I haven't read a romantic suspense book in a long time. The author is one I haven't read before, but I was aware of her from an interview on a podcast I listen to and she seemed really interesting. I saw the book while browsing OverDrive and decided to give it a shot. I am so glad I did.

Aaron Bain is the hottest hero I have read in quite sometime. He has a healthy amount of brains to go along with his brawn, which a nice change of pace from the usual alpha-holes that dominated the subgenre. Risa

Switched by HelenKay Dimon was a gripping, fast paced romantic suspense novel with one challenge after another for hero Aaron and heroine Risa. Who knew an innocent little office Christmas party would turn into such an explosive disaster full of betrayal and evil? It was amazing how Dimon was able to pull the good in people out of this story and by the end of the book, I felt a lot of hope and love.

Aaron is a security expert for a company that is hosting it’s office Christmas party. Risa is not

Very good book. I really liked both Aaron and Risa. Aaron had started dating Risa after seeing her in a coffee shop. Because of a previous relationship that failed because of his job, he told Risa he was a tax attorney instead of a security company owner. When she appeared at an office Christmas party he was working and was attacked he had to blow his cover and help her. I really enjoyed seeing him try to keep Risa safe as she tried to be a part of what was happening. It was obvious how much he ...more

**As a side note, HelenKay Dimon is a personal friend so take this review how you want to**

I absolutely loved this book! Ms. Dimon knows how to write a romantic suspense but the format of an Intrigue sometimes can make a story push ideas or a romance too quick. I thought that this story pulled out a thoroughly believed love story and heart racing plot. Aaron was a sexy security man who made a connection with Risa but his job pulled him away. Risa’s been dealt a lot of low blows recently and she

This was an action packed story, with a sweet touch of romance. Risa hit it off with Aarom in a coffee shop. When you first met someone you believe what they say. Risa found out Aaron had a secret life. When she first met him, He left out the part of his life that he worked as security. Risa was visiting a venue so she could book her office Christmas party. It was Aaron that was there to save her when she was almost taking as a hostage. The action does not slow down. Risa was just ended a bad re ...more

Met Helen Kay Dimon at RT Convention this year. Had never read any of her books but got a copy of Switched. Loved it. Action was tight, characters well developed and a fast read.

Risa Peters is scouting a place for an office Christmas party when she is taken hostage. Who should come to her rescue but a man she had had a couple of dates with, Aaron McBain. However, Aaron had told her he was a tax attorney instead of a security consultant. Needless to say, there is a trust issue on Risa's side whi

In Dimon’s romantic suspense novel, security expert Aaron McBain has just taken on the task of protecting his client at an office Christmas party. But when unexpected commandoes storm the place, they take Risa Peters hostage, a woman Aaron had just begun dating. As threats against her escalate, Risa and Aaron find themselves trapped in a building in the middle of a conspiracy and the only thing standing between them and a bullet is each other.

I read this and When She Wasn't Looking today. They're not bad. I liked this one better; there was a little more gender essentialism in the other.

Whether it's the length (they're both relatively short) or the style, they don't totally work for me, but the writing was engaging, and I could imagine other readers enjoying them more.

I'd rate them both three stars for quality but two for my taste, so I'm not going to officially star them.

I had almost forgotten how much I enjoy a straightforward romantic suspense. I liked the strong heroine and the hero willing to let her be strong. The black moment seemed a bit tacked on, but overall an enjoyable read.

A PG mills and boon book. Enjoyable but I'm not into these kind of books. Good read - fast moving and likeable character but annoying villians. I did like aaron and risa. I could quite easily read a sequel if one was to be released.

This was a good read for what it was. Nothing too deep but a good beach read. I do like how Harlequin Intrigue is actually romance/suspense and focus's more on the plot or storyline with some romance tossed in as a side dish.
