Recommends it for: You
I ABSOLUTELY loved this book!!!!!!! It is so simple that it's lovely. It's a great story of adventure: discovering who you are and being okay with it, not caring what others think of you, putting others cares & needs before your own, having others' best interest in mind when making hard life-changing decisions, and of course, a tid-bit of love in between all the goings-on & adventures. :o)

It is about discovering the world for yourself and not through the eyes of your parents or peers. It

I have to start by saying that the cover is GORGEOUS! If I was choosing a book by it's cover, I would definitely pick this one! I absolutely loved this book! I could not put it down! Anything with a prince and princess is usually a winner for me, but this book is even better! It has multiple princes and princesses on scene over the course of the book! I was completely drawn into Kit's world as she was faced with danger and new circumstances. I felt for her and she was unsure of herself and I che ...more

I thought this would be an ordinary medieval book, but it turned out to be full of twists I didn't see. The Princess was very believable in the way she reacted to everything. I liked that she was a true but flawed heroine, and that we were able to start seeing in Andric the things she was hoping would be there. His story was heartbreaking but inspiring; he is definitely one of my very favorite characters of all time. If you like sword fighting, communicating with animals, Romeo and Juliet type l ...more

Highly recommended.

It has been such a long time since I last found a fantasy story I could love. This book was it. Thief Prince is a very lovely, light read, with a wonderful story line. I enjoyed the journey with the characters very much. I would say this is more of a very well crafted, slowly, creeping, romance story and it was exactly what I enjoyed.

This is a book you would enjoy reading, huddled up in a blanket, on a lovely winter night by a fireside.

Thief Prince by Cheree Alsop is a YA fantasy novel about a young princess who’s been kidnapped. But not with malicious intent. She and the other young royals are taken to Antor for the winter. The young Prince of Antor wants them to know what their countries have done to his, since his people will soon have no home.
But Kit finds that the kidnapping is perhaps the best thing to happen to her lately, because she comes into her own and learns about herself and about ruling a country.

Honestly I was tempted to put down this book a few times. It starts out really slow and from the main female character's point of view where it was difficult to feel sympathetic.
It's only into around chapter 6 or so where it picks up. You begin to understand the motivation for what the main male character does and you understand his plight. Quite a burden for someone so young. Yet at the end, I still wonder if what happened was the expected outcome.

Sometimes it what was being said and shown did

Princess Kit, second born to her kingdom, grew up riding, sword fighting, and spending more time with ‘common folk’ than her brother, heir to the throne. However, he becomes ill and it is grim. Kit is elevated to heir status and is forced to hang out with other kingdom heirs, much to her despair. Once a year, all the Crowns (heirs to the thrones) of several small nations gather to socialize. This year, they had the extra treat of ostracizing Kit, seeing her as a stand in and inferior. One night, ...more

I listened to the Audible version of Thief Prince and it is fantastic! It is a YA fantasy adventure, with a side story about how love conquers all. It was very easy to slip into the story and escape my dull commute to work while listening to it.

Thief Prince starts off when the heroine, Kit, agrees to be the heir of her kingdom after her brother is too sick to do so. Soon after, Kit is "kidnapped" by Andric, the Prince of Antor, who wants Kit and other royals he has taken to experience the devast

I really should stop reading books for young adults. the characters seem childish and shallow. since this is my review for almost all the books in this genre, it seems unfair to judge a book by genre. it might be because I am getting old :p anyway, give it a try if you are younger than 20. if not, do not keep your expectations high in terms of plot and character depth.
