What more can I say about Keri Ford and her fantastic writing that hasn’t already been said? Once again Keri has pulled me head first back into the world she has spun over several books and made me care. Made me feel like a resident of Apple Trail and a friend to the residents. Made me want a man and want to befriend a woman. Keri Ford has an incredible talent and I urge contemporary romance lovers to give her work a try, come on the journey with everyone who has already picked up her books and ...more

4.5 Stars

I’ve been waiting what seemed like forever for the latest book in Keri Ford’s Roughnecks series to come out. I sound like a whiney little kid, don’t I? I just can’t help it when it’s a book by an author whose work I enjoy and its part of a series, it always seems like its years rather than months before the next release. While it’s been tough, I can honestly say it was worth the wait because Rough Play is an absolutely wonderful story.

Jacob Iverson is in the small town of Apple Trail, Arkansas to help his brothers with rebuilding a house. It is here that he meets the gorgeous Flora. When he first realizes this pretty lady is a plumber, he is taken back. But Flora halts his sexist thinking right then and there. Yes she is a plumber and proud of it. She also works part time at the local diner. Having a very hard childhood, she has been on her own for many years. She likes it this way, never wanting to get too attached to anyone ...more

Jacob & Flora's story

Jacob is the middle triplet. He's moved to town to help his youngest brother, Grant, renovate the home they inherited when their mother passed away a few years back. Meanwhile, he's living in Gretchen's trailer park.

Flora is best friends with Gretchen from book 1 & Tonya (Diner owner). She is a self-taught & certified plumber. She handles Gretchen's trailer park & was hired by Grant to update the manor.

I read the first book and couldn’t wait for this one. I wasn’t disappointed. Hot as hell sex, a stubborn and sassy heroine and one steamy hot male. Yummilicious! Flora is fighting abandonment issues, stemming from her childhood. Jacob is a commitment-phobe. Jacob overcomes his problems to realize that Flora might never overcome hers. I love the conflict and extreme sexual tension with these two. They burn the sheets up! I can’t wait to read the next story. I want to see how Tonya and Trent get t ...more

It had been a while since I read the first book and it took me about 20 pages to realize this book is happening simultaneously with the other book. I really liked that. I loved Flora and Jacob. They were funny, playful, serious, a little misguided. Another great story by Keri Ford. She is becoming a favorite author and Apple Trail is becoming a place I wish I lived.

Good read. Keri Ford's writing is so refreshing..... just when you think you have read something hot, serious or meaningful you burst out laughing!! These brothers are mighty hot! I liked Flora, but my goodness she was hard-headed!!

Keri Ford brings sexy contemporary romance to the American South. With a sprinkling of men in suits and women in high heels, you’ll most likely find four-wheeler riding, ball cap wearing fellas trying to sweet-talk sundress wearing ladies in Keri’s books. Raised in the country in South Arkansas, Keri shares this flavor of life in her books. Glass of sweet tea at your elbow while you read is not re ...more
