May have slight spoilers.

This is the first novel I have ever read that was New Adult novel and I have to say that it will not be my last!

Derailed is a wonderful novel about a woman named Molly who has recently lost her fiancé. And I mean lost by he is no longer living. Caring guilt and grief she quits law school in Boston in the middle of class and decides to go home to Clayton Falls, North Carolina.

When she gets there she is immediately met by her best friend Kelly who takes her to the bar, thi

Derailed (Clayton Falls #1) by Alyssa Rose Ivy

This is another first time author for me, Alyssa Rose Ivy’s writing is good, I enjoyed all the characters she introduced us to, the plot is well written, story flowed easily and I read Derailed in one afternoon as I really didn’t want to put it down. Derailed is about a young woman who knew she had to escape her small town, leaving behind friends and family after the death of her father. Guilt can be a horrible thing for a young woman to deal with so

Nope. It was very amateurish, a lot of dialogue, not a lot of style. It was an alright premise but just kind of lost its way early on.

This is such a cute story! Even though, there is death involved, yes, I do think this was a very cute story.

After her fiancé's death, Molly decides to quit law school in Boston and return to her hometown, Clayton Falls. She feels like she needs to get away from everything and wants safety that only her friends and a small town can offer her. The story develops very fast, and we soon find out about Ben, her high school sweetheart.

Enjoyed this one, a quick, sweet, emotional read.

The story starts with Molly quitting law school and moving back to her home town after 5 years of being away at school. She moves back into her parents house for the time being, although her dad is deceased and her mom is living in Seattle with her older sister. Right away you meet her bff Kelly(who was great). You learn quickly that Molly moving home is in big reason due to the fact that she is not with her fiancee anymore. She tells everyone th

This was actually a really feelgood romance and I liked it. For those who like second-chance romance, you will love this. It is a little predictable, but it's also written in a very engaging way that makes you read on. It's fairly short.

I loved Molly and Ben. The fact that Molly took action after she realized that she wasn't where she wanted to be in life...that's brave. Most people would just roll with it because it's safe. She is also a sweet girl with a grea

Molly returns home after walking out of law school and the life she had to figure out what she wants to do instead. She is grieving and lost but when she sees old flame Ben she isn't sure what to do. He wants a second chance. Can Molly have a fresh start with Ben or wills he give it all up again?

This was really a bit of a surprise. I thought the pacing was perfect, the build up was intense and I felt for Molly she is clearly hurting. Ben was amazing. Highly entertaining.

I want a Ben. The end...Kidding.

If I could make a list about all the things I loved about this book, it would probably be longer than the actual review. I cant explain how Alyssa Rose Ivy has taken my breath away with Derailed. A lot of the books I read are paranormal in nature, but every once in a while I find a book that's just about life and things people go through and this novel is definitely one of those stories. I'm floored with how Ivy takes us into Molly's world and immediately

So, I finally got to read an Alyssa Rose Ivy book! :)

I 'met' Alyssa online ages ago and she's so sweet and genuine. I have several of her books, but you know how it is when you're writing and busy and you just don't feel like you can really be a reader anymore. Well, I finally just picked one on my Kindle and went at it one night.

When I got started with it, I was a little scared. Oh, no. It's gonna be gut-wrenching and she's going to resist the whole book and there won't be any love!! But the f

Molly comes back home to Clifton Falls, North Carolina to try and figure out what she's supposed to do next. Months after her fiance's death, she's quit law school and found that booze helps numb the nightmares that plague her. But she didn't count on her return stirring up the other ghosts of her past and making her finally take a look at where's she's been and what really makes her happy.

Despite the somber tones of this book, I really enjoyed it. As a reader, my heart went out to Molly right a

I was so excited when this tour came up. I had my eye on this book and I enjoyed it as much as I thought I would. It's a bittersweet story of love, loss, and finding your way back home.

Molly was a bit lost. I felt so bad for her. Not only has she lost her fiance, but tragedy seems to follow her. When she went back home I felt a little nervous for her. She was trying to keep the details around her fiance's death a secret, but I think that only hurt her more. When she gets reunited with her old b

Wow..*sniffles* just wow. This was one of the most epic love stories I have ever read. Yes it was a little predictable, but the author weaved a fair amount of mystery throughout to keep you completely engaged.

I just can't say enough how much I loved this story. Alyssa Rose Ivy has done it again. She is quickly becoming a favorite:)

*Be Warned* This book is emotional and tissues are required. I was so engrossed in the story, I couldn't help but feel Molly's pain and joy. Molly was a very unique ch

She did not plan on getting back together with her high school sweetheart Ben. However, we know that's exactly what happens. Original Review @ Naomi’s Reading Palace

Back in December 2012, I read the second book in the Veer series, and now’s the time to go back and read the first book, Derailed. I’ve forgotten how easy Alyssa Rose Ivy pulls you into her writing and I was quickly swept away in her world.

As you can tell in the blurb, this is a second chance at love for Molly and Ben. Molly moved home after the death of her fiancé, unsure of her future and what she wants from life. Molly feels down because of wha

Derailed tells us the story of Molly, a twenty something year old law student in Boston who's been struggling to deal with the death of her fiance. Plagued with guilt and an empty existence, she returns to the place she never imagined she'd ever go back to, Clayton Falls. Molly believes going back home would help her clear her head and find her way back to any semblance of happiness, but what she finds is a future with the boy she thought she'd left in the past.

Alyssa Rose Ivy is an amazing author, her work always seems to amaze me. She has a way of captivating her readers from the start. I would highly recommend Derailed, it was full of passion, excitement and so much more. I feel most readers will be able to relate to what Molly has experience in her short life, and I love when I read a book I can connect with. I can not say enough about how truly amazing this book is, I can't wait til the sequel is released with Jake's story. I think it will be very ...more

I could not get into this book. I had a hard time connecting with the main character, Molly. I know she had been through a lot but it didn't come across in the writing. Instead of feeling sympathy for her, I just found her annoying. One person's review of this book said it seemed amateurish, with a lot of dialogue - I agree. I think that's why I couldn't connect with Molly - there was a lot of talking without much introspection on her part.

And what was up with Ben and Gavin? They both seemed ob

Man where to begin for this story. It tugged at my heart and had me right there with the characters rooting them on. I just had to see what happens when you let go of hurt and let your guards down long enough for love to take route. Well that is what Molly did and the results were both terrifying and refreshing all in one.

Molly is in law school and she is engaged. She is living the life and wants for nothing. That is until her fiance dies and feeling overwhelmed and alone she leaves law school a

I’m a sucker for a good first sentence and this one really pulled me in:

The message was only three words, but his failure to respond had changed everything.

Derailed is a Contemporary New Adult novel that puts you on a roller coaster of heavy emotions—guilt, healing, and happiness. A tender, heartfelt story of gathering yourself back together after tragedy strikes and learning how to live again filled with deeply rich characters and a well thought out plotline.

Derailed was a prefect blend of romance, intrigue, mystery, humor, and raw emotions. When I first heard about this book, I was interested, but thought it would be like any other book where I’d feel content, but didn’t expect anything much from it. Boy, was I wrong! This book was a very quick read.

If you're looking for something simple and straightforward, this was it. There was nothing complex about this story whatsoever. It was predicable and the events moved far too quickly to seem realistic.

There was no substantial plot or conflict. Molly and Ben wasted no time hooking back up and even though the idea of Molly running off or not being able to have a substantial relationship with Ben was put forth, there was ne

This is a really good book. My first New Adult book and I really enjoyed it. When I first started reading this book, I thought I was missing being thrown into a series without the facts, but as I continued reading, I was like.. okay, this is all intentional. I'm not supposed to know what happened to Adam, that's a secret. So, I continued to read and my confusion faded. Surprisingly, I finished this book all in one sitting. Fairly quickl
