Everyone jumped to their feet and stood at attention. The General stood before us, red with anger while the entire arena held their breath, waiting to see what was going to happen.
“Harry, Chael, you’re free to go see the healwife to have your arms looked after and Caleb…”
Everyone looked at me, shocked by my refusal. Even the General stood speechless.

This book will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart. I was reading Chael's Luck when my husband had to go in for emergency surgery. I sat in the Surgery waiting room for 2 hours with my Kindle Fire. After speaking with my mom on the phone for a few minutes, I decided to read. AND READ I DID! I was quite startled when the surgeon came in to tell me everything was fine and my husband would be back in his room soon. I was so lost in this book that the wait during Jeff's surgery went so fast! I e ...more

This is yet another wonderful book from M. Chester. I was excited to read it after falling in love with Jasper & Hayden's story. I think Chael's Luck is just as amazing. Chael (quite possibly my favorite of Mireille's creations) is a heartfelt character from the first page to the last. Even the secondary characters are easy to fall in love with. The story is involving and kept me up into the late night/early morning hours because I didn't want to stop reading. I would readily read it again a ...more

HOLY COW! Mi is a FABULOUS writer. She has created a world where once you enter you do not want to leave. You want to stay and fight side by side with characters. You have so many emotions that in one breath you are yelling and the other breath you are crying and then rooting for the underdog.

Chael's Luck is just that story. When Mi said I could read it early I just about jumped out of my skin. I read The Chosen One Triology and absolutely loved it. Mi has done it again with Chael's Luck. In thi

With her masterful world building and exceptional story telling skills, Mireille Chester has done it once again. A time, a place, and a group of people to fall in love with. And I absolutely have.

Chael's Luck is a story of mystery, love, self discovery and battle; set against a beautifully coloured world of magic, mayhem, and strong friendships.

Mireille's characters are strong, independent, and loyal. And they feel like my best friends. So much so, that finishing this book and saying goodbye (fo

Opening very dramatically, we are completely immersed into a world of fantasy and medieval like knights. Following the journey of Chael, a young knight in training, we witness his many trials and tribulations. He is known as the class 'runt', not only because of his small size, but also by the fact that he's named after the God of bad luck.
It seems at times that Chael is haunted by his name sake; bad luck seems to follow him everywhere, even from the moment he was born. But as he accepts his f

I sat down yesterday afternoon thinking I would just take a peek at it. After the first few chapters, I knew I had to make a pot of coffee, get a warm blanket and settle in because I wasn’t going anywhere. I read the whole thing because I literally could not stop.

There is nothing I love more than getting lost in an amazing world with characters I want to spend time with and Mireille Chester has created that with Chael’s Luck. I have to admit that I am a romantic at heart and her story transporte

“The Day will come when you’ll no longer know who you are and others will question it as well.” He frowned, his black eyes on mine. “When that day comes, only you can decide who that is.” That teaser will speak volumes of the book.

This was such a good story and I enjoyed every second of it. You are immediately caught up in the storyline constantly wondering what the big secret is that Chael and his family are hiding. And oh boy is it good. The author did such a wonderful job keeping you wonderi

Chael’s Luck is the first book I’ve read by Mireille Chester. I must say I was pleasantly surprised with this book. It started a little slow to me, but that could have been outside factors playing in as well. This is a great story about struggle and finding one’s self. The twist, that you know is coming, will shock you. The book follows Chael from battling to become a Knight to fighting for what is right and true. It’s difficult to go into details without spoiling it. I loved this book. It was d ...more

First I have to let you know I'm not a professional reviewer just an avid reader and I was lucky to be given an Advanced Readers Copy. Okay so here goes my review, LOVED IT! The characters, the setting, the 'magic' of the story, there wasn't anything I didn't like except that it ended. Mireille Chester has such a gift for writing that her novels are a 'smooth' read. By that I mean it moves along so smoothly that you get totally lost in the story and are able to feel all the emotions her WONDERFU ...more

Most definitely a different book form most I have read but so excited still! I can’t post to much without giving to much away but lets say the twist in the one is awesome and only make the story that much better! I have to say I feel in love with Ian and Chael as well:) But you will see why once you read. There is adventure, love, heartbreak and excitement all wrapped in one book!!;) This is a must read:)

Chael's entire family lies dead. Chael has been accused of the murders. One surprising twist after another awaits you in the revelation of who he really is.

For the most part I enjoyed this book. I enjoyed following Chael on his journey of discovery. There was plenty of action and adventure though at times I felt like the book was a bit rushed. I would have liked a bit more *struggle to succeed* in a few of the scenes. There are 2 reasons I gave this book 3 stars instead of 4. The repetitive use of certain descriptions and the fact that there were also quite a few word mistakes that made it through editing. I understand that no book will ever be com

Chael's Luck was a wonderful story that I really enjoyed. The book is slim so I had it finished in 2 hours but I found that the book was not rushed in the slightest. It had just the right amount of romance in-between all the action. The words flowed smoothly together and there was always something going on right from the beginning. There was about four different shifts in gear during the story changing the characters objectives which was nice so that it was not a long book about one thing. I fou ...more

This is the first book I tackled after a long period of depression and anxiety which had destroyed my reading focus. My attention never wavered as I read and although I suspected a major point about halfway through the book, I couldn't be sure until the end. Well written and full of action. I loved it!

I figured out the secret from the beginning. It kept me going to find out the why's of it! There was an endearing twist at the end! I didn't see it coming!
I did have problems staying connected to Ian and Chael! Maybe because of the secret! I can't write why because it would spoil it! Gah!
