The continuation of Megan and Antonio's story was an enjoyable read for me. I have liked both stories in this series which features a young adult hero who just happens to be the son of a mob boss. The storyline is very interesting and I like how intensely Antonio feels for Megan. I am happy to say the editing was better for this book because the first book is riddled with editing and grammar mistakes but I liked the story enough to overlook them.

Just a warning, there is a lot of violence related

The second book of the Mobster series picks up right where the first left off. I love Megan and Antonio! Their story is fun and romantic. I also loved getting to know Vito. He's a fun character and adds some laughs to the story.

This is a great series. The author does a great job of getting into mobster mode and making the thoughts, actions, and even the vocabulary seem real. There were many twists and turns in the story to keep me captivated. I just wish the books were longer! I am very much loo
~~~ 4 stars~~~
The story continues from where it was left off and it's quite entertaining - YA mixed with Mafia business. The last 40% of the book really swings into high gear and I loved it.
Antonio:"I'm ready to kill. I've been primed for this my whole life. It's kill or be killed."
My baby alpha is growing up, I'm so proud. ("wink")
Going with 4 stars on this one and that rating is solely for Chapters 11 - 18. The first 10 chapters deal with situations that (I guess) needed to be handled, but which I had no interest in. Antonio and Megan are still great together but all the characters were trying my patience for the first 10 chapters. You had Antonio being the uber alpha male where Megan was concerned, Megan not knowing whether to be turned on or annoyed, Erin dealing with PTSD and alternating between being catatonic and ha ...more
I LOVED THIS BOOK! Antonio, I love you! I really wish you existed in real life. I love it how he's so over possessive, protective of Megan and I love how he's still jealous of Megan's best friend Troy in this book. Whenever Troy got close to Megan, Antonio actually physically ripped him away from her. Gotta love a dominant hero ;)
Megan was not an annoying heroine. She had her shit together unlike her sister Erin although I can't blame her. I loved how Amy got a story line (somewhat) of Erin and
Fabulous second in series.
This picks up where the previous book 'Mobster's Girl' finished Patrick O'Neill, Megan and Erin's father has asked Antonio to take them away and keep them safe, Vito comes along as well and they all set off for Notre Dame.
This is a short book at only 112 pages but again I really enjoyed it, I read it in one sitting and was up until the early hours finishing it.
I loved the characters and how much Antonio loves Megan, how much she loves him and I adore Vito.
Ahh!! I loved it!! I read this book in about 3 hours or so this afternoon. I got the first book in the series, Mobster's Girl, for free and it left me dying to know what happens next. I bought this book on smashwords this afternoon and read it all in one sitting.
The story totally sucks you in. I love the romance aspect as well as the action aspect. I really enjoyed getting to know Vito in this book. He's such a cool character. I kept wondering: does he have a thing for Erin? He was so protective
Well what can I say about this book except I LOVED IT!!!! Once I had finished the first book I just downloaded this straight away I enjoyed the first book that much that I just needed to know what happened in the next one!!
Another great read that again I could not put down I found myself reading it on the bus on my way to work and on my way home lol.
This story continues well with the story of Antonio and Megan, I enjoyed this one as it showed you more about the mobster side of the characters bu
Although I really loved Mobsters Girl (book 1 in the series) much more I really felt like Awakening the Mobster was really good in the sense that it was a nice thread for the story line. I enjoyed that I got to see Antonio's softer side but, what i really enjoyed was the glimpses of the toughness megan has inside her and I have a strong feeling this plays a major role in the series! I have to say that although I love antonio I also found myself loving Vito and his protectiveness of Erin ( do I d ...more
Dang it Amy why do these have to be so short? Your killing me.
Once again I am totally in awe at how much I love this story. I know that sounds horrible. To be perfectly honest I have never been one to root for a mobster but this book has me fist pumping for Antonio and Vito.
Antonio and Megan are electric together. Megan is the peace to Antonio's inner mobster and Antonio is Megan's savior. I am dying to see what happens to them in the next book. I hope their love can survive.
Oh my God! All I can say is, I can't wait for book three. I thoroughly enjoyed book two. The romance and love between what we would think of as two " innocent " kids is real. But the life they have lived and what the future will bring is nothing innocent. Megan sheltered from the "life" making her a victim, and Tonio the Mobster's son, runs full circle. What should not be for Megan is a natural fight or flight reaction, even subconsciously she is one of them! Weird when you have lived a life lik ...more
REALLY liked this one too and just as good as Mobster's Girl (bks 1). The only reason I left off the 1/2 star this time is I wish it had been a longer bk. Looking forward to bk 3. Not sure how many the author plans for this series. Possibly by the time this is all through, one l-o-n-g bk would have been a good idea. Would like to keep the momentum going without stopping and starting every few months. Yes, a cliffhanger ending here but not a nail biter. At least Antonio/Meagan are ...more
This was a good short story. The mob background was fun and the characters were interesting. I liked the definitions at the start of each chapter. The story had a well developed plot, even though it was only a piece of a larger narrative. I'm interested to see where Antonio and Megan go from here ...
Disclosure: I received this book for free from Goodreads, however this had no impact on my review. I rated the story for the quality with which it was written.
Even though the main characters are Megan and Antonio and I love them to pieces, I'm kind of starting to have a thing for Vito. I mean I picture this great big Italian guy, but when it comes to Erin, he seems like such a teddy bear. All in all, enjoyed the book, the writing I think has improved since the last installment, and I'm kind of sad that it's over already!
I couldn't put my Kindle down. I loved Awakening the Mobster. I am really starting to like Vito... but Antonio is still the number one man. I can't wait to see how Antonio and Megan's story ends. I also can't wait to read about Vito and Erin's story.
More of Megan and Antonio.
I love this couple and I hope they see the rough stuff through.
I'm rooting for them.
I highly recommend this read!
I received this book from the author for an honest review. Thanks!
I read Mobster's Girl a few months ago and was excited for the chance to read the next book in the series. Awakening the Mobster starts off right where Mobster's Girl ended, with Megan, Antonio, Vito, and Erin going away to hide at Notre Dame. But going away does not mean they are away from danger. Antonio's father, the mob boss, has him on a job to collect money from a runaway in Chicago. But all isn't as it seems, and they can't
This was another short but enjoyable read. More like 3.75 stars.
Brief Summary:
Vito, Tonio, Erin, and Megan are on the run from whoever has betrayed Antonio's crime family. They are hiding out near Notre Dame, and we again meet Troy, Megan's old family friend. Megan and Tonio's relationship heats up, and there appears to be a romance brewing between Vito and Erin. Although it's pretty obvious from the start, by the end of the book we know who has betrayed Antonio and a little about why. Full out
The story takes its course where the reader left Megan, Antonio, Vitto and Erin in the previous book. On the run...No time to look back or to dwell on the past. The heroes are already facing new dangers that await them. Explosion, bloody fights, jalousy, nasty betrayal and passion.
If the scenery changes as the action moves from the campus of the University of Notre Dame into some streets of Chicago, the protagonists themselves remain the same. A greater part is given to the duo Erin-Vitto. I adm
I love this Mobster’s series. Each and every book is action packed, and thrilling from start to finish. More of the story continues to unravel in this second book just mounting the obstacles and dangers ahead of this young group. As Antonio and Vito struggle to keep Erin and Megan safe; the bonds between these four character will grow and transform into something much deeper. The addition of Vito and Erin was an added bonus to the romantic suspense of the story. Still a mystery readers will be e ...more
The second book in the Mobsters series takes up right where the first one left off, Megan, Antonio, Vito and Erin are hiding out trying to stay safe. Antonio and Vito are trying to find out who in the organization betrayed them and is trying to kill them. New secrets and enemies emerge as Megan and Tonio get closer, Erin is still having problems dealing with what happened in the first book. This book is not as fast paced as the
I've completely fallen in love with Antonio and Megan. And yes, now I'm hoping for something to happen between Vito and Erin. I think he'd be good for her. It looks like that's where the author is headed for those two.
Where the first book ended is exactly where the second book picks up, and even though they go to South Bend, it doesn't stop the Mafia action. I guess once you're in, you're in for life, but its not like they're trying to get away from the lifestyle.
Antonio is still doing things f
I love this series so much. It has everything that I look for in a teen romance novel. The story is well written and keeps you entertained. What I like most about this series is that it has grit. I love that you don't know if the characters are going to come out of a situation all scratch free (if you know what I mean). It adds substance to the story. Overall this is one of my favorite series and I can't wait to read the 3rd novel. ^_^
