I really enjoyed reading Strands of Fate, by author, Linda Kozar. The book starts off in Scotland, the home country of main character, Shannon McClain and her best friend, Colleen. Shannon is struggling to get by after the death of her husband. She learns that she's inherited an estate from her grandmother which she's never met. She must travel to Oregon to receive the inheritance. When frightening messages begin to arrive, Shannon realizes someone doesn't want her to get what she deserves. Koza ...more

Enjoyable read. Keeps you guessing as to what is going to happen but at the same time makes you think of the decisions you make in life.

This is a delightful cozy mystery!

The development of the main character Shannon McClain is incredible. I was able to connect with her from the very beginning. She is surrounded by numerous friends by the end of the book even though she has picked up and moved from Scotland to Oregon fairly early in the story. We are introduced to each one and slowly learn more about them and their lives. I think that this will continue throughout the series.

The mystery is a fairly light one. No one has been murd

This is part of the Creative Woman Mysteries series from Annie's Attic. Shannon, a widowed Scottish woman, learns that she's the heir of an American grandmother she never knew she had. She has to attend the reading of the will in Oregon to claim her grandmother's home and crafts business, but someone seems to be trying to prevent her from receiving her inheritance.

It's a pleasant, fast read, and I would like to read more in the series. It's a little too simplistic, though - some aspects just co

A great story to kick off a new mystery series. Set in Apple Grove Oregon, Shannon comes from Scotland to find out about an inheritance from a grandmother she never knew about. She hopes to learn about her mother who she has not seen since she was 4. Before she leaves Scotland, she is warned not to go to Apple Grove.
The mystery of who doesn't want her there and who can she trust is off!

I've been reading this new series about the same characters but each book is written by a different author. It's a typical murder mystery and can get a little cheesy and predictable but a quick read and enjoyable.

Shannon travels from Scotland to the United States to learn out what she has inherited from her grandmother. It will take all of Shannon’s artistic talent and investigative skills to tell a story of missing jewelry and find peace.

This book is just what a cozy mystery should be it keeps you guessing, has memorable characters, a great setting, and leave you wanting more. I knocked off one star because it starts off kind of slow. Definitely worth reading!
