Murderers Sky begins innocuously enough- a priest summoned to a mother’s home, the local sheriff giving him a ride- but all is not as it seems. Overhead the sky is sickly and ominous and there are rumours of a terrible massacre out in the desert.

Shelves: dystopia, horror
Having loved the author's first book, "Complete Tales of da Yoopernatural," (I still remember certain scenes vividly) I was eager to acquire this one and get started. It only took about two pages to be completely hooked. I started while on vacation and read the entire time and far into the night, leaving others to do the driving. I so wanted to like this. The premise grabbed me and I really liked the folksy way it started. But the book really needs an editor's touch. The spelling errors and stiff dialog made the reading laborious. The scene with the religious fanatics group pushed the suspension of disbelief further than it would tolerate being pushed. I made it half-way and did not want to go any further, so I decided it would be best to set it aside. I may return later to make another attempt at finishing.

PD Allen has given the reader a world filled with fear and horror, but hope is in the making.

PD Allen has seen the publishing industry from many angles, as an editor, proofreader, typesetter and a sales clerk in a book store. But first and foremost, he is a novelist. With the publishing industry in turmoil due to the rising popularity of ebooks, he has chosen to throw his hat in the ring as an indie author.

PD has led a dynamic and adventurous life. He bicycled the Rocky Mountains, travele
