helped him to get free of ow and when he told her that he had dinner with her one evening she asked him why since he was a married man, he had dinner with another woman?
Oh, glorious wonderful woman!
I loved the seduction scene and the stalking factor, unusual for a hp, where ow is a real psychopath.
I wish hero sent her to jail because she tried to kill the heroine and a woman like that sooner or later will damage seriously someone.

Just Reread and actually it was better. Or I got more tolerant. Lol a woman shows up at the house saying she is carrying her husbands baby. They have been sleeping apart for two years so she thinks it could be true. She had seen him take the woman to the Corp apartment but she didn't want to believe it. The OW is certifiably crazy. The hero hates her because she is stealing him. He took her out to dinner one.night, and that pissed me off, and ended up spending the night on the couch because he was ill. He shouldn't have asked her out in the first place. This woman is unbelievable.lots of drama. She tried to kill the wife even at one point and the heroine doesn't even call the police. The hero goes to great lengths to keep the fact that he has afib. And they just tiptoe around each other and it drove me crazy.

God. All characters are annoying except Jack. Oh wait! He is kind of annoying, too. If he'd just explain everything to Rachel in the first place, all conflicts would be resolve. I hate all the misunderstandings!!!

He has a heart condition and is being blackmailed for nothing he’s done by a psycho stalker.

They both love each other.

That’s it.

I basically did not read it. So I don’t know what happens.

Read it years ago. Gave it two stars then too.

As a reviewer has said - what kind of wife does not know her husband is feeling unwell? Only one who hates him.

She wasn’t at all nice.

I don't know what to say actually it was a HP like I haven't read before. While I will admit that this author is a hit/miss with me this one was just sooo out there that I was quite flabbergasted with it. It was like a train wreck you just couldn't look away from.

Angsty book that i couldn't put down but hated the h she was very selfish and self absorbed. Everybody kept commenting how sick the H looked but the only thing the h kept thinking was about herself. And the H was really sick i felt bad for him.

I hated how it felt like the h was one upping the H. Playing games. I felt like they needed some couples counselling because she felt wayy to entitled. She was the only one entitled to suffer and grieve and she felt justified because in her mind the H was doing much worse. So whatever games she played was oke because the H was having an affair that she didn't even take the time to confirm or address.

Read this book a few years back and decided to give it another shot just to see if my opinion of it would change; it didn't. The characters weren't very likeable to me but the heroine in particular, was just irritating and insufferable. So many misunderstandings that, had Jack not been so taciturn, could've been cleared up. This book was a mess, but I've read worse and I've read better.

Unnecessary angst that could have been avoided if they had talked frankly to each other.

La trama es buena, los personajes son irritantes y muy individualistas, hay algunos detalles que no cierran al final del libro pero, el conflicto se desarrolla muy bien y no apresura los sucesos

After enduring numerous miscarriages, she chooses to disconnect from her partner for a year and a half, terrified of the prospect of getting pregnant and experiencing yet another loss. The strain on their marriage led to the involvement of another woman.

The aspect of the story that didn't sit well with me was the way he handled his relationship with his wife. He consistently displays anger and criticism towards her. Both of them were experiencing trauma separately and didn't support each other through it.

In order to recover, he hides his illness from his wife and departs for a six-week period. While facing a threat to her life from the other woman, they manage to successfully navigate their trauma.

While I enjoyed the story, I found the protagonist to be overly harsh, and the female character's actions of pushing him away instead of fostering cooperation. I suggest you read this story.

Jack Riordan was gorgeous and a real man. However, Rachel had her fears about her husband: they'd grown so far apart since they'd failed to have a child. But a real man needed a real woman -- and Rachel was determined to win him back. She would seduce him, and let him love her. And maybe she'd conceive -- and carry to full term -- Jack's much-wanted baby

Hero and heroine seemed to marry for love but their relationship fell apart when the heroine kept miscarrying their babies. When a woman shows up saying she is pregnant with her husbands baby the heroine knows it's time to kick it into over drive.

Another reviewer described this hero as a male doormat. Good call. The heroine was selfish and thoughtless and didn't deserve him.
