The Discovery--A Lancaster County Saga Book 1 - Goodbye to Yesterday Book 2 - The Silence of Winter Book 3 - The Hope of Spring Book 4 - The Pieces of Summer Book 5 - A Revelation in Autumn Book 6 - A Vow for Always
New York Times bestselling and award-winning author, Wanda E. Brunstetter is one of the founders of the Amish fiction genre. She has written close to 90 books translated in four languages. With over 10 million copies sold, Wanda's stories consistently earn spots on the nations most prestigious bestseller lists and have received numerous awards.
Wanda’s ancestors were part of the Anabaptist faith, and her novels are based on personal research intended to accurately portray the Amish way of life. Her books are well-read and trusted by many Amish, who credit her for giving readers a deeper understanding of the people and their customs.
When Wanda visits her Amish friends, she finds herself drawn to their peaceful lifestyle, sincerity, and close family ties. Wanda enjoys photography, ventriloquism, gardening, bird-watching, beachcombing, and spending time with her family. She and her husband, Richard, have been blessed with two grown children, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
This is an Amish Fiction, and this is the 6st book in the Discovery series. This book was a very good end for the six book series. I am really glad I read this short book series. They where all very quick reads and well written. (*)
I slightly spoiled this book for myself by reading the description -- be sure to NOT do that. ;) I actually grew to like Jonah in this book and felt bad for him, but was glad for the way things ended. Luke got there JUST in time and I can't imagine how things would have turned out had he been a day later.
The Lancaster County Saga has left me with a book hangover... you know, that feeling you get when you finish a book, and it's difficult to move on and begin a new one because you are still living in the past book's world. Yeah, I have that.
A Vow For Always is the final installment in a six part series of the Lancaster County Saga, by Wanda E. Brunstetter. This book tied up all the loose ends nicely; Luke regains his memory, him and Meredith reunite, and Luke meets his son for the first time. (And boy did he ever figure out his identity within the nick of time, because Meredith was scheduled to marry Jonah only hours from when Luke showed up at her parent's door! Talk about some serious suspense!)
I highly recommend The Lancaster County Saga to anyone who is interested in a nice heartwarming read that will stick with you. This story will always have a special place in my heart.

In a Vow for Always, we wrapped up the intriguing life journeys of Meredith, Luke, Jonah, Susan and all their friends and family.
SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT Meredith and Jonah finally got the approval to start courting from everyone, including her ex-husbands parents. ( I'm glad they wanted to respect everyone's feelings, but I was like if you want to date each other , don't let anyone stop you! As long they were two constenting adults. ) But I do love how much concern they have for the people in their lives.
Now they're going to get married!
In the previous book and throughout the majority of this book, Luke stayed with Susan and Ann's Grandparents as he regained his memories. I was so happy for him as he started remember things from his old life, but it felt a little rushed. As did Susan's feelings for him her's for him. To be honest, this whole installment felt a little rushed. ( Yes, I do realize these are very short books, but the ending felt really rushed and little to convinent.)
As for the series as a whole, I quite enjoyed the Discovery books, but I did have some issues with them.
The Discovery series reaffirmed my love for Wanda Brunstetter's writing.

I absolutely loved this ending! Here, we finally see the end results of all the storylines and see what Meredith decides to do for her future. The ending was so sweet and just perfect for this series ❤️ This one is definitely my favorite out of the series! If you enjoy sweet Amish romance stories, then definitely check this series out!
This was an amazing series of love - lost love - and new love with many twists and turns along the way.
I love reading about the Amish life - these families seemed more “lax” in their Amish ways than most Amish books I have read in the past. I did like the way the Amish and Mennonite families spent time together - as well as the Englishers.
Finished this series of six Amish books. It was different to read each 100 plus page book, but they did keep me interested enough to read them all. A lot of drama and cliffhangers at the end of each one. Of course, A happy ending!
I felt badly for Jonah, considering how things ended, but was glad things were resolved. Meredith was a very likable character and I felt so many emotions along with her throughout this series. This book was a great ending to the series. If the books sound interesting to you, and you plan on reading them, I'd recommend going with The Discovery Saga Collection: A 6-Part Series from Lancaster County.
Meredith and Luke have come a long way in this 6 part journey. Luke started out to learn a new trade and was robbed and attacked and left for dead. He developed amnesia from the injuries to his head and meanwhile, his wife, Meredith, has given birth to their first born child back in Pennsylvania. A lovely young nurse takes Luke into her grandparents' home to recuperate until he remembers who he is.....IF he remembers who he is......and she ends up falling for him. Meanwhile, Jonah is an old friend of Meredith's who has returned to his parents' home in Pennsylvania and he has fallen in love with Meredith and adores baby Levi. Will Luke remember who he is and where he is from before Meredith marries Jonah??? or will he be too late? will he ever remember? he is certainly despaired over this and agonizes at trying to force his memories. I won't spoil the ending for readers, but I loved this saga. I first was unsure how I felt about reading short pieces of the story in separate books, but I found that the cliffhanger in each one made me hungry to read the next book. I fell in love with the characters and I think most readers will as well. I love the Lancaster Pennsylvania area and Wanda's descriptions made me feel like I was taking a little mini-vacation there each time I read one of the books. I hope that Wanda will write more stories in this fashion in the future as I truly enjoyed it and it was definitely different from the usual "novel" style. I received a free pdf copy of this book from netgalley and the publisher: Barbour Publishing in exchange for my honest review.
I have to say that I loved each and every book in this series and I found myself hating to see the series end. I wanted the storyline to continue, I just wasn't done hearing about their lives yet.
I love that Susan and her family took "Eddie" in and allowed him to be himself while he was trying to find his true identity after his accident at the bus station bathroom. I image it was hard for Susan to sit by and watch him learn his true identity while she had deep feelings for him. They really were great to him. I can't imagine a family being that way for someone that they didn't even know by allowing him to come into their home and giving him everything that they did.
Jonah and Meredith are planning their spring wedding and I loved the fact that Luke's parents finally came to terms with the fact that Jonah is good for Meredith and little Levi and was accepting him into their lives and is going to attend the wedding. I can imagine how hard that would be.
Luke little by little starts to remember his who he really is. Will he completely remember and when? I am not going to tell you. You thought I would didn't you? I won't ruin the book for you either way. He may or he may not.
I give this and every book in this series 5 stars.
This series has come to an end. In my first review I was very disappointed that the novel was being presented in mini installments month by month. But I must admit the storyline was so interesting and a true page turner, I quickly became hooked and forgot all about the publishing format. I was truly connected to the lives of Meredith and Luke. In the last three books Meredith finds that it is time for her to deliver her baby and come to the true realization that this precious baby will be brought into the world without Luke, without a father. But Meredith's family are truly committed to being there for her, ensuring that she is never alone. However, loneliness may not be longterm, as an old friend has moved back to town and may continue to have feelings for a woman that he once cared for and is now husbandless. Something miraculous happens to Luke, that adds another level of mystery to the story. Nurse Susan is falling in love with her John Doe, now known as Eddie. Are the feelings mutual? Time will tell. Wanda E. Brunstetter adds suspense and love all wrapped up in a gentle story of Amish fiction. The only regret that I have with this series is that I would love to read more. Visit Wanda E. Brunstetter's website for amazing book trailers for the entire series. They are wonderful!!!
I absolutely loved this whole series, it was amazing. All the stories touched my heart and made me go through many tissues. I definitely recommend this to all and there's many lessons to be learnt within these books so there's something for everyone. If you want to know more please go to my page and read my review of the first book.
Great conclusion to the series!! Each part of this series left you anxious to read the next! Wanda Brunstetter is a great author!! I really like the fact that she uses the Holy Bible, King James Version!!! Looking forward to reading more of her books!!
This is the last book in this series and i sooo loved it, It kept me on the edge of my seat through a series of events that were emotional and quite moving. I am so happy with the end of the book.. Love overcomes all things. It is such a strong force. I truly enjoyed this series.
And so I finally come to the end of this 6 novella serial story. Throughout the book, the readers have known both sides of the story and been in the odd position of knowing things characters in the story don't. For me, that made it frustrating at times.
The cover combined with the title is a bit misleading, but I guess the publishers didn't want to give away the ending.
I liked that the characters considered marriage as a serious thing and didn't enter into it lightly.

I felt sorry for Jonah with how things turned out. I can't fault him for his actions--he didn't know Luke was still alive (even though we readers did). His intentions toward Meredith were honorable and I do think he loved her--probably more than she loved him. Because I do think Meredith's mom was right to be concerned that Meredith was marrying Jonah not because she truly loved him but for financial security and for her son to have a father.
Likewise, I can't really fault Susan for falling in love (or at least being infatuated) or Eddie/Luke for having feelings toward Susan. At the time, neither knew he was already married (though, again, we as readers did).
I did like the Bailey family. They seem warm and loving and to really care about each other and others. I was glad that Luke's mother seemed to get over her insistence that Meredith couldn't get remarried--though in the end, that wouldn't have been such a big issue. I think her real worries were about being able to still be part of her grandson's life. It would have been better if she'd just voiced them instead of acting the way she did, but it does provide a life-lesson that others might see.
Grandma Smucker had reminded Meredith Stoltzfus many times that life didn't stop just because a person died. As she struggles with being a widow and mother of baby Levi, Meredith remembers this and realizes that perhaps she will have to let go of her life with Luke and seek a future with Jonah Miller, the Amish neighbor who has expressed interest. She also realizes that even though her father-in-law seems accepting, her mother-in-law Sadie isn't ready for their son to be replaced by another man! Meredith needs help financially and emotionally but she doesn't want to to alienate Elam and Sadie. She wants her son to know his grandparents so what should she do? What would be best for her son --- and for her?
Meanwhile, near Philadelphia, there is a young man suffering from amnesia who suddenly remembers that his name isn't Eddie; he doesn't know his last name and he doesn't recall anything else from his past but he does know that his first name is Luke.
A Vow for Always is the conclusion of The Discovery--A Lancaster County Saga series and even though it offers a satisfying conclusion, it doesn't promise a happy ending for everyone concerned. Wanda E. Brunstetter shows once again her ability to weave a story that is entertaining, realistic, and inspirational. Fans of Amish fiction will find A Vow for Always an enjoyable book and a satisfying series!
The last book of this short story series. I was sad that it was the end but almost everything has to end at some point. It keeps right back up where it left off at Joshua courting Mary and the suspense with difficulty of the past situation with her late husband but yet he still lives and yet she moves on and at the very end there seems to be a happy ending for Joshua but turns out Like makes it back to his wife before Joshua's wedding to Mary takes place and here and behold Luke was the guy that saved Joshua's life in the beginning of the series so in all in all there were lots of happy endings to behold!!!!
I can't wait to read more from this author. This series has been my first ever Amish romance that I read didn't know if I would like it but if u like the TV series breaking Amish and returning to Amish then u will love this series!
"Guess it's good that we don't know what the future holds."said Meredith."If we did, it might be too hard to bear." She moaned. "When I fell in love with Luke, never in a million years did I think I'd lose him the way I did". Dorine said,"That's why it's best to take one day at a time, asking God to give us the strength and courage to deal with things as they come." Meredith nodded slowly. She knew her friend's words were true, but living them out was a tall order sometimes. How true, those words that Meredith and Dorine stated ring true for many of us. I've come to the conclusion of the this series, and I really enjoyed reading it. I admire the way the Amish in these series dealt with and solved life's ups and downs.
This one review will cover all 6 short books in the Discovery Saga series. Although the novels (novellas? Stories? Installments of a single novel?) were engaging enough to finish in their entirety, I found the writing simplistic and immature. As a result, character development suffered, and the plot was woefully predictable. The end of the last book, though happy for most of the characters, was implausible and unsatisfying.
I’m no expert on Amish life and faith, but I found myself questioning the accuracy of many details. The author is not Amish herself, but she has made a career of writing fiction based on Amish life because her husband knows some Amish people. I don’t think I’ll be reading more of her work.
This book spoke to the heart of what could happen if a love one is missing and possibly dead. It was more heartbreaking when Meredith has gone through believing that her husband had been killed and their child to be would never know its father. Luke had loss his memory of everything and including why he was away from home (you will have to read the book for the answer and his name) This book touched on many things from parents who believed their son was dead to feeling a various of thoughts as his wife possibly turning toward a new life. I had read this one first but in the series had no problem enjoying the others and getting a more expanded background on this couple.
This was a nice ending to the series! It seemed a little rushed in places but all of them were refreshing and what I needed to read right now.
I am glad that Luke remembered everything and finally made it home. Part of me thought he would show up after Meredith and Jonah had been married. That would’ve been an interesting twist but we know that books like these are always going to have a happy ending.
If you’re looking for a quick read that is different than what you normally gravitate to then I suggest these. I also suggest having all six before starting them. You will whiz through the first two or three in no time and will want to continue.
