Thus begins the book that takes you into the world of the main protagonist of the story Paroma. Paroma represents the majority of Indian women who often face the dilemmas of arranged marriages, strange husbands and a life far away from their comfort zones.

Tread Softly by Ms. Nandita Bose, the name suggest that it's a story that needs to be savored slowly.
Tread Softly is about an accidental marriage that brought two exactly opposite persons tied in a bond that would last for next seven lives (as per Hindu rituals). It takes you through miseries of Paroma, the protagonist, and creates a picture of her feelings, her pain, her happiness.
Ms. Bose's language is fresh and has a sense of maturity in each and every sentence. The way characters are

A lot better than the Promise of Perfume! But there is still an element of deliberate confusions and lack of communication that isall pervasive and I am wondering if that's a common theme across all of Nandita's books :-(
