I received this book as a gift when I was 11 years old. I'm now in my thirties, and I still go back to it from time to time. I have rarely seen a book with so many well developed and practical "experiments" in it. I mean, who DOESN'T want to make their own homemade Geiger counter?

great for age 9+ with help from adult
Ch. 3 has more complicated experiments (maybe for age 14+)
Ch. 7 deals with nuclear stuff (eek!)
uses easy to find items from hardware store
