How can Satan bring two Pure Souls (the priest and the powerful evil-fighting witch) into Hell? He leads them into temptation...

Pure & Sinful was my first book by Killian McRae and I was pleasantly surprised. This paranormal story made definitely very original, exciting and thrilling read for me. Pure & Sinful offers a mixture of witches, Greek mythology, religion, archangels, Satan and his demons. And this mixture really worked for me. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book. I could not put it down and I

This was my first experience with a paranormal novel. Or at least the first in a very long time. I have always loved paranormal existence (hello, big Buffy and even bigger Charmed fan) and the synopsis had me very intrigued. This book far surpassed my expectations and for that, I’m super grateful to have been given the opportunity to read an advanced copy!

I must first say that Ms. McRae knows how to write. So fantastically, at that. There’s the perfect
The book had me at the first line...

... and kept me engrossed until the very end.
With that witty opening line, we are thrown right into the action. Meet the Pure Souls, a demon hunting motley crew of three chosen paranormal beings - witch Riona Dade and her 'pillars', Father (and Wiccan) Marcello 'Marc' Angeletti and demigod Dee - whose today's mission it is to send Riona's deceitful ex-boyfriend, demon Jerry, back to hell. This book had me from the title! Can you be pure & sinful? Killian McRae did a great job of bringing her characters to life as supernatural beings with over the top personalities and 'issues.'

Riona Dade, a witch, is the new leader of a trio of warriors fighting against Satan called the Pure Souls. Poor girl, talk about on-the-job training, while going from thinking she is batsh*t crazy to finding out she has special 'powers' instead! Her 'pillars' or support team members are Dee, who is a Demi-g

I received this book as a ARC for a upcoming blog tour, but since I didn’t sign up for a ARC I wasn’t sure if I would read it. But of course I can’t say no to a book without at least taking a peak.
So when I opened it and saw the first paragraph was “A priest, a witch and a demigod walk into a bar. No joke” I thought this could be an interesting read.

Witches, Satan, Priest, Demigods, and Archangels…..OH MY!!

Welcome to the world of paranormal where pretty much anything goes! I forgot how much I really enjoy this genre. Pure & Sinful is my first book by Killian McRae and I will definitely be picking up the next book in the series. Her writing style is witty and definitely keeps you hook. I found myself chuckling and highlighting through most of this book. No one lacks for sarcastic

My review in French:

3,5 / 5

In "Pure & Sinful", we follow a trio of demon hunters; a witch Riona Dade, a demi-god Dee, and a priest Marc. They go from mission to mission to rid the world of bad guys while dealing with their personal feelings. The witch and the priest are into each other and the demi-god tries to prevent them from dooming themselves.
The archangel overlooking their work warn them that if anything sexual was to happen between the two of them,

I was pulled into this book from the very first sentence! What an excellent start for any book, a laugh, and there was plenty more along the way. There’s a touch of F/F action in here, but nothing that intense. It’s actually a very sensual touch that gives off the feeling of giving in to temptation. Lots of fun, excitement, action, adventure and much more to be had within these pages; any paranormal reader out there will love Pure & Sinful!

When I saw this book on Netgalley, I didn't realize who the author was. If I had, I might not have requested it, and would have missed out on an actually very interesting book.

The author combines themes of heaven and hell, good and evil with witchcraft and forces beyond human knowledge to craft an book that is full of action and romance, yet also delivers a few great messages.

She doesn't shy away from sacrificing her characters, if need be, so bring your tissues as well. The characters are nic

I haven't been this excited about a book in a long while. Pure & Sinful is clever, new, and a total breath of fresh air. As Killian's critique partner, I feel so very lucky to have been able to read this story early on.

Killian weaves a tale that is witty and angsty at the same time—and hawt. Did I mention the story was HAWT? The chemistry and tension between Riona and Marcello is off-the-charts. As is the chemistry between her and one of the Big Bad's minions (who, btw, I totally fell for from l

Oh, how I loved this book...let me count some of the ways:

1. The feel of the trio of Pure Souls reminded me of classic Buffy, Xander, & Willow...funny, energetic banter with just the right amount of sarcasm.

2. Forbidden fruit sexual attraction and tension that would make Meg & Father de Bricassart blush.

3. Jerry the Demon likes Zimas and he's awesome.

4. Angels, Lucifer, and religious loopholes, oh my!

5. Marc...sigh. Gotta love a tortured soul, but a tortured soul in a priest's collar makes it al

What a fantastic read!

I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this one. Honestly, the idea of a romance with a hot priest sounded a little bit cheesy to me. Boy, was I wrong! This book is clever and funny, has a great plot that moves along nicely, has an interesting cast of characters and I did not want to put it down.

Right from the beginning this book was immensely entertaining. The first line in the book?

A priest, a witch and a demigod walk into a bar.

Review by Ollie for bittenbyparanormalromance

First off I have to say the beginning of the book had me laughing out loud as the author demonstrates her sense of humour by starting off with the line "a priest, a witch and a demigod walk into a bar." Right off the bat I knew this was going to be a different paranormal book and it was.

I was instantly drawn to the idea of a tough, alpha, sexy priest fighting beside a witch and a demigod against the forces of evil and Satan himself. The thing I kept

I’ve always loved reading witty banters and sarcastic wisecracks. Let’s just say that this book has caught my tickle spot and has made me look like a loony by making me chuckle at odd intervals while I was inside a very public and very crowded café. This took me a minute to get into....but it was so worth it!! It is such a page turner. I am a mathematician so I thought it was so cool that Riona is a Statistician by day but the Keystone by night. The Keystone is a magical being that draws from her pillars. Her pillars are two hot guys!! One is a demi-god, son of Zeus, named Dee. The other pillar is an untouchable priest, Marc.

So you go through the book learning about their relationships, enjoying them vanquish demons, and bein
WTF Are You Reading?
This is a truly fun romp on the sexy side of demon hunter drama. It has all the sensual sizzle of some of it's more hard core counterparts; but just enough camp and humor to let you know that at least a few of the players involved don't take themselves too seriously/
It seems that Riona just can't catch a break, whether it be in love or at work. Torn as she is between having to kill her demon of an ex, and trying not to seduce her "holier than thou" priest partner. There is just no letting up on

What a great beginning to a series. I loved this - and this is coming from someone who is pretty hesitant when it comes to paranormal books.

The characters in the book are so wonderful. Dee, Marc, and Riona make quite the trio. Each has his or her own personality - complete with quirks and flaws. And, of course, Marc's flaw was my favorite. Talk about a sexy, outspoken priest. His edgy personality is to die for - and who doesn't love a bit of a corrupt Catholic?

Even the secondary characters hav

I received this book from a giveaway on Good Reads. The title and description led me to believe I would enjoy.
After receiving this book I dug in right away only to put it back down before finishing the first chapter. The writers style was not what I expected, and as we all know different is not bad, it is just different. I began reading another book and put this one off. Full of twists, turns and humor, Pure and Sinful hooked me in at the first page and rarely loosened its grip. Combining angels, demons, priests and humans, adding a touch of F/F sexual activity and plenty of other steamy sexual and sensual scenes, top it all with snark and a compelling series of events and you have scratched the surface of this book.

Each new character is introduced and presented with their own level of personality intact, humor laced with sarcasm and envisioned eyerolls draw th

I really enjoyed the characters in this books - the (demi)gods, witch and wiccan, archangel, lucifer etc..
It was so entertaining to watch their relationships unfold, their characters develop and to get to know each of their backstories throughout.

I think what made it such an entertaining read was the writing style of Killian McRae. It had everything a good read needs (in my opinion): it was fresh, sarcastic at times, and the pace matched the story so well, I never felt anything like a slow poin

I love the heroine, the men are delicious, the dialogue funny and entertaining and though the smexy is sparse, the steam factor was hot enough to get me breathing shallow from anticipation. But who am I kidding, the men made the book for me! Each of them are their own person, nobody faded in the background, each had their own quirks heck, we even get to play with Ramiel and Lucifer a bit and their bits were funny similar to that of Castiel in Supernatural when Dean is corru

Hmmmm..not sure what to make of this book. I can say I liked it, so 3 stars.

It's a very busy book -- there is a large cast of characters, and they're mostly all paranormal: angels, demons, gods, witches. They're also very mobile -- constantly moving between 'realms' which means the reader has to pay attention!! Riona, the witch, and Fr. Marc fall for each other, which enables Lucifer to go after their souls.

Riona is an entertaining heroine. She's smart and independent and very likeable. However,

I found the beginning of this book to be a little confusing because it throws you right into an action scene without introducing any of the characters. Therefore, it was hard to follow who was doing what and why in the first few pages. I kept reading, though, and am glad I did. This book was pure fun. It is not a literary classic in the making, but it was enjoyable and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who likes this genre. I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy this but I miss paranormal from time to time and sometimes you find stories that can be just a little too cheesy and this one was really good.
