Oooh! This was just like fine candy. I so needed a break, a rest, a nice long train trip. Clickity-clack. Clickity-clack. The train runs down the track. . . .
I tried hard to parcel out this story. You know . . . take a little time to enjoy and savor. I did pretty well, too, until I got to the middle of the book. Then, I couldn’t stop. It was too much fun! I had to eat up the rest of the whole story all at once.

This was a romance with a dream; a dream a 15-year old girl would have when she met a

In Kathrine Grey's novel the reader will bounce back and forth from Aisley's life at age fifteen and then her life fifteen years later. When Aisley turns fifteen she decides to travel down the "forbidden" railroad trestle near her house. She meets a teenage runaway and they spend the rest of the summer together. One day he disappears and Aisley never hears from him again. Fifteen years later, Aisley is brought back to her hometown because of her grandfather's illness. She has never forgotten tha ...more

The story was interesting, with the characters of Aisley and "David" It was a good story of Aisley's need to expand her horizons and you could feel her spirit being held back. You could feel the need to explore and the usage of trains and train travel as the mode of exploration was great.
However, I didn't really get the relationship between "David" and Aisley...why was she so obsessed after all of these years. Why was she initially obsessed. It seems as though the character was unnecessarily st

Spoiler alert:
I was really enjoying this book until the end. I liked the Aisley character and all the train references. I loved the development of the love story and I really enjoyed how the author went back and forth from past to present. I was all set to give it a four or five star rating until the end. I guess I am one of those people that always likes a happy ending. It just seemed so unsatisfying for Aisley to finally find David but not end up with him.
I received this book from the Firs

Kathrine Grey holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Fiction Writing from Columbia College Chicago. Her first novel, Penny Necklace, is now available on Kindle or in paperback. All of her story titles are contrived from R.E.M. lyrics (ever more avowed since their disbandment). When she is not writing, she manages a popular Italian restaurant near Lake Michigan. She is graciously allowed to live in ...more
