A very good, down to earth book covering ins and outs, pitfalls to avoid when remodeling the house. Focuses a bit on doing the work yourself, but has some very helpful chapters on dealing with contractors and contracts.

An excellent companion to "Make it right : inside home renovation with Canada's most trusted contractor" by Mike Holmes
