AMAZING. AMAZING. AMAZING.
Kimmie is such a lovely character. Finds out she has a father after 18 years of her life is definitely not something easy and Kimmie wants her daddy back. So it was simple, she's going to meet her father and spend summer before collage with him. Oh, but life had another plan, so he mixed Mason in the story.
Lovely story about two individuals who at first try to fight their feelings, but as always love beats everything.

First 35% of the book was good enough. Later than that..it was arrgghh..!!(I felt like pulling my hair out!)
Here are a few instances that did not agree with me at all:
1)There is talk of giving a 12 year old space to come to terms with a shocking and unwelcome news she's just received .Well,in my opinion, twelve year olds in such a situation need a lot of hugs and someone to hold them as they cry!

Well, it's safe to say that Tiffany King has done it again! Tiffany is such a sneaky lil writer too…she knows just how to get under your skin without you even realizing it. You are just rolling along enjoying a Unlikely Allies and then BAM! you are staying up waaayyyy past your bedtime leaving tear stains on your kindle as you devour the final pages. (I even had to re-read the ending just to be sure it really happened, which then made me cry AGAIN.)

Well Tiffany King has done it again!!!! I truly LOVED Unlikely Allies. I felt that this book sucked me in, she made me feel the same feelings the characters were feeling. I thought Mason and Kimberly were great together. I liked how their relationship didn't start off that strong. They worked at their feelings and built it up over time. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone. This one will definitely have a spot on my favs shelf:)

The first thing I’d like to mention is that I waited until the morning to write this review. I wanted so badly to write it immediately after finishing the book…but I think the review would have looked like this: “HOLY F*** WHAT THE WHO AWGJADF AKDFGARGKL SHE DID WHA FDKJ KFMG OMG AMAZING…” And so on. Instead, as I do for many reviews that leave me with that reaction, I wait a few hours or overnight to absorb all of it.

I adore Tiffany King. As a person, and as an author, so I had a good idea going in that I would enjoy this book. But I wasn’t prepared for just how addictive Unlikely Allies turned out to be.
This book kept me walking on the treadmill for a lot longer than I had planned (double win), and staying up way too late at night to squeeze in a few more chapters before finally crashing and dreaming of mountains and trees and hot, arrogant men.

This is not your typical YA novel. Although I wouldn't normally pick it out myself to read it, I heard great things about it and wanted to see for myself.
I read it in one sitting. It's fairly short, and Tiffany King's writing keeps you engaged the whole time.
The first half of it is great! Wonderful pace, interesting characters, great dialogue.
I especially loved Amy and Rick.

I finished reading this last night and I woke up today feeling weird because I can't seem to absorb what have happened on this one. This is my first Tiffany King novel and I feel excited about it and all because the blurb looks promising and the cover has this mysterious effect on it.
I was really drawn in by the characters. There are several characters that are very much easy to love.

This book is the first I have read by Tiffany King, and she can write a story!!
I enjoyed everything about this book! The unique plot never dulls, desperate circumstances that kept me up all night turning the pages, with a love story story to make your heart melt. Unlikely Allies was a fun, fast read with a lot of great elements: it's a family drama, an adventure/survival story (think Hatchet, but with kissing), a coming of age story, and a sweet romance.
MC Kimberly (don't you dare call her Kimmie, buster!) is pretty stunned, angry, hurt and, yes, curious when her mom tells her shortly after her 18th b-day that, by the way she does have a Dad after all. Unlikely Allies is my favorite book of the summer. Hands down, without question. I can’t express with mere words just how much I love this book, nor can I tell you how much I love the author. Tiffany King has a knack for writing some of the most beautiful stories. That being said, I must tell you about her newly released book Unlikely Allies.

what a fantastic start this book had? I actually thought I am gonna tag with "in-dreamland-state" 'coz that is for major swoon-worthy books only. But (yeah that was what I feared too) after Chapter 5, i don't know where that awesomeness went. The book loses its light tone and goes a bit darker. it's easier to break this into what I liked and didn't lists:

God damn you Tiffany King!! Do you care that I had to get up at 4am for work today?? Nooooo...you had to make your book unputdownable.
So yeah, tantrum over. LOVED it. Loved all the characters...main, side, side side...all. Kimberly and Mason threw me at first with the hostility...I mean, obviously I knew it was coming b/c duh, I did read the synopsis...but I really wasn't sure I liked where that was going and it was harsher at times than I expected. I loved this book. It was a sweet romance (which Ms. King does very well) and I finished it in almost one sitting. I really hate when my job gets in the way of a good book.
A few things bothered me(hence the 4 star review) One, I felt Mason lacked depth. I wanted more from him and his past and while he was a great character, I just felt he lacked something. The last is that I felt the romance lacked full development (but it is still a sweet romance). You don't feel them falling for each other and ...more

Absolutely couldn't put it down! I particularly loved Kimberly and Mason--all the characters, really! It was refreshing to read about really nice, good people, trying to do the "right" thing! Even though Mason was prickly at first, we understand why he's like that. Really well-fleshed out, interesting characters to root for, and a compelling plot that keeps you turning pages, long into the night!
I loved the relationship between Beach Bunny and Greeky! The sass and sarcasm between them in the beginning was hilarious; I love when Kim asks Mason if he orders manuals on being an a**hole or does it just come naturally...all the characters in the story are likable especially co-counselor Amy! Unlikely Allies was full of great characters, realistic dialogue, twist, turns and a Greek God hunk!
I've been a Tiffany King fan since Meant to Be, so naturally I had to get my hands on Unlikely Allies as soon as possible. I finished it the same day I received it. It was that good, on par with the rest of her novels if not even better!

Once again, King has blown my mind with another beautiful young adult novel that sucked me in from start to finish. I absolutely adore King’s books, all of them, and Unlikely Allies is another gem that I highly recommend to any who enjoy a sound, realistic plot line, swoon worthy characters, a bit of drama, and a triumphant ending.

Kimberly was a character that you couldn't help liking! At the beginning of the book she's put in a situation where she learns she has a father she's never known about. So what does she do? She goes to see him! If I were in her position I KNOW I would be crazy nervous. And she was too. But once her and her father meet each other the relationship they have is seriously the sweetest thing ever.
One thing I thought was super cool was that Kimberly got to help out at her Dad's summer foster camp. And ...more
When I first started reading this book, I was somewhat reluctant and doubted I would like it all that much. But a few chapters through, and I was totally loving it! One of the most beautiful books ever read! I enjoyed it so much! It made me cry, smile, giggle, chuckle, got me annoyed when either Kim or Mason acted stupidly, got me worried when they were stranded and sick during the rainstorm, got me angry and sad and annoyed when things between Kim and Mason didn't go well after the accident...

Unlikely Allies is a short, easy read with nothing out of ordinary writing. I don’t have anything bad to say nor do I have anything great to say about this book, I guess I am just indifferent.

“He let out a groan and I stopped tugging at the material, thinking I had hurt him.
"Are you okay?", I asked, leaning over him.
"Could you kiss me or something so I don't feel so perverted?" he asked.
I couldn't help my laugh of relief. Still, I had to admit, the way he was looking at me was pretty hot.
"Really? Even with an exposed fracture you're thinking of something like that?" I chastised.
"It's not like everything's broke," he said, sounding mortified.”
