What a surprise this book was! Not your typical Harlequin fare.
Claire is a nerdy woman just shy of 30, who has given up on love and passion. But her best friend, Julia, who is her opposite, has dragged her to New Orleans for Mardi Gras... and then disappeared. The last place Julia knew her to be was a vampire theme bar called "Once Bitten", run by the sexy Rafe, aka king of the one night stands.
To be honest I wasn't sure if this was a paranormal book or not. Just to be clear, it isn't. But tha

Thanks to the publisher, Harlequin, and NetGalley for the chance to read this early!

Harlequin Blaze has been putting out some hot stories lately, and this is no exception. This is the first book by this author I've read ~ I plan to check out her backlist; and I except to be adding additional books to my TBR list. Pick this is a quick, fulfilling read.

Dear Ms. Burns:

I enjoyed your Harlequin Blaze release Relentless Seduction. It's got just the right blend of humor, sex, mystery, and faux vampires. I picked it up and didn't put it down until I gotten to the last page.

Claire Brooks has coke-bottle glasses, frizzy brown hair, no sense of style, a PhD in microbiology, and a best friend who's gone missing in New Orleans during Mardi Gras. Claire and her friend, Julia, have been best

Relentless Seduction was 3 stars likeable novel. First I have to say I love the cover as it is sexy and would draw any ones attention.

I adore Rafe’s alpha male attitude with his yummy piercing. He is content with running his bar and every now and then having a one night affair with a tourist. His life is turn upside down the minute Claire walks in looking for her missing friend and eventually black mails him in helping her find her friend. She gets under his skin and he does not know

I bought this one from Kobo.

I picked this up because Dear Author gave it a B, and it had been a while since I read a Harlequin Blaze. My recollection is that they are great for a quick snack of a read. This one rubbed me all kinds of wrong ways:
- The cliche of the frizzy-haired nerd girl with thick glasses and a rockin' body underneath her ugly clothes? Check.(This one really pisses me off. Too close to home? Possibly.)
- The good ol Nawlins accent? Check.
- The ex-girlfri

Hot, steamy and sexy this indulgent read will have your pulse racing…

A ‘Harlequin Blaze’ novel that is a quick, fast-paced read with an exciting Vampire twist! A truly fulfilling, satisfying read by an author whom I have not encountered before and who I shall be looking out for (in regards to her other works). ‘Relentless Seduction’ epitomizes everything you would wish to find in current contemporary romance/ erotic fiction. This likeable, highly readable novel is a tempting treat and which instantl‘Harlequin

Most of the Blaze books I've enjoyed have been fairly light, spicy reads. While still fun, Relentless Seduction hits a slightly darker tone and the vampire bar and vampire subculture that play important roles in the plot make this book stand out from others I've read. I can honestly say I've never read anything quite like it and since I mostly enjoyed both the plot and the characters, I'm glad I gave it a whirl. Or perhaps I should say that I'm glad I gave it a whirl in spite of its dreadful title, which ...more

Mardi Gras in New Orleans….Anything goes….at least until someone goes missing. Claire is the good-girl. The microbiologist who always does what she’s supposed to do, brainiac, dedicated to her work……boring. Julia is her wild-child best friend who goes missing in the French Quarter. Her last known location…..a bar called Once Bitten.

Rafe owns and runs Once Bitten. He caters to those who are the edge of society. The vampire wannabes. When Claire comes in asking about her friend, he steps in to help her, ag

Claire Brookes and her best friend Julia are in New Orleans for Mardi Gras. While out one night, Julia meets a guy and then disappears on her. Claire only has a picture that places her at a bar called Once Bitten as a clue to where she might be. Heading there to start her search, she quickly finds out how much she stands out.

Claire stands out with her frizzy hair, outdated clothing and her occasional stutter, and bar owner, Rafe Moreau is instantly intrigued. His typical hookups are college coed's looking

Relentless Seduction starts out with the disappearance of Julie, Claire Brooks' best friend in New Orleans. Claire set off to search for Julie and the last place that Julie has been was at Once Bitten Bar.

From the moment the bar owner Rafe Moureau set eyes on Claire, he knew she was trouble. His impression of her was that she was not part of the normal patrons that frequent his bar and she didn't belong in his bar.

Claire was relentless in trying to find her friend. Reluctantly, Rafe

Relentless Seduction by Jillian Burns left me speechless. Wow! simply wow!
Rafe and Claire were two of the most stubborn people I have ever read about. Both of them loved the other but they were too afraid to speak up and admit it. While these two are put to the test in this book with a cult who believes they are vampires and being trapped in a small and confined space, It was hard to imagine that their love could outweigh the bad things that just kept popping up around them. This is exac

Jillian Burns was a joy to meet and very nice lady. This is another author I've never read before but so glad I found. Claire is not the kind of woman you get used to reading about in romance books, she is shy and nerdy dressed in baggy clothes but under is a beauty that Rafe has no problem seeing. Rafe tries his best not to be pulled into Clarie's trouble but he can't help but be her knight coming to her rescue. Claire just wants to find her friend and won't stop until she does. Rafe is street ...more

Not what I expected but perfect in its own way.

I am a vampire enthusiast, give me a good Anne Rice, Kerrelyn Sparks, or Molly Harper any day. When you run across a New Orleans bar called Once Bitten "a haven for the dark, melancholy and vampire-obsessed" any vamp fan would melt. And you would be wrong. *spoiler* Not a single creature is remotely immortal.

That being said.... WOW. Can I say steamy. The back and forth between the main characters just hit me. A naive and determined youn

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, from the super sexy cover to the memorable characters. Their story takes place in New Orleans, and the author's thorough research brings the French Quarter and the Big Easy compellingly alive. The luscious, alpha male Rafe is the earthy owner/bartender of a "vampire" bar, and he is almost an opposite personality to the delectable but naive Claire. She is a microbiologist from Boston and, above all, a lady. The interaction and irresistible chemistry between these t ...more

Relentless Seduction is the second book I've received from Jillian Burns through the Goodreads Giveaway program. It was wonderfully enthralling.

The disappearance surrounding Claire's friend Amy during Mardi Gras in New Orleans led Claire to Rafe and a side of the city I'd never seen before... Or even imagined was there!

Graveyards, con men, cults, crypts and vampire worshippers... all without being a paranormal romance, made for an exciting tale. One I read in a single sitting!

I think Dabney on Dear Author recommended this. I now remember why I gave up on Blaze. Too short, first of all. And I didn't really get a sense of the romance. It felt like they could have been any two people. There was no compulsion in their relationship. Also, a category length novel has no time for a light suspense subplot. This is the second book I've read recently with the damaged best friend. I just don't see what it had to do with our heroine other than as a tool for throwing the main cha ...more

This was exactly the kind of light-read, happy ending, not to mention hot, story I needed after Hopeless. The story was simple enough, but had a good pace and nice twists with the somewhat expected output. *sort of spoiler* Even the ugly ducking turned hot girl was played beautifully within the story without overdoing it. Loved the MCs and the gothic theme was kind of refreshing (odd, I know). Good Saturday afternoon book.

Claire is a serious, undersexed New Orleans tourist. Rafe is an orphaned, formerly homeless local bar owner. They discover each other while looking for Claire's missing friend. Great story with wonderful HEA. Thank goodness for the epilogue.

Really, more like 1.5 stars. It was competently written, but too superficial. I never really got why they were attracted to each other beyond that I was told they were.
