Daniel Postgate delivers a humorous story about a dog who smells. The story tells of Bill who falls for an award winning dog, who gets herself into a bit of trouble; eventually Bill comes to her rescue and saves her. This story is a feel good story, and could be read to KS1 or early KS2 children. Although some of the poetry at times does not feel in sync with the overall feel of the story, I would still recommend this book for the simplicity of the story.

Sweet story with an interesting rhyme scheme.

Do not judge anyone according to their images. It unlikely to understand what lies underneath their skin at first sight.

Nice rhythm could be used as a precursor to learning about poetry in KS1

Smelly Bill falls in love with a gorgeous dog, but the dog's owner says he's not good enough for her. For the one he loves, he changes -- cleans up and is no longer smelly.
But, when the gorgeous dog falls into a mess, Bill is the only one willing to rescue her. From then on, he's appreciated smells and all.

Funny story about a smelly dog that falls in love with a prize winning show dog. The pretty show dog gets into some trouble and Smelly Bill ends up saving the day! The dogs are in love and the crazy show dog owner is happy once again.

Smelly Bill develops a crush on a prissy dog. Unfortunately the owner of the prissy dog doesn't think Smelly Bill is good enough for her dog. This book was good. I loved the illustrations and my daughter loved the story. Would recommend.

Nice story about love and being yourself that even kids will get. Still, rhymes felt forced and awkward at times.
