This is my sequel to Perished: The World That Was.

This book was exciting to write. To my knowledge no other author has attempted to cover the time frames found in Perished (Creation to the Flood) and The Rise of Shem (Flood to Abram's call to leave Haran).

When writing historical novels it is always exciting to do the research and this was true of The Rise of Shem. I tried to weave the historical and cultural facts into the story. The reader learns history even as they are being entertained.
