Goodnight Moon ABC: An Alphabet Book

Margaret loved animals. Most of her books have animals as characters in the story. She liked to write books that had a rhythm to them. Sometimes she would put a hard word into the story or poem. She thought this made children think harder when they are reading.
She wrote all the time. There are many scraps of paper where she quickly wrote down a story idea or a poem. She said she dreamed stories and then had to write them down in the morning before she forgot them.
She tried to write the way children wanted to hear a story, which often isn't the same way an adult would tell a story. She also taught illustrators to draw the way a child saw things. One time she gave two puppies to someone who was going to draw a book with that kind of dog. The illustrator painted many pictures one day and then fell asleep. When he woke up, the papers he painted on were bare. The puppies had licked all the paint off the paper.
Margaret died after surgery for a bursting appendix while in France. She had many friends who still miss her. They say she was a creative genius who made a room come to life with her excitement. Margaret saw herself as something else - a writer of songs and nonsense.

Goodnight Moon ABC is a children’s picture book – alphabet story.

I selected this book from Google, I searched for alphabet books and this story was suggested.
The audience for this story is intended for babies through five years. I believe this is a good age range because the book teaches readers the alphabet.
- I know this book fits into the category of alphabet because each page goes over a new letter with words to teach the reader.
- For the lines in this book, the letters are always more prominent and bigger. This is used to capture the readers attention and showcase the letter they are learning on that page.
- I would use this book to teach letters. It is an excellent book to show what each letter (upper and lowercase) look like and words that start with the letters.

This book is a great read for students learning the alphabet. The visuals are colorful and show what each letter means. For example, you may see Ee, for elephant followed by a drawing of one. This can be beneficial for students struggling to understand each letter.

Jack found this book at the Canal Winchester Library and read it there. He enjoyed the letters and looked through a few times. Once, he let me name the objects, but he didn't really care what they were. It was all about the letters.

It’s good. All of the things are present in the original “Good night, moon” though some I wasn’t sure about. It was neat to go back and find them. Baby is still too young for it.

As Goodnight Moon is fast becoming a favorite staple bedtime book, it was nice to find an accompanying book. Goodnight Moon ABC is a fun little board book that brings to memory for AppleBlossom our normal reading of Goodnight Moon, but also something different and educational. Through each page some word for each letter of the alphabet is found and brought from the Goodnight Moon book. I think it is a fun, and as she grows will cause her to point out the letters when we also read Goodnight Moon. I think it was probably a fun project to do and I am curious how the Goodnight Moon 123: A Counting Book will be as well.
My only qualm is that for somethings they really had to stretch a letter a bit like "O for Outside" and "P for Paintings" and the worst one in my opinion is "U for Under the covers". Yet then I guess that was all they had to work with. Overall I like it.

Goodnight Moon ABC An Alphabet Book by Margaret Wise Brown, illustrated by Clement Hurd.
This small ABC book is great for parents that want to help their young child start to learn their alphabet. The book does try to piggyback off of the original Goodnight Moon book by the same writer. As for the alphabet, I think that the book could have done a better job at pairing the letter with the item, for instance instead of just having "Aa Air" it could have "As is for Air", to try and have the child reread and understand what letter there are talking about. One thing that I did enjoy about the book is that by the middle of the book, a large rendition of the original book is displayed with items that were being used for the alphabet can be found all around the two page drawing. This book is great for young children that are beginning to learn the alphabet, and also for readers that read the original and want to add to their Goodnight Moon collection.

Goodnight Moon ABC is a very simple ABC book, not showing much creativity. This book is very colorful, showing how all of the different items in the room could represent different letters of the alphabet. This could lead to a great activity for the classroom, having the kids make their own alphabet out of either a room in their house or to make an alphabet book of things in the classroom. This could also be used to compare to the original Goodnight Moon, being as the pictures in this book are the same as the original book. Personally, I would want to use this book at home for a child younger than primary school age to introduce the alphabet.

Great choice for the learners I teach. Many of my first graders read very well in Spanish but are still learning the names of the letters of the alphabet in English. This book was great because I could elicit the names of the letters, and also nouns that begin with this letter. This reinforces their phonetic awareness. It's of course convenient to have the pictures all in one place and obviously better (the correct way to do it!) and more memorable to teach vocabulary (lamp, moon etc.) in context.

Using the art from the classic book "Goodnight Moon", this title focuses on objects that fit the alphabet from "a" for "air" to "z" for "Zzzzz". Possesses the same quiet reassurance that the classic has...and children who read it over and over will respond well to learning their abc's with this book.

This is a fun book to read. It uses all the pictures that are in the original Goodnight Moon book but uses the alaphbet to explain each object. This would be a fun book to read after reading the original Goodnight Moon book because it can be interactive and will get the children to think about all the things in the book that start with each letter of the alphabet.

Ever since my five-year-old son was a baby, we've been reading or reciting Goodnight Moon every night. It is part of his bedtime ritual. My son is also a big fan of alphabet books, so when he saw this book at the library, he had to check it out.
This book is a fine, if not overly-inspired, alphabet book. I can see it being useful for introducing very young listeners to the alphabet.

This book was very colorful and neat. It teaches kids the alphabet as well as objects that start with those letters. Some of the objects belong inside the home while others are from the outside. This book is good for a kid that is learning the alphabet. It is an easy book to read.

This is a good book to read to young children who are learning their ABC's. It will be helpful to have the student read the letters aloud to the teacher.

As far as alphabet books go, this isn't all that great. I really only like it because it goes along with "Goodnight Moon" and reinforces the letters in the story.

Goodnight Moon is a favorite in our house so we were excited to read Goodnight Moon ABC An Alphabet Book. It is a very simple ABC book with simple illustrations.
