Initial Thoughts:

I wasn’t a huge fan of this series after reading the first book Jeremy Chikalto and the Hazy Souls but after reading this second installment of the Hazy Souls series I’m officially a fan. More specifically, I’m a fan of the main character Jeremy. I got a much better sense of who Jeremy is and what role he plays in this novel. I loved Jeremy Chikalto and Leviathan Island! It was a very fast read and I finished it in two days. Jeremy is nuts in this book, and I loved that about him! (Um... the acid trip chapter? Yeah.) I enjoyed watching all of the relationships unfold, and I loved the fight with the dragon and of course all of the weirdness that is Mantel's Maze. This book is a wonderful second installment in the Hazy Souls series! As a busy mom, I don't have much time to read, but this book is such a page-turner with short chapters that make you keep telling yourself "just one more!", which allowed me to finish this book rather quickly. I loved traveling to this far-off land with Jeremy and company, and found the plot and setting to be delightfully imaginative and original. I look forward to the resolution of several cliff-hangers in part 3.
