Why do some church leaders thrive while others fizzle? What can a preacher who has lost his passion do to flourish in church leadership once again? How should a pastor handle the overwhelming demands on his time, energy, emotions and family? Dr. Ronnie Floyd delivers a practical guide to ministry for pastors and church leaders. After decades of pastoral ministry, Floyd's fire burns red hot to live and share the gospel of Jesus Christ. In 10 Things Every Minister Needs to Know he offers invaluable wisdom for sustaining family relationships and emotional health while moving ministry teams and churches to succeed. Floyd presents a clear plan for living out God's plan instead of living in reaction to other people's plans. Don't miss his wise counsel on decision-making, choosing your battles, obedience, and servanthood. Wisdom is to be prized more highly than riches. The wealth of practical, biblically sound principles Floyd offers is a treasure chest of wisdom birthed from the real experiences and true successes of one of America's great church leaders. 10 Things Every Minister Needs to Know is highly recommended by pastors of growing churches, seminary leaders, and professors. Dr. Ergun Caner, President of Liberty Theological Seminary recommends that church leaders "devour this work. The chapter on prayer alone is worth ten times the price." Dr. Floyd's wife, Jeana, wrote the companion to this 10 Things Every Minister's Wife Need's to Know . Together these books can inject light, life, and hope into the future of your church and church leaders.
(3.7/5) A good book, nothing necessarily profound in these pages. Simple and clear reminders without any extra fluff as well as being pretty well written with strong advice. Don’t think I’ll ever need to read it again though.
Ronnie Floyd gives an awesome perspective of what many church leaders, ministry leaders, and Pastors, will go through. Through each of the 10 steps are practical issues that are faced and steps to deal with the situations. This book is a definite must have for the information and knowledge and a must keep as a reference for down the road.
What do yo know the book has 10 chapters. It is not that I found this book as particularly profound or useful. But it reminded me of things that I usually think as simple and routine. But it is easy to loose track of spending regular time in prayer, or remembering that we are not what we do. So, 3 stars.
This book is a must read for every minister. It doesn't matter where you serve or at what phase you are in ministry, I highly recommend this book to you.
