Anna Whitt, the daughter of a guardian angel and a demon, promised herself she’d never do the work of her father—polluting souls. She’d been naive to make such a vow. She’d been naive about a lot of things.

Haunted by demon whisperers, Anna does whatever she can to survive, even if it means embracing her dark side and earning an unwanted reputation as her school’s party girl. Her life has never looked more bleak. And all the while there’s Kaidan Rowe, son of the Duke of Lust, plaguing her heart and mind.

When an unexpected lost message from the angels surfaces, Anna finds herself traveling the globe with Kopano, son of Wrath, in an attempt to gain support of fellow Nephilim and give them hope for the first time. It soon becomes clear that whatever freedoms Anna and the rest of the Neph are hoping to win will not be gained without a fight. Until then, Anna and Kaidan must put aside the issues between them, overcome the steamiest of temptations yet, and face the ultimate question: is loving someone worth risking their life?

Oh Kai, your mind is a very dirty place to be that I have no problem on living in. ;)

Merged review:

Call on a battalion of firefighters because I think this book just set my whole being on fire!

Here in our country we are currently experiencing an epic case of heat wave, but dammit, it wasn't the thing that got me sweating an entire ocean!

And I think I just died of heat stroke and went straight up to heaven, because that's the only reason I can think of me feeling this kind of extreme elation!

THIS REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS FROM THE BOOK(Although the major ones would be hidden), a slight obnoxious amount of VIRTUAL SCREAMING through either means of usage of CAPS or bold letters or BOTH and a heck load of gif pictures of uncontrollable emotions of panic, happiness, fangirling, freaking out and everything and anything in between that cannot be fully expressed by the author. Okay, maybe you've already noticed the caps, bold, and gifs. This long run-on sentence is a proof that you have been warned.

Sweet Peril begins with a prologue about the fate faced by two Nephilim who fell in love with each other in the past. So basically, Wendy Higgins wanted to then and there scare the crap out of all of us, by telling 'Yeahhhh...Kaidan and Anna are never ever ever getting back together, unless you want them dead eh?'. Okaaaaaaay, maybe that was just my masochistic(and Taylor Swift song replaying) brain speaking and not what she really meant, but still it was one heck of a downer!

But be still all fangirl and fanboy hearts, Wendy made up for it big time! *wink*

So after that heartbreaking prologue, this book picks up months after the end of the first book. Anna made a 360 from the school's good girl to this major party girl. But it's all for show, because the demon whisperers are lurking around to see if all the Nephilims are doing their corresponding "jobs".

But these demon whisperers gave extra attention on breathing down her neck because of the suspicions of some Dukes on her and her father. We then see Anna's struggle on keeping up this facade, that is wholly against her other nature, just to survive. And on top all that, she does this all with a broken heart and other conflicting feelings for a certain boy named Kaidan Rowe.

Okay, if that was me, I think I might just pass out from all that stress. So, I can't help admire Anna on the way she handled everything that is thrown at her in this book. She handled it with determination and she remained strong all throughout without losing that compassionate side of her that I love.

But of course, that's not interesting enough, there will be this thing that she unveils which will take her to this trip around the world with Kopano. And thus cue the enter of the love triangle.

Unlike many love triangles I've read, this has gotta be one of the rare ones that was handled beautifully. Each guy was a given a fair chance with the girl, thus the results and decisions she made was easy to accept and understandable. Each boy got their own special moments with Anna, and Wendy did an amazing job at transitioning the Kopano moments to the Kaidan moments.

And let's fast forward to those Kaidan moments shall we?

OH DEAR HEAVENS! Excuse me while I faint.

OH MY DEAR HEAVENS AGAIN!!!!!!!!! Those Kai moments, were the moments I was living for!

Girls, brace yourselves! Kaidan will get your hormones, ovaries, fallopian tubes and other female parts in a giffy! Heck, he made mine do a tango around my other poor unsuspecting internal organs! I was not kidding when I said that Kaidan and Anna got me sweating. The romantic and sexual tension between this two in this book is unlike anything I have ever witnessed and experienced before. We all witness their blazing chemistry in book 1, but hell fire on loose, this was just a whole other epic level. It's like a flamethrower on steroids with a life of its own, shooting everything in its path and burning them in flames together with this two. It is HOTNESS OVERLOAD with a side of SWOON EXPLOSION.

Note: That is still Wade Poezyn, but with long-ish hair. Like the way Kaidan wore it here in Sweet Peril. And yeah, there's Anna.

In their time apart and all that denying each other, we can all conclude that there will be a lot of pent up emotion and frustrations. Just imagine that, all breaking out? And yeah, also put that at a limited time frame to deal with. YUP, AN INSTANT SAUNA RIGHT THERE!

But the main thing that I love most about those moments, aside from the obvious totally hot reasons, is the vulnerability that we got to witness from Kai. He managed to open up, if not all, most of his insecurities and fears to Anna. They developed this honesty in their relationship towards the end and it was just so sweet, and sigh-worthy. And I fell a little more in love with Kaidan Rowe. And I can't even begin to cope how that's possible because I already love him too much. Eeeeepppp!

Dear Kaidan,

Love, Me.

The other characters we love such as the twins, Blake, Patti and Belial was very much present too. Ginger, who I didn't like in the first book, has surprisingly grown on me. Marna was just this perfect best friend for us readersAnna, asking all the right questions to the tidbits we badly want to know! LOL. AND A BIG SHOUT OUT TO BLAKE! This guy is funny as hell and I adore him so much!

New characters will also be introduced that would play a vital part in the last book. A particular scene towards the end involving most of them had my heart frozen from the suspense! It was crazy! I felt like I was there with them and all!

This sequel was a perfect follow-up to a series that is quickly becoming one of best I've read. It provided a great continuation to the main plot and build this strong foundation to a new one that will aid to an already seeming unforgettable finish. It was captivating, thrilling, heart-stopping and just downright amazing. I'm already craving and begging for more! How can I ever wait for another year?

Sweet Peril is the sequel to Sweet Evil, which i absolutely loved and couldn't put down. This was a fantastic continuation to the trilogy and i was not let down.

tumblr ljlql4 Wem S1qc5xzp

I won't tell you what Sweet Peril is about because i don't want to give away any spoilers for the previous book, but i will say this - it's based on teens who's lives literally depend on being bad influences. This is the fate of sons and daughters of the Fallen Angels. Most of them don't have a choice but to do the bidding of their parents, they call it 'working'.

e.g - working, for the son of Lust, is considered having sex and seducing woman.

“I was more myself with you during those three days than I’ve ever been with anyone in my life. It’d be easier if I could be fake with you, but you bring out everything in me, little Ann. All of it.”

This book is a solid 5 star read if you ignore my issues with it - like not being able to get into it more because of lack of time.

I also had an issue with Anna, she was sometimes really annoying and was too good -she didn't let/like when people swore and she stopped Kaidan from saying dirty words to her. I was like...

tumblr m9lbpif ZNn1r7xovu

tumblr lp41k3 KMU91qd1k3n

Speaking of talking dirty, there was a lot more steamy hot scenes in this book than in the previous one, which i was certainly happy about.

tumblr mhffgj D4bk1rxnkxao1 500

“Spend the night with me.” (...)
“I’m tired of living like I’m not alive.” He dropped his hands from my face to grip my shoulders. “I’m bloody sick to death of it. I want one night to be alive. With you.” He closed his eyes and leaned his forehead on mine.
“Please, Anna. One last night and we’ll go back to being safe again. I need this. I need you.”

But don't get your hopes up that you'll get a lot more of Kaidan and Anna scenes, cause my darling, you won't. In fact, half the book is about them getting back together and forgiving each other for their mistakes ( and believe me there were a lot of mistakes when they were seperate).

time to forgive yourself

Sweet Peril was an amazing read that i extremly enjoyed. Full of action and new truths that just hit you like a fist in the face. There was lots of new, interesting characters that i fell in love with and can't wait to read more about. Definitely recommend this to Sweet Evil fans.

“I love you," I whispered.

"I've loved you longer," he said.”

Sweet Peril by Wendy Higgins

By the end of Sweet Evil we were up for a dangerous heartbreak as we all know wondered how Kai and Anna could be together, ever. so, with the beginning of Sweet Peril we are already sad and heartbroken and .. Anna’s pure little heart is no less broken and sad. The whole story of Sweet Evil centers around 2 major important plots and one of them is definitely the epic love between the Demon Son and the Angel Daughter. Evil and Pure – how can they be together? This is what we desperately want to figure out ourselves and I warn you know – tears will fall, hearts will break. And I am not just talking about Anna and Kai because my little heart just felt with them!

Anna – the pure little Angel-Demon …
While Anna was completely innocent in Sweet Evil she now has to start “working” for her Dad so keep up appearance and to fool all the other Dukes and Demons. And we must admire Anna strength and strong will because behaving like this feels totally out fo context for her. But Anna grows and I think we see a remarkable change in Anna. She appears even stronger, more determined than ever and even goes totally out of her comfort zone. I cannot help but admire this girl!! I loved Anna so much already in Sweet Evil – but I love her even more fiercely in Sweet Peril! She combines perfectly her Angel and demonic heritance and becomes a little more edgy

Sex on Legs or… Kai !
Ok I know I shouldn’t associate Sex On Leg with a YA novel, but I just cannot help it when talking about Kaidan Rowe. This sexy demon-son is everything I love in a bad boy – he’s incredibly sexy, mega hot, he can be a total jerk (and yes, especially in Sweet Peril we see a lot of his jerkiness!!) but he has a heart and as much as he doesn’t want his heart to take over, we can see and we love him for this even more! Kai – sexy, dangerous and so sooo stubborn and with a heart he only opens up for Anna, how can we not love him??

Love and Danger ….
One of the main storylines followed Anna’s search for Allies around the world. I loved this part so much! It not only brought us to different places but also introduces a wonderful supporting character we all will love so much – Kopano – Son of Wrath who helps and support Anna on her journey! What seems to be obvious from the synopsis is the introduction of a Love Triangle. But fear not, Wendy Higgins deals so delicately and perfectly with it, that it doesn’t truly hurt, but was completely genuine and understandable! You can only be pushed so much… right? This whole sequel was just amazing, full of love, passion, danger and heartbreak. Girls who easily cry just like me will most definitely shed a tear or two….

Personal Note: I can't begin to say how much this books means to me. Wendy named one character in one cute scene after 3 of us bloggers. Me, Jenny and Tara and you wouldn't believe, but I had tears in my eyes when I read the scene... I'm a blond girl , Daniela with an European accent!!gosh that was the most amazing feeling ever!!!

I love Wendy!!
Oh and.... Kai...;-))

Initial Reation:

This book should never be a consideration, just a definite yes, yes, and YES.

Give The Sweet Evil trilogy a chance. The first book did not disappoint and imagine just how freaking unbelievable this one is going to be!?

Yeah, I know! I'm rooting for Wendy Higgins and all my favourite characters here :) Get it, girl!

My Review

This book could have been better. I say this because Sweet Evil was the book that I pimped everywhere. I can't say that I will be doing the same with Sweet Peril because Wendy Higgin's second instalment wasn't as strong as her debut.

Sweet Peril takes off where its predecessor left and we're back with Anna and her daily Nephlim grind. She's got to work to keep her dad off of the other Duke's radar, turning the human population towards alcohol and drugs, but her heart isn't in it. Partly because she's half angel, and also because Anna's predominantly occupied with thoughts of Kaidan, missing him. They are still trying to take down the Dukes and gather allies, but it felt like all that really mattered was how much Anna missed "Kai." The fate of the world rests in her hands, and all Anna really wanted to do was see the boy.

To be fair, she does take the responsibility of saving Neph and Humankind seriously, but the teen swoony romance could have been dialled down. They are in love, I get that, but it felt like their romance dominated most of the book. I was looking forward to reading more of Kaidan and Anna, but with the way it was handled in Sweet Peril, I began to tire of their romance. It was like her life basically revolved around him, and one can only read about how smouldering a guy is before it gets to be enough. There are issues with Kopano, as can be expected, as well as an interesting revelation that has to do with Neph and their badges, but in all honesty Sweet Peril had more to do with Kaidan and Anna not being together than anything else.

I expected more substance, and even though we meet more of the other Neph, discovering additional information in regards to the prophecy, I wasn't as enamoured this time around. The series is still fantastic, I love you Wendy, but I'm hoping that Sweet Reckoning will more than make up for where this book fell short.

3.5/5 stars: Sweet Peril is compelling, and while it picks up nicely from where the former left off, this book fails to deliver as emotional an impact as the first.

Ow Kai

I loved being in Kai's head. We can see how much he struggles to be worth of Anna's love.
I love his dirty but fun mind. It's impossible not love him!

He is definitely my favorite male character and I don't think I'm ready to say goodbye to this series.

It can't end it just can't, Wendy!

A gazillion stars!!!

Sweet Peril live up to its successor, Sweet Evil. Anna's journey still rich, heartbreaking, passionate and funny.

On this second installment we learn more about the Nephs' story, we got to see the characters we learn to love struggle with what they are, and witness the characters growth and make new friends.

Sweet Peril is unputdownable! I only stopped my reading to sleep. And the first thing i did when I open my eyes the next day was to go back to my reading.

So, friends, I can't hardly wait for you all too experience this. And if you didn't read the first book yet, you don't know what you're missing out!

PS: Thanks Wendy who provided a fan like me to read this incredible story before it came out :)

"Traveling the world in search of possibly hostile Neph and eluding murderous Dukes seemed like a piece of cake in comparison to trying to be a good girl in the arms of Kaidan Rose"

Holy damn. Sweet Mercy is what this book should have been called. I am not going to lie, this is a hot piece of novel. Be beware: this book is prone to make the person reading take short and shallow breaths. But there are as many cons as there are pros, sad to say.

Let's get the cons out of the way first. Big con? The ending. I felt like the book ended not on a cliffhanger but on the wrong page. Like we needed at least 30-50 pages more to settle the characters in the next stage instead of leaving us midway through. Not cool. I didn't feel like my heart was being ripped away from me (like the first book's ending) but I also didn't feel like it was an ending. Just, another chapter. Another thing was the plot a bit shallow. As deep as a kiddie pool. I can't lie, doesn't mean I didn't devour the novel (I did) but I can still point out where it felt short. The whole book's time span was a year and some months. We went through Anna's senior year like it didn't matter, because I get for the story it didn't but it was still weird. How did this girl graduate anyways? Who knows with all the pretend partying she was doing and the not caring about her school life anymore. It all went by so fast, nothing of her "old life" was really explored. Her old friends were basically pushed to a corner and most of the time she was being all mopie about not having Kai with her (though I can completely understand).

Which brings us to the PROS. Number one, front and center, being Kaidan.

Hellooooo handsome!! Yes, that is my Kaidan too. The scenes between him and Anna are not for the faint of heart. Let's give you a small, tiny, example:

"Kaidan took a predatory step toward me and I instinctually stepped back. In that slow way he stalked forward until I was agaisnt the sink. The intensity of his face charged me, and I swore to myself I'd kill any creature that tried to come between us this time. His hands reached out and gripped the sink on either side of my waist, and without a word his hot mouth covered mine."

It felt like more than half the book was filled with these hot steamy scenes. Which I was definitely not complaining about!

I wanted to learn more about Blake, he is my second favorite. Maybe we could get a side story from him or something? God I hope so. All the old pals were here too, the twins, Kope, etc. I like all the side characters, they add a lot to the story.

So yes Sweet Peril was a good continuation! It has it's flaws true, but you certainly get what you are looking for between the pages. Anna wasn't as much of a good girl, which was a plus. Kaidan was as devastatingly gorgeous, and Wendy made half the book a big make out fest. What more can a girl ask for?! Guilty pleasure? Perhaps, but I am enjoying every second of it.

My last wish: can we get that whole day in Kaidan's apartment from Kai's POV? PLEASE?!?!

UPDATE 9/21/2012

It has been picked up for publication by HarperTeen!!!! Smart fellows!

Dreams do come true!

Wait a second, not picked up for publication? BULLSHIT. I say that if the publishers don't pick up this book for publication (and if they don't they are being the less bright crayons in the box) the author should self publish it, if anything. I'll sure as hell buy it and I am sure a lot of other people will too (just don't leave us hanging. I am EAGERLY waiting for Sweet Hope).

There are very few trilogies in which the second book is as strong as the first. Even fewer where the second book blows the first book to kingdom come. Well, folks, SWEET PERIL plants Wendy Higgins's series firmly in the latter category.

Knowing full well that SWEET EVIL was one of my favorite paranormal romance novels, I knew Higgins had her work cut out if she wanted to impress this girl--but impress she did. SWEET PERIL is chock full of steaminess, excitement extraordinaire, and an ending powerful enough to have me on my knees begging for the final book. I don't know how you do it, Wendy, but stick a fork in me--because my ass is spent.

I was amazed by writing, captivated by story and mesmerized by characters. I LOVED IT! This book is about love and hatred, hope and despair, sins and humanity. Sweet Peril is much more than just ordinary paranormal story. Without exaggerating I can say that this series is definitely the best one when it comes to fallen angels (or angels in general) stories!

My Kaiden:

My Anna:

Anna is not this naive girl we knew in previous book anymore. Story is set couple of months after events in Sweet Evil, Anna is under constant supervision of demon whisperers and she is forced to work for her demon father - she had to become the famous party girl and temp people into commiting sins. Is she happy about it? Of course not, but if she wants to live, she has no other choice. Under weight of guilt and responsibility, it is visible that our little Anna matured up. And I have to admit I love this new version of Anna even better.

Even after prologue itself, it was clear that this sequel was destined to be more dangerous and depressive than previous book in series. Things were still not looking good at all for Anna and Kaiden or other Nephs.
"My life was a tiny dot on the map. But even those tiny dots could make a difference - especially when they came together. I grasped that thread of hope and let it lift me."

Kaiden is still this same tortured soul, feeling unworthy of Anna, pushing her away with every opportunity. But no matter how much he tries to pretend, it is visible how deep his feelings for Anna are. Kaiden is great character. He has hard life, he has none saying in it, but he still tries to be better person even though it seems there is no hope for him to reach happiness. He is admirable and inspiring person.

Also, even though this is YA series, it has some serious sexy hot feel into it. And I blame it all (in a very good way) on Kaiden. He is just irresistible, sensual and incredibly attractive boy. However, besides Anna's and Kaiden's personal turmoils, Sweet Peril reveals plenty of new info about fallen angels or Nephs and overall it is pretty adventurous story. You will never be bored, on the contrary, you will always be on your toes while reading it.

Sweet Peril felt like a very mature read to me considering it is categorized as YA genre. Author never idealized characters or life itself and showed negative sides of it in quite believable way even though this is paranormal series we are talking about. And I loved everything about it, there was no single moment I would feel annoyed or bored. Kudos to the author, I seriously cannot wait for final instalment of this trilogy!!!

'"I need you to be serious."

His blue eyes scorched me. "Oh, I've never been more serious." He leaned his face down to mine, and I wrenched my head to the side.
"You're trying to distract me."
His lips skimmed my neck. "I've no clue what you mean."

Oh, his voice.

"I'm serious," I said, hoping I sounded stronger than I felt.
We have unfinished business, Kai."

He turned my head back to face him and breathed his next words against my mouth. "Oh I'd say we have quite a bit of unfinished business, little Ann."

This was one addictive book.

My Opinion of This Book: I loved it!

Anna Anna has grown so much. In Sweet Evil, she was so innocent, but in this one, we see a whole different side of her. We see this party girl that's so kickass and can defend herself. She's not this weak, naive girl anymore. This Anna is strong. I loved her.

"My girlfriend is a party-angel who can kick some arse and cook."

Kaidan is as charming as ever, if not even more. In this one, he's not so scared and he realizes a lot of things and opens up instead of keeping everything locked in like he did in the first novel. He's probably my favorite character in this series.

I tried to warn you,
but girls never listen.
Got your innocence insured?
'Cause it's 'bout to be stolen
Right out from under your nose.
Prepare to curl your toes.
I've got a one-track mind.
You've got a nice behind.

I had a good thing goin'
All numb in my shell,
Then you took me by surprise
and now I'm scared as hell.
I don't wanna feel for you,
I don't wanna feel.
If feeling means hurting,
then I don't wanna be real.

You crank up my lust, girl,
you tame down my rage.
You let your inner vixen
Roam out of her cage.
The moment our lips met
I saw it in your eyes,
But you were seeing me, too,
I now realize.

What do I want from you?
I want everything.
And I'm not gonna share ---
This ain't a casual fling.
You can be my bad girl,
I'll even be your good boy.
How'd the tables get turned?
F*** it, I'll be your love toy.

The Side Characters: The side characters were pretty cool as well, especially Blake. Blake is so hilarious, I love him. Ginger and the rest of them were awesome too.

The Romance: The romance was so good. It was the perfect amount. And, well, my OTP is the best. I ship Kai and Anna so much more now. Kanna? I dunno..they need a ship name.

The Writing: The writing was gorgeous. It's even better than it was in the first book. There's more variety of words and it's more descriptive.

The Ending: The ending was incredible, it definitely will make you want the next book ASAP.

Kope: I don't know, I just feel like his character is a bit bland and he's really awkward.

⚫There wasn't much of Jay in this book which makes me a bit sad since I really love his character. Hopefully there's more of him in the next book. *crosses fingers*

Slow Pace (sometimes): Some parts were a bit slow and I found myself being bored (mostly the beginning).

I don't think this one is as good as the first, but it was still really good. I'm excited to read the next book!

"You bring out everything in me, little Ann. All of it."

What went wrong?

While the first book Sweet Evil was phenomenal, Sweet Peril seemed to be sort of a letdown. I don't know what to think. There was just too much going on in this book but most of those things are not important I don't think they should be included. The plot progression was a bit frustrating. And the first half was also a bit slow.

Apart from that, I find the forced love triangle quite unnecessary. Don't get me wrong. I love Kopano but I don't think he needs to be a love interest, too.

Aaaaand! Anna Whitt. Omg what happened to this sweet and likeable girl in the first book? Her obsession with Kaidan was too overbearing here.

*breathes heavily*

I don't like girls who are soooo obsessed with a guy. And Anna was just that kind of girl in this book. :( She even had the tendency to be easily affected whenever Kaidan is around and I guess that's my major issue here.

Kaidan, on the other hand, was quite a jerk-- well, most of the time. His constant avoiding games irritated me. I don't like what he was doing to Anna during the first parts of this book. Thankfully, he was able to come to his senses during the later part. Still, I am not a fan of his behavior in this book.

But anyways, some parts of this book are otherwise interesting. The introduction of new characters like Zania and Caterina, the epic prologue, and Blake and Flynn's amusing personalities.

As a whole, this book is not so good for me. But it's not bad either. I still found myself enjoying some parts of it. :)

Kitap boyunca bir şeyler olmasını beklerken ben:

Ben bu seriyi çözemiyorum ya gerçekten. Karakterlerin çoğunu sevmiyorum, kitapta neredeyse hiç aksiyon yoktu ama sevmedim demeye dilim varmıyor. 2 verecektim, ona bile elim gitmedi.

Koymasam olmaz.

Holy. Mother. of. Heavens.

I'm officially addicted to this series. I sigh for Kai. I love Kaidan Rowe. This hot fallen angel drummer is absolutely swoon worthy. I have a new guilty pleasure and I feel so dreamy. I'm such a hopeless romantic.

Anyways, Sweet Peril is a great sequel. Anna becomes the good-girl-gone-bad by partying and drinking to please the demon whisperers because it's one way to survive. As a daughter of Substance abuse, she has to work by promoting the sins to people. It's also a way of not to think Kaidan Rowe but she couldn't get him out of her mind. She received a message/prophecy from an angel that the fallen angels had a second chance. It's like building an army against the Dukes. To achieve that, she needs trusted allies. She travels with Kopano to find other Nephilims who can support them in the rebellion. It is very a risky, difficult task but Anna must do this in order to get freedom from everything. (So she could love Kaidan freely without worrying demon whisperers & The Dukes)

I love how it focuses more on the conflict of the story than the romance aspect. Not that there is no romance in this book. I love how it introduces us to other characters like Kopano, Blake, Zania, Flynn, Ginger & Marna. etc. Emphasizing their characters gives us an opportunity to getting to know their backgrounds and importance of their roles. There are parts that we might missed Kai, but it's really worth the wait. Hahaha! Patience is all you need. ;)

I really like Anna's character development on this book. She's more confident, mature and got the angst. Of course we will not forget Kaidan and Anna's love story. There's a little love triangle in this book, but that's only temporary of course. I must say the love story between them is steamier than the first installment. THAT KITCHEN SCENE. ALL THE COOKING. THE BROWNIES OH.MY.GOD. Steamy. Steamy. Steamy. Kaidan is more swoon worthy. He's so sweet, loving, caring, hot and romantic guy. Shizzzzzzzz!!

Overall, I love this and I can't wait to read the next one. I NEED MORE KAIDAN!

Wow, this is even better than book one, the Plot is better and the character development is just so great, the new characters are amazing and the old ones are better, the plot is more intense than the first and everything falls into place. This book is also very diverse, the main characters are all from different races, Wendy really outdid herself there.

Plot summary(with spoilers)
Anna found herself working even when she vowed that she will not, cause the demon whisperers stalk her like crazy, Kaidan refuse to talk to her, its being months since they last saw and she's still heartbroken.

The spirit of the nun who gave her to her adopted mother appeared to her and told her that they is a prophecy that a pure in heart nephilim can send the dukes back to hell and God will give them a chance at redemption on judgement day, also a great news for the nephilims because they can then live their lives the way they want. She disclose the message to her father who told her that they need allies, he sent her and Kope to different parts of the world to gain allies, Zania daughter of the duke of hatred,Flynn son of greed and the former crew Ginger and Marna the twins, Blake and Kaidan.

Kaidan was still not talking to her when she went to tell him and Blake, she later found out that it was her dad that told him to stay away, she was super pissed and they started dating. Her father then told her that Zania one of her allies is about to be killed and sent Kaidan,Kope and Flynn to rescue her, The duke's spies saw Flynn there and he was killed for interfering, but he refused to tell them who he was working for or with. The dukes then decided that they need to purge(kill) all nephilims.

Anna and her crew have to act fast to get rid of the dukes before they kill them all.

I could say I wanted to love this book, but that would be a lie.

You know how some people feel compelled to finish a book, whether they like it or not? Well, I'm like that with series. Most of the time, at least.

Which is why I felt compelled to finish this book, even though I disliked Sweet Evil.

Here's just the general gist of what I hated:
- TOO much obsessing over Kaidan on Anna's part.
- Predictable plot- if you could even call it that.
- Why was Kope even there? To assure Anna that Kaidan is "the one"?
- The ending was pretty much the same as the first book.
- Romance subplot takes front and center- I HATE it when books replace the actual plot with romance and call it a "plot". It's like the author couldn't think of a real story.

I don't know how else to convince you of how utterly terrible this book is. But I will give you this: a character (who supposedly spoke perfect Spanish) said, "Jugar con mi chica?"

Okay, anyone who has taken a semester of Spanish sees the fault in conjugation in that sentence. Sorry, Higgins, but just a tip: DON'T USE GOOGLE TRANSLATE.

I know this is a small nitpick, but it annoyed me to no end and is a disgrace to all Spanish-speakers.

Don't read this book. Just don't. It will only succeed in making you angry.

One small tiny note: the kissing scenes were cute, I must admit, even if they got old after a while. Probably the only thing that stopped me from giving this book 1 star.

Okay, so I think SO often the second book in a series lets you down, this was DEFINITELY not the case with Sweet Hope.
The tension was incredible.
Kaidan was just as hot, if not MORE so.
Not kidding.
This book had some great twists and turns, and I can't wait to see what'll happen in number three...

Kitaptaki karakterler çok hoşuma gidiyor ya. Anna'ya ilk kitapta çok gıcık olmuştum. Saf avanağın tekiydi ama kendini toparlamış, şükürler olsun. Biraz aksiyon olsaydı daha güzel olurdu. Umarım serinin devamında tempo artar.
