When We Become Weavers brings together a multitude of voices exploring the many dimensions of the Midwest queer female experience: a land of moderation and extremes, lakes and thunderstorms, tall grass prairie and dance clubs, racism and transphobia, assault and female erotic power. Some lovely poems by a diverse group of female-identified people. My particular favorite was Carla Christopher's poignant "Always a Survivor in the Room," but there are gems aplenty to be found in this slim but powerful volume, as well as some very wrenching pieces that are hard to read. Highly recommended for readers looking for good poems, curated with a lot of care.

Loved this diverse collection of poems. Spectacular to read through the many experiences of queer women of the Midwest and see how each recorded it on paper. Would recommend to any friend interested in poetry.
