Contemporary romance set in Washington. Annie and Alex work through their disagreements while caring for Alex's grandmother.

My gratitude to the author for a complimentary copy of this novel.

Annie Romano returns to Fairhaven, Washington, to raise her 5-year-old daughter. She’s starting a business as a personal chef, but it’s taking time and effort to build a clientele and she finds she needs another job to make ends meet for Emma. Back in high school she worked part time at Jameson’s Bakery, so she stops in there to see the owner, her elderly friend, Irene, and ask for a job. It’s clear Irene can’t afford another employee, though, and before the conversation gets going too far, ...more

Snowflake Sweethearts takes place in a charming town of Fairhaven, Washington, where Annie Romano previously had a teenage crush on handsome Alex Jameson. Although Annie had moved away and unexpectedly became a single mother, she returns to Fairfaven with her five year old daughter, Emma, in hope to start a new life as a personal chef.

Upon visiting Alex's grandmother, Irene, at the family bakery, there was a swift turn of events. No sooner had Annie been joyfully chatting with Irene when

When hurtful memories influence current decisions, life can be tough for the main characters in this book. This is a very sweet story of learning to trust again, having devotion to family and friends and finding love. The author has characters of different ages in the story and I enjoy reading about people from various seasons of life. From young to not so young, these are people I want to read about again and again. Great read. I received a complimentary copy of the book. No review was ...more

Snowflake Sweethearts is a nice Christmas story, very well written. I really enjoyed reading Annie & Alex's story. I enjoyed how both cared for Alex's grandma, Irene. And it was sweet how Alex fell in love with Emma, Annie's daughter, & she with him. Both Annie & Alex had some pain from their past to work through. I feel like the pain, & the process to work through them, was presented in a very real way. I'm not a fan of books where the characters fight & have ...more

A sweet romance of second chances

My rating is 4.5 stars

Given the opportunity to review this book by Carrie Turansky, I couldn't pass it up, despite a full blog calendar!

Snowflake Sweethearts is a sweet romance of second chances.

Brought together when Alex's grandmother Irene experienced a heart attack, Alex and Annie struggled to trust each other. Abandonment issues from their past threatened to keep them apart.

I loved Annie's faith, which she returned to after making some mistakes while in

Going home should mean refuge, but for Annie Romano, it is a reminder of all that she loved and lost—or perhaps never really possessed. Mistakes firmly behind her, Annie returns to Fair Haven, Washington, determined to begin a new life as a personal chef.

But everything changes when an old heartthrob’s grandmother finds herself in desperate need of a caregiver. Annie agrees to help Irene, but vows not to let her heart become entangled again with Alex, Irene’s handsome big-city bachelor grandson.

Snowflake Sweethearts is a heartwarming, down to earth story about a single mother who returns to her hometown after a seven year absence. Down on her luck, Annie is desperate to find a job and settle down with her daughter Emma. She reconnects with her high school crush, Alex Jameson, a man who is quite cynical about love. Can the spirit of the season bring these two together? This is a great love story. I really enjoyed the holiday aspects and the idyllic town of Fairhaven.

I loved this book - it was a great book to read over the holidays! I love Carrie's books - they are always uplifting and wonderful stories! I really enjoyed the characters in Snowflake Sweethearts - their histories, the way they interacted together, the different things they were dealing with. Learning to trust the Lord and others was a big theme throughout the book. If you're looking for an enjoyable and inspiring story, be sure to pick this book up!!

A sweet romance about forgiveness and new beginnings. One of my favorite authors that bring spiritual truths throughout the story. A good read with life help! A story of Alex and Annie, making mistakes or hurts from the past they learn to trust again.

Beautiful story of love conquering fears

Carrie Turansky has a way to tell a story that grips your attention and holds on for the duration. This sweet story takes you through heartache and broken promises to a satisfying finale that includes a rescue. Wonderful story!
Annie Romano brings her young daughter home to Fairhaven, Washington, hoping to find a part-time job at a local bakery, but instead finds herself acting as live-in caregiver to her high school crush’s grandmother (the bakery owner). Alex offers to help stay and settle his grandmother, but he’s a workaholic and must eventually return to San Francisco and continuing hammering out business deals.

Snowflake Sweethearts by Carrie Turansky
Bayside Treasures Series Book 3
Annie Romano has made a few errors in judgment during her young life. She regrets never telling an old friend what he meant to her before he left for college. Annie also regrets bad choices in her own college days, although she doesn't regret Emma, her daughter. After seven years of being gone she has now returned to her hometown, Fairhaven, Washington. God blesses her with an unexpected job and a home to live in when her

Snowflake Sweethearts was the first of Carrie Turansky’s books I’ve read and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Annie Romano, the heroine, has a little girl to provide for so she returns to her hometown to start over where it’s safe. She puts her plans and her life on hold to help care for an older woman and that’s where the adventure begins. Sometimes it’s the bumps in the road that steer us toward the right path and give us a chance to examine our hearts and motives. That’s exactly what happens to Annie ...more

Snowflake Sweethearts is perfect for getting you in the holiday spirit. Annie and her daughter, Emma, begin a fresh start in the historic town of Fairhaven, Washington. Annie is acquiring clients as a personal chef when she runs into Alex, the man she has loved since childhood. Plans, after all, rarely happen. A course correction lands Annie exactly opposite of her expectations.

I appreciated Carrie Turansky dealing with the fears that drive both Annie and Alex. Their journey, like ours, gives

Didn't finish. It started out as a sweet romance but mid-way deteriorated into too much non-denominational feel-good fluff.

I really wish publishers would look at the demographics and realize that there are easily 100 million in this country alone who are either mainstream protestant or catholic. We sorely need inspirational romances that contain descriptions of real liturgy, prayers Christians have actually prayed since the beginning of Christianity, sacraments, creeds, Saints, pilgrimages,

I'm not sure what it is with 'Love Inspired' authors writing grandmotherly characters that are sweet and spunky and wise, but keep it up! Irene was almost my favourite character in this sweet little book.
I liked how Annie and Alex were friends first before noticing a spark that grew into love. I didn't like how they were both so afraid of being left behind that they didn't talk to each other about those feelings, but thankfully they got it together eventually.
