For four years Barack Obama has waged an unparalleled attack—largely undocumented by the mainstream media—on religious liberty in the United States. Never before has an administration been more convinced that there is no higher power than itself: one nation under Obama. In this stunning new book, veteran conservative lawyer, activist, and commentator Phyllis Schlafly and reporter George Neumayr reveal the greatest assault on American liberty in our time—the Obama administration’s war on religious freedom.
In No Higher Power you’ll learn:
Why a second Obama term could spell the end of Catholic hospitals and the court-martialing of Christian military chaplains How the Obama administration is stripping conscience protections for pro-life doctors and nurses—forcing them to either assist in abortions or quit medicine How the Obama administration sought to ban Bibles from military hospitals and prohibit invocations of Jesus Christ at military funerals Why even Justice Elena Kagan—an Obama appointee to the Supreme Court—was shocked by the Obama administration’s dictating employment policy at a Lutheran church How Obama is defying federal law in the Defense of Marriage Act How liberal Christians like Jim Wallis have acted as useful idiots for Obama’s war on Christianity—and how the Catholic Left in Chicago actually helped pay for Obama’s training as a disciple of the radical Saul Alinsky Why the Obama administration coddles Islam while actively discriminating against Christians and Jews And much more In
In No Higher Power, Schlafly and Neumayr expose the Obama administration’s brazen disregard for the First Amendment, its relentless purging of religion from our public life, and the even more chilling persecution of religion set to come.
Phyllis Schlafly (1924-2016) was an American constitutional lawyer, conservative activist, and author.
She was known for her staunch social and political conservatism, her opposition to modern feminism, and her successful campaign against the ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment in the 1970s.
This book dated itself as Obama would go on to serve a second term. The content of the book was rather insightful and scary. Who knew the man's underlying intent and bend toward destroying this country and Christianity? Wow! Thank God for term limits. Also grateful for people like the author who stand up for wrong and violations of our constitution and rule of law. I need to do a better job of reading books like this in real time and to become better informed. A must read!
Phyllis Schlafly and George Neumayr are sadly proving to be right in their depiction of Obama's radical leftist mentality. He's the first President to go to Planned Parenthood to celebrate their "success" and from day one of his second administration he unapologetically embraced the homosexual agenda. Though it was at times a demoralizing read I found it informative.
Ms. Schlafly is extremely well spoken in her arguments. Unfortunately the lack of factual basis for those arguments necessitates a 1 star for me. If I could give it a 5 star rating for comedy only I would, as I literally laughed out loud throughout.

Schlafly and Neumayr explain the rise to power and the ideological differences between the Far-Left Progressives, Barack Hussein Obama and those who support, pave, and administer that power; and the Judao-Christian ideology that defines the United States of America from its inception. No Higher Power reviews the history of the man, President Obama, and the personnel in the machine that has been operating for decades culminating in the last two presidential victories. The intricacy for the fundamental change promised by this Progressive regime may be understood by listening to the audio version, narrated by Dianna Doman, or reading the book. The authors research back up their claim that there is an Obama declaration of war on religious freedom, the books subtitle.
Much of the book is a review of events but much of it is, also, an education that enlightens one to the guiding principles behind the radical change Americans are now witnessing. This book renders reasons for the otherwise inexplicable actions of those in power.
I recommend this book for the eye-opening realization that power wields to control, not necessarily govern, the masses; and this determines whether or not one believes that the people hold any power, whatsoever, or are sheep, led by an elite Progressive machine which promotes the illusion of individuals having power.
Normally, I do not read political books (nor do I have cable so I don't watch political shows). However, I have been deeply disturbed about the government's treatment of the Catholic faith (and others beliefs as well) with the recent healthcare bill. This book, while being a bit inflammatory and no doubt somewhat exaggerated, does offer some good information about government strategy and appointments which will affect the next four years. If you are concerned about your religious rights and the future of the gay rights movement, this book will be informative. I did skim some sections of the book (there is a lot of information about Obama's past history with Catholicism). The only thing missing here is a call to action- this is a lot of disturbing information, but no solutions are offered to combat it, which just leaves the reader sad and disappointed.
And maybe some info is not as exaggerated as I stated above- the book touches quite a bit on Obama's socialism agenda - and here is a story from today which confirms this is happening in public schools already: http://www.examiner.com/article/texas...
This book claims to demonstrate that Obama has been fighting a war aimed at the destruction of religion. Though the book has a lot about Obama, religion, and his other policies, the main thrust is his battle with certain teachings, namely Right to Choose and Gay rights related to marriage. The book is quite convincing in the assertion that Obama is willing to trample on the first amendment to achieve his goals on those issues. That is far from a war aimed at the destruction of religion. What is fairly well demonstrated is that he uses the concept of executive orders in ways that expand the role of the Executive Branch far beyond the limits established by the Constitution.
The authors look at President Obama's record of actions against American Christians and his contradiction of statements and action. They address the president's pro-Islamic stance as well as giving examples on attacks against Christian values. They claim that President Obama attempting to make government the de facto God of the United States as socialist values are encouraged.
I read this book after Obama left office, which means that many of the points the author made, based on the 2012 writing, were no longer relevant, now that President Trump has rolled back much of the Obama agenda.
The points, however, were prophetic in a sense, in that many of the warnings for the second term of Obama were realized and, were it not for a Republican held majority in both the House and Senate, could have been far more reaching. The most interesting of the author's points was that of the implementation of "Rules for Radicals," which I personally see playing out amongst the "Resist Movement" of 2017-2018. This book, taken in context, is a wealth of information that is still relevant and helpful today, not to mention a good reminder of how we got to this point in our history. It was relatively short, offered very noteworthy points of reference and was simple to follow.
