I won this book as a goodreads giveaway. I thoroughly enjoyed this mystery. It was well written and had interesting and diverse characters. It was a little difficult to follow at first because you are introduced to many characters and lots of information in the first few pages. After that slow start, it really picks up and becomes a page turner.

Interesting characters, would have liked to get to know some of them better. Begs for sequels...

No real ending..too much left unsaid. Too many unanswered questions.

I think the characters in the book could have been better formed by the author. They were all such interesting people but I felt they were all just a little flat. The author provided enough to get you a good picture in your mind but not enough to get you to really know them. I mean, come on – a female Asian detective secretly obsessed with being a Geisha – give me some more gritty details!! Some fantasies that she had or an actual liaison would have gone a long way in developing the character. Also, I thought the ending was a little too neat. Why not have the second in command rejected by the new owner putting his life in an upheaval or have the main character stay in California to work for the new ownwer? Just a little something to keep you wondering how things worked out after you put the book down.

As someone who is not familiar with Wall Street investment banking, I found it interesting to read this novel where the main character, Georgina, is given the opportunity to close a deal involving a takeover. She is young, competent, and possibly somewhat naive regarding the callous nature of aquisitions. As she manuevers through the process of pitching the deal to her client she is faced with several obstacles including a possible murder and she must question the ethics of that which she is involved. There is plenty of suspense woven into the story as well as some light action. I won this book on Goodreads.
