This book is OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive ($12.85–Grrrrr Penguin Publishing) for a book that was released two years ago. Still, I loved everything about it, especially Chloe and Brendan's wedding scene, which was one of my favoirte parts of the story. I LOVE when authors give their readers a glimpse into the future lives of beloved characters from one of their other series.

Unholy fangs and other bluidy guid thangs! This MM/MFM/MMF/MF is the ninth book in the Vampire Queen series, and the 22nd book I've read by this author. While I've never rated a JH book less than 5 stars, it's easy for me to say this is THE BEST book I've read by her.

More than any other Vampire Queen book, this one dissects the rules and servitude of this vampire world while taking huge breaths to inspire with the most unorthodox and compelling love story in this series. It convinces through the

This tells the story of Alanna, Evan & Niall & it's fantastic. Period.

Alanna we were introduced to in Vampire Trinity, this picks up a few weeks after she has "betrayed" Lord Stephen. A-hole. He's on the run but still makes time to plunge her into waking nightmares that are slowing driving her insane yet the Vampire Council has decided not to kill her because she is the only link to Stephen but Lord Brian eventually finds a blocking agent. Along the way, someone thought to bring in Evan

4 Vamp'y Stars!

I love Joey Hills (and JR Ward's ) Vampire book. Because her vamps ARE the best vamps I've ever read. And,

Yes, A Vampires Gotta Die...

In this book.

What I loved~

Joey Hill Intertwined Her MCs from her other Books!

I Love the way Joey Hill intertwined her MCs in ALL her books into one.

In this one I got...

Thomas and Marcus from Rough Canvas !!!
Deagon and Gideon
Lyssa and Jacob
Uthe and Keldwyn ( fingers crossed for them in the next book)
Evan and Niall, Alpha and Omega per se...
Smutty book is sufficiently smutty. Yeah, that's my entire review. LOL

10 Stars, if I could give this book 10 stars I would.
Note: My review of taken by a Vampire containers no major spoilers as promised to Ms. Hill.
Taken by a Vampire by Joey W. Hill is the 9th book in the Vampire Queen series. It is the journey of Alanna, a vampire servant trained almost since birth to serve a vampire and her new Master Evan and his servant Niall. Alanna’s rigid and controlled upbringing as an InhServ doesn’t prepare her for service with

I think this book has usurped "Beloved Vampire" and "Vampire Trinity" for me, as the most powerful book in the VQ series; at least emotionally.

This story, via wonderful characters of Niall, Evan and Alana, is about coming to terms with who you are and who you are not, what is important and what is not, in the face of all of life's truths including the final truth.

Despite being certain where Ms. Hill was leading me throughout this story and being reluctant to go

Alpha males plus submissive females in a menage will always catch my attention. When it's vampires and lowly humans written by Ms. Hill, I'm in! This is a 3.5 star paranormal romance. Alanna is a human raised to be a specific kind of vampire servant. The training is so close to formal protocol in a D/s and SM relationship. This is no surprise as it is Ms. Hill's delicious vampire erotica.

I like when an author uses BDSM themes and doesn't spell it out for a reader. Those who are into kinky books

At a Charity Auction in April for the National Autistic Society, I won the bid my choice of any book from Joey W Hill. I chose Taken by a Vampire Ms. Hill sent a copy by email prior to the May 7 release date as well as a signed copy of the book. It was an amazing story of two men taking in a girl whose emotions, and everything that she believed she was now questioning. Where duty was her purpose for living and where love had no practical place in her life. The story tells how Alanna fines that ...more

Alanna is an InhServ, a vampire servant who was chosen from birth to be trained as such. An InhServ is the highest form of servant and they’re normally given to vampires who are on the political power path for the Vampire Council. Her Master, Stephen, was a real ass, to put it frankly. He served on the Council but was very deceitful and Alanna went against all her training and instincts to turn against her Master and turn him in to the

My least favorite of the series for two reasons. The imagery that I've come to love from Joey W. Hill was missing and of course my hated thing in the book... the annoying , has to be fawned over , needy woman . The only thing that kept me going was me Niall and Evan. There are other ways to show a woman may be in need of love beside the ever constant in a book won't eat, can't make choices, needs constant reassurance woman. Boring.

Another excellent example of why I can't get enough of Joey W. Hill!

Joey's Vampire Queen series is my all time favorite series and this book did not disappoint! Alanna, Evan, and Niall are absolutely amazing together, the banter, conflict, and heat in this book kept me turning the pages! I didn't want this story to end. If you haven't read any books in this series that's okay, Joey has a way of seamlessly filling in details so you won't be lost. If you have read this series you won't be

I read anywhere between 400-500 books a year and though my thoughts and opinions vary for each one there are only a handful that make a true impression in my heart that I’ll never forget. This is one of them.

Joey Hill is a Master storyteller. This author’s ability to transport the reader into her written world is a rare gift that keeps me on a constant mission to discover in other author’s.

There have been times when a book has captured my heart and turned me into an emotional mess. One of

I've stated this before - Hill is the best at writing characters. They are so diverse and beautifully presented. On the surface, you have dominant vampires and their human servants. But it's much more complex than that. Each vampire and each human has his or her own desires and struggles. Each coupling (or tripling) is singular, seductive, and moving. I loved these characters. This book in the series was probably the most emotional for me. It truly is about finding and accepting love. And Hill ...more

Wow...just when I think I have a favorite...another story comes along and changes everything.
Alanna, Evan and Niall's story is a grab ahold and get ready for one hell of a ride. I tried to read it slow but that wasn't possible.
Alanna has such deep, ingrained training that Evan and Niall can't seem to penetrate the things she was trained to believe in.
This was a world building at it's greatest.
The sensuality was off the charts.
No one writes erotica like Ms. Hill...
I love, love, love this book.
Wow, a story that made me cry and laugh and root for the main characters the whole time. I will not forget this story :) Great worldbuilding, characterbuilding, I have a weak spot for Niall, and I really believed this threesome, everyone was important. I hope there will be more stories in this series.

This is by far....without a doubt...THE book that I am most excited to read in 2013!!! Joey W Hill's Vampire Queen Series is THE BEST paranormal series out right now and this book is going to be sooooo gooood!!!

There was no table clearing :(

Must to come

ok, ok, there was NO table clearing or vampire dinners that we've come to expect from Joey Hill BUT what we did get was a heartfelt story complete with the damsel in distress and the knights in shining armor.

The story revolves around Evan (a made vampire), Niall (Evan's vampire servant of 300 years) and Alanna (a 3rd marked Inhserve to a powerful vampire and who has a whole dramatic list of issues).

First off, I'll talk about

From the moment she was born Alanna was to become an Inherited Servant. An honorable destiny and one she excelled at. Until the day she betrayed her vow by turning her Master, made vampire Councilman Stephen, into the Council as a traitor (Vampire Trinity - Vampire Queen, #6). Now the council wants to use her to find her Master and hope they can do it before he destroys her mind body and soul. To that end they send her on the road with made vampire Evan and his servant Niall. Being a servant to ...more

I quite like Joey W. Hill's writing so I read this book - I don't love BDSM etc though, so in this case it balanced out. (Usually the writing well outweighs what I'm not really into, but in this case ... I felt like it was a bit much. Not sure if it was the book or my mood - though the book is quite long.)

Alanna is an interesting character - literally trained to be a sub all her life - and naturally being one too. What is also at issue is that she has "no" personality - it's been trained out of
Alana is a third marked vampire servant to Lord Stephan, raised from birth to serve. She reveals his betrayal of the council and suffers from his ability to access her mind trying to drive her to suicide. She is treated with a chemical blocker and put in the care of Evan, a Jewish vampire and Niall, his Scot third marked servant. Their unusual relationship is the perfect answer for Alana's discovery of herself and the three become tied together in every way. Great character development and ...more

Joey has done it again...
This story was heart warming, erotic to nth degree, and packed with characters that are as real and fleshed out as any I've ever read.
This book had me so turned inside out that I had to stop myself more than once from skipping ahead and reading the last chapter so I could reassure myself that what I was afraid was going to happen doesn't. The suspense was killing me and...I admit it...I was sniffling and cried a little when I got to the part of the book where I was SURE

As all Books in the Vampire series, Joey W Hill just keeps bring out the stops, and Taken By a Vampire lived up to expectations.
Ms Hill heightens the suspense and digging deep into her character's souls until we cry, laugh and love with them.

This book was great even when it had me worried and almost in tears because it makes you feel. This book hits all the big emotions happiness, passion, sadness, jealousy, anxiety, and even confusion. While it wasn't always blatant the confusion and introspection these characters felt was so relatable and felt so real like you were seeing someone's actual discovery of themselves or where there place is in life or a relationship in a variety of ways. This author does a brilliant job of not

"Set me as a seal upon thy heart ... for love is as strong as death; jealousy is as cruel as the grave: the coals of it are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame."

This book was my most anticipated release of 2013 and it lived up to ALL of my expectations. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that is my favorite of all the Joey W. Hill books and my most savored book of 2013. By most savored, I mean, I took my time, I enjoyed, I had some one-handed book holding times (repeatedly). I re-read

This is MUCH better than my rating. But a rating is personal, what's a 5 to me may be a 1 to you. It's beautifully written. It's engaging. It's very sexy. But.... I skimmed. Just not my kryptonite, I guess. One thing I do want to note, the menage is very well done. Not a lot of writers can pull it off without someone feeling like a third wheel, and it's usually the female. But not here, you can feel the care they have for one another. Tymber Dalton can do that, too. So I might try another
