I first read this book back in 2006 when I was doing my MA at SOAS. Having been reading more books in French about Taoism and internal alchemy lately I thought it would be a good idea to go back and re-read this book in English to give myself a refresher. This book is excellent as it lays out the rituals, texts and practices of Mao Shan Taoism as it was originally concieved in the 3rd and 4th centuries.
