This was a cute, quick, alien/mate/futuristic read.

With not so of much this:

But some of this:

And more of this:

For realz though, some scenes did seem very...Star War-sy.

Recommends it for: Everyone
I just read this book for the 9th time. I kid you not. I absolutely think this is the best book that S.E. Smith has written, IMO. I cannot say enough about it. I am always surprised that there aren't a lot more people touting this book. It is so moving and beautiful.

My boys know that when I tell them that I am about to read Gracie's Touch, that I am going to be a basket-case for the first hour or so. I am serious, that first chapter rips my heart out every. single. time. It is unusual for a boo

I couldn't finish this book. I'm willing to give most books a pass on some of the technical details for the sake of the story, but I just couldn't suspend my disbelief enough.

First of all, if you've just learned that everyone you care about died 800 years ago, you're not going to fall in love with someone you've exchanged about seven sentences with no more than a day later. It's made even worse when the medic on the ship points out that Gracie is suffering from depression, but it's apparently c

I first read a book by this author about eighteen months ago and I'm ashamed to say I still have others by her sat on my kindle. Why? Well Abducting Abby had lots of sex scenes but not as much character development as I like. Still friends keep recommending her books and assure me there's a lot more polish to her work these days so happily I dove into this with expectations that truly were met!
I won't say too much about the story as the book synopsis gives away the basic premise. What I fo

I really wanted to like this more. Maybe I'm burnt out on the insta-mate concept.

We have Gracie and the four men from New York that find her in the sewers after Earth has been attacked by an alien force. This group is known as the "Freedom Five" and they form a part of Earth's resistance against the invading aliens. Gracie is their John Connor, she is the voice of the people. The story of these men is actually the story that I wanted to read, they were fascinating to me. Sadly though, this was

5 Gracie’s Touch Stars

I don’t know what it is about S.E. Smith, but she makes Aliens freaking awesome!

I can’t even I love this book, and the world she creates. Gracie is human and she ends up saving earth and a lot of other life forms.

Kordon is a unique Zion Warrior and finds himself feeling some pretty intense things toward this oddly unique human.

And Gracie adapts so well you almost forget she is human, I loved it! I can’t wait to read book 2 <3

And David Brenin’s narration is freaking
I re-read this book for the 3rd time so I could remember what happened in the first book before I read Krac's Firebrand which is the second book to the series. (I plan on starting that right after this one.) It was good thing too, because even though the author does a quick review in the book I felt that reading the first book was better and I hate when the author takes the time to go over what happens in the previous books in detail when they should be focusing on the current book. That is why people sh ...more
Main Characters:
Gracie Jones - A woman who has been mysteriously pushed into the future after destroying an evil alien ship intent on taking over Earth
Kordon Jefe - A Zion commander who rescues and mates with Gracie

My Thoughts:
The characters are cartoonish and the plot is a string of cliches. I swear you can see the scenes from the movies that she picks using an alien vessel to fly up to the mother ship and place a virus in it...can anyone say Independenc

Another hit for S.E. Smith. Love her stories. I especially love her heroines and how they are 'molded' for the story. What an imagination. Thanks for letting me along for the ride.

Ok, this could be decent but there are so many scientific and biological mistakes in the book it's not even funny - I believe there are countless articles published about patently wrong romance clichés and any romance author ought to have read them by now. I’m taking away stars for this shit because I’m really tired of encountering them time and again. Even fanfiction writers know better by now, so I’m holding published authors to a higher standard.

I stumbled upon this author's works and quickly devoured them, which left me hoping for new stories with more strong and intelligent women, tough but romantic men and loads of fascinating secondary characters that just demand their own tales.

So when I discovered that a new series was starting, I definitely spent the time anticipating release day, hoping that the author was going to create another story for my "favorites" collection. And she did. ...more

I stumbled across this book and author through happenstance and now, S.E. Smith has went from being unknown to being on my "must buy" list. This is one of those romances that you come across once in a great while and wish it happened much more often.

The heroine, Gracie will make you laugh, cry and warm your soul. I really can't say enough about her. She is brought to life so vividly that you feel her pain and want to stand up & cheer when she manages to hold on to her hope and belief in lov

I still love the writting but appart from the first big surprise regarding the time, I was left waiting for more actions and unexpected events. But they didn't happen, sadly.
And can Gracie fall in love in like hours nearly??!! I mean you think she was so into Chance, she would have trouble beginning a new relationship, especially with a non human but it felt like everything was pretty normal...
I don't know there were many small points that kept bothering me. But I woud be curious to read a seq

Very strong alien H, honourable and he falls for the h the first time he hears her voice. She is human, young, brave and very alone after saving Earth but now finds herself a long way from home. He claims her but she to fight herself and others for her right to live the life she wants. It is scifi adventure, with a little angst, a bit of evil woven into a love story - and the alien H gets to show her his interesting alien bits to spice it up.
I am giving this a 5 based on the great storyline and characters. Still lots of problems with proof-reading! This time, I'm not marking down for it because the story was so good.

I would like to know how the H started out the book with the last name of 'Jefe', but ended it with the last name of 'Jeke'?????????????????
Just an ok read for me

This book had a lot of potential but I felt myself tiring of the unnecessary dialogue. At times I found myself growing bored of the plot. It just didn't work for me. I never felt emotionally invested in the characters nor storyline. Not a series I will personally be continuing.

Gracie's Touch

A moving story. Gracie went through so much and stayed strong. Plenty of action and suspense plus all the romance you can handle. A wonderful start to the series.
Aliens attack and decimate Earth, taking most humans as incubators or spare parts. 12 year-old Gracie Jones survives, hides out, joins a group of freedom fighters and becomes a legend. She's one of those cute super-geniuses who is basically good at everything, whom all men fall for, and who saves the day, repeatedly. As a 17 yr old, she's in love with fellow freedom fighter, Chance, who is helping her search for her family. Suddenly, the aliens need exterminating and Gracie is not only the only ...more

Ok, so I was very sceptical. Those books, who cost only 3 € on amazon sometimes tend to be very ... well ... bad.
So I was very suprised when I got to know a smart, strong and brave girl. Gracie was clever and determined to do what has to be done in order to save her family and friends, no matter the price. Wow. That sounded very different from a lot of other alien meets mate books I read.
So we make a time jump after Gracie accomplished her mission. She is stranded on a moon for three years and is finally sav

My only issue with this book was how quickly the romance started between Gracie and Kordan. I get why she decided to jump in the sack with him fairly quickly, I just wished I saw more of the actual interaction rather than just having it stated that they talked for hours about x,y,z. It'd have been nicer imo to at least get some of the stories Kordan told her about Zion. Hell, it'd have been nice to get to hear the stories about him and his brothers growing up that his mother told Gracie after th ...more

I really liked Gracie. She's young yet strong and determined despite horrible circumstances and fear. The hero is less well described, but likeable in his super warrior alpha supreme general way. I do like this book. I like how it shows strength in the face of adversity and even though there is a big strong alien ready, willing and able to fight, it is a woman and her intelligence that takes the day.

I'm not big on instant 'in love' couples. In this instance I think our leading lady has faced enough and is young enough to certainly confuse love and lust and feel affection for practically anyone who gives her some. But at least she lucks out with our hero. I think by the time t
